This is a descriptive analytic research with cross-sectional design, aiming at describing the information seeking behavior of Indonesian people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sociodemographic data and the respondents‘ information seeking behavior were analyzed descriptively, and then using the Chi-Square Test. Significant results (p<0,05) were found in the relationship between age and marital status with the information seeking behavior about the transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia, the number of infected people in Indonesia, and the number of infected people in the world. This research results can be used as a reference for related parties in providing information about COVID-19 to be able to consider the age group and community marital status, thus it is expected to influence knowledge as ...

Anti-malaria antibody responses can help characterize this variation. In the present study antibody responses to Plasmodium falciparum MSP-1 and AMA-1 were measured to assess the transmission intensity in a hypo-endemic area of Purworejo and a meso-endemic area of Lampung during low and high transmission seasons. Methods: Filter-paper blood spot samples collected from Purworejo and Lampung by cross-sectional survey during high and low transmission season were stored at −20°C. Indirect ELISA assays were carried out using PfMSP1-19 and PfAMA1 antigens. A positivity threshold was determined by samples from local unexposed individuals, and the differences in seroprevalence, antibody level and correlation between antibody level and age in each site were statistically analysed. Electronic media recognized as the favored source of information for adolescents. This research aimed to assess the effect of audio-visual media to the increasing of sexual-reproduction knowledge. We conducted a before and after without control informal experimental study design into 153 students in the 1st-3rd grade of junior high school. The effect of the intervention was assessed through the difference between pre- and post-intervention by using the Wilcoxon test. The mean score of the respondent pre and post-intervention was significantly increasing. The audiovisual increased the knowledge of the adolescent regarding sexual-reproduction health

The dynamic and variation of culture, rapid flow of information, and accessible information source contribute to increasing of the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of teenagers, either with the positive or negative tendency. The objective was assess teenager’s attitude in religion-based private high school in Yogyakarta used an analytic observational study with cross sectional design. The population and sample of this research were high school students in religion-based private school in Yogyakarta. The sample was selected by proportional stratified random sampling method. The results were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. This research was aimed at providing evidence on climate change and health knowledge among adoles... more This research was aimed at providing evidence on climate change and health knowledge among adolescents. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Yogyakarta city from June to September 2016. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data among 508 adolescents who were in the second grade of a senior high school. This study revealed that participants had a low and inconsistent understanding regarding climate change and its impact on health. They reported that they prefer to get climate change information via talking with family. In summary, adolescent knowledge regarding climate change and health needs to improve with proper content and appropriate media.

Strategies aiming to address these climate change impacts are thus a necessity. Involving teenagers as agents of change is one way to promote necessary changes in attitudes and behaviors, in the community and our future society. This paper explores climate change perceptions among teenagers in order to formulate strategies that include them as agents in climate change adaptation addressing health. We did quick survey in 95 students, which are categorized as teenagers from a senior high school in Gunungkidul, Indonesia randomly enrolled as respondents in this research, but 15 of them dropped out due to the incompleteness of answer. Leptospirosis has still become a public health problem in the world, especially in developing cou... more Leptospirosis has still become a public health problem in the world, especially in developing countries which have tropical and subtropical climate such as in Indonesia. This research aims at investigating the spread and analyzing the cluster of Leptospirosis cases by using GIS. This research was conducted in 2015 using descriptive qualitative method. The total cases were 35 cased during May-Dec 2014 in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. The data consisted of secondary and primary data collected by using GPS. Univariate and spatial analysis were performed through SaTScan, QGIS desktop 2.4.0 and ArcGIS 1.1.0. The result shows that the distribution of Leptospirosis case in Bantul Regency is equally distributed in all districts with plain topography. The highest case occurs in May (12 cases). Clustering pattern is significant with p value= 0,001 with 11 cases in the cluster.

