This article proposes, firstly, the challenges faced by the Costa Rican Management of Education b... more This article proposes, firstly, the challenges faced by the Costa Rican Management of Education by the Information and Communications Technology (ICT); and the Society of Information and Knowledge (SIK). Subsequently, diverse and extremely important aspects are considered, such as the cost of certain devices, some types of contexts and the global network society explained by Castells; to effectively implement a significant change upon an educational organization. In light of these ideas, an articulation between Kantian duty, the power of Castells and the management proposed by Drucker is explained; in order to suppress different social inequalities, as well as to confront it with the bourdesian ideas about the reproduction; in virtue of what is offered by Castells’ global network society; which leads to an analysis based on the position of Thomas Kuhn. Afterwards, a panorama is shown according to which, the individual that is exposed to a universe of electronic pages, must be correctly oriented, starting with the Management of Education, so that this individual may utilize the information offered, in the best possible way. Finally, conclusions are drawn which are oriented towards the importance of the inquiry of postures and/or lines of thought which are exceptionally essential to humanity, such as the impact upon bourdesian ideas, considering Castells’ global network society; and the Costa Rican public educational system.

The possible relationship of demographic factors, family nature as well as social ones. Consider the relevance of the study of each of these factors, enables the improvement on the management of the centers of initial education, the imminent presence of multifactorial complexity which becomes a great challenge for the administration of education. Stands out among the main conclusions that school attendance continues to represent a basic challenge to the educational leadership, increased by the particularities of the divergence in social contexts, and the effective management of information in the planning directive, could become one of the corrective effects for trying to neutralize the environmental variables, among which the formation of the family is emphasized.
The article summarizes the management of the National Project of Mobile Technology that has been ... more The article summarizes the management of the National Project of Mobile Technology that has been implemented in pilot form by the Omar Dengo Foundation in three public schools in Costa Rica, contemplate the different stages of the management process in each of its phases to achieve its implementation, as well as the different internal and external aspects that favoured or hampered their development. This research is qualitative, descriptive and exploratory. Its results include the need for a change in the administration of education and suggest a new design which display the organization as a versatile school which responds to the current Society of Information and Knowledge (SIC) and the Information Technology and Communication (ICT), since a perspective collective and consensual in pursuit of an ever more innovative and better educational center.

This is a descriptive study with qualitative technical support for analyzing the information with the purpose of understanding the data in terms of the educational reality to which it responds. .Among the findings, it is evident that in the management process that is conducted the educational community does not participate, because decisions are taken by the professional in education administration and respected by the faculty and administration, primarily. This generates dissatisfaction among personnel that is open to listen to and participate actively in this process.
This article refers the results of the research about the program assessment by competences, impl... more This article refers the results of the research about the program assessment by competences, implemented by the Ministry of public education in the technical education in the Professional Technical School in San Sebastian, from diagnosis the educators have on the proposal, the identification of difficulties and advantages in your application. The study is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving teachers and managers to which are performed interviews to obtain the most accurate information of the reality of the program at that school. Among the findings is demonstrated weakness in the implementation of the program, due to the lack of knowledge of basic concepts and guidelines of the competency assessment program. As advantages, is determined the evaluation approach to the world of work, which will play the student, from their specific competences, so that the importance of non-formal education management stands out to gestate processes socio-educational in that sense
This article is a modern proposal for the management of student conflicts, based on the research ... more This article is a modern proposal for the management of student conflicts, based on the research of qualitative type whose title was “Analysis of the perception of the student conflicts in public schools in Costa Rica”. Today there are many manifestations of conflicts that occur daily in the national educational organizations, and on which many teachers and principals feel impotence not by lack of capacity but by lack of tools for the prevention and efficient attention for this type of situation. From this perspective, it is essential to promote social skills in students preparing a manual of mediation which not only serves as a means of information, and training, but it constitutes a tool for mediation for the management of student conflicts of public institutions in Costa Rica. This manual shall consist of activities aimed to encourage values, principles and attitudes needed to collaborate with the student conflict management. These social skills are related to aspects such as: promotion of critical thinking; assertive communication, the promotion of resilience; the values that collaborate with the coexistence and the culture of peace, among others.

For the investigation were taken as base the following objectives: To analyze the process that manages the school, in relation to the inclusion of children with special educational needs, in regular groups of preschool education and to design a proposal with intervention strategies and mediation, to supervise the inclusion of children in regular groups of preschool education.
The methodology used for the study is quantitative descriptive. The conclusions obtained highlight the need for management in the schools in the study of having diverse supervision strategies in the process of inclusion of children with special educational needs in childcare centers as well as recognize various criteria to select suitable personnel for working with children with special educational needs. Completing the study with a proposal for intervention where the manager in his role of supervisor recognizes the institutional needs and translate them into the operational plan to meet the rights of children with special educational need
This article discusses the comparative analysis of educational management as an agent of change a... more This article discusses the comparative analysis of educational management as an agent of change and innovation to the complex educational environments in organizations: Nuevo Mundo High School and Piedades Sur ́s Technical High School, San Ramon. To obtain the data we applied a questionnaire to a sample of teachers and students as well as the directors of both institutions.
Besides we used multiple