Many local people consume drinking water from wells that contain high levels of calcium. Many people suffer from urolithiasis. This study aimed to describe calcium or Ca(OH)2 distribution in the well water and explain its relation with urolithiasis incidence. This study was conducted in Gedangsari Subdistrict, Gunung Kidul District from July to November 2013. The study was cross sectional confirmed with titration test in laboratory. Samples were 94 wells of 3,849 well population as selected randomly. Criteria of sample selection included wells used for drinking by the population aged older than 30 years already, with less than 15 meter of depth. Laboratory test of Ca (OH)2 level was conducted by titration. Suspect urolithiasis was clinically diagnosed by doctor and data analysis used chi-square test. Objectives: Malaria remains a public health concern worldwide, including Indonesia. Purworejo is ... more Objectives: Malaria remains a public health concern worldwide, including Indonesia. Purworejo is a district in which endemic of malaria , they have re-setup to entering malaria elimination in 2021. Accordingly, actions must be taken to accelerate and guaranty that the goal will reach based on an understanding of the risk factors for malaria. Thus, we analysed malaria risk factors based on human and housing conditions in Kaligesing, Purworejo, Indonesia. Methods: A case-control study was carried out in Kaligesing subdistrict, Purworejo, Indonesia in July to August 2017. A structured questionnaire and checklist were used to collect data from 96 participants, who consisted of 48 controls and 48 cases. Univariate, bi-variate, and multivariate analyses were performed. Results: Bivariate analysis found that education level, the presence of a cattle cage within 100 m of the house, not sleeping under a bednet the previous night, and not closing the doors and windows from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. were significantly (p≤0.25) associated with malaria. Of these factors, only not sleeping under a bednet the previous night and not closing the doors and windows from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. were significantly associated with malaria. Conclusions: The findings of this study demonstrate that potential risk factor for Malaria should be paid of attention all the time, particularly for an area which is targeting Malaria elimination.

Climate change is a condition of changing climatic variability, including
temperature, precipitation and humidity. Climate change can be observed in large
areas and in a long time period. The consequence of the changing of the climate is
including the impact on human health, especially on the diseases that are sensitive to
climate variations. Many studies have been done to look at the impact of climate
change in the health sector. However, still limited research that assesses and discuss
the impact of climate change on infectious diseases. This paper structured using a
literature study. The purpose of this paper is to collect findings and evidence has
been produced by researchers who conduct research the impact of climate change in
the health sector. Google database is used as the primary source of search with the
keyword “Dampak, perubahan iklim, penyakit menular” dan “Impact, Climate
change, and Infectious disease”. Inclusion and exclusion criteria applied to select
the paper. Collected 27 articles and 6 are matched with inclusion criteria.

Purworejo is a district in which endemic of malaria , they have re-setup to entering malaria elimination in 2021. Accordingly, actions must be taken to accelerate and guaranty that the goal will reach based on an understanding of the risk factors for malaria. Thus, we analysed malaria risk factors based on human and housing conditions in Kaligesing, Purworejo, Indonesia. Methods: A case-control study was carried out in Kaligesing subdistrict, Purworejo, Indonesia in July to August 2017. A structured questionnaire and checklist were used to collect data from 96 participants, who consisted of 48 controls and 48 cases. Univariate, bi-variate, and multivariate analyses were performed. Results: Bivariate analysis found that education level, the presence of a cattle cage within 100 m of the house, not sleeping under a bednet the previous night, and not closing the doors and windows from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. were significantly (p≤0.25) associated with malaria. Of these factors, only not sleeping under a bednet the previous night and not closing the doors and windows from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. were significantly associated with malaria. Conclusions: The findings of this study demonstrate that potential risk factor for Malaria should be paid of attention all the time, particularly for an area which is targeting Malaria elimination.

Climate change is a condition of changing climatic variability, including
temperature, precipitation and humidity. Climate change can be observed in large
areas and in a long time period. The consequence of the changing of the climate is
including the impact on human health, especially on the diseases that are sensitive to
climate variations. Many studies have been done to look at the impact of climate
change in the health sector. However, still limited research that assesses and discuss
the impact of climate change on infectious diseases. This paper structured using a
literature study. The purpose of this paper is to collect findings and evidence has
been produced by researchers who conduct research the impact of climate change in
the health sector. Google database is used as the primary source of search with the
keyword “Dampak, perubahan iklim, penyakit menular” dan “Impact, Climate
change, and Infectious disease”. Inclusion and exclusion criteria applied to select
the paper. Collected 27 articles and 6 are matched with inclusion criteria.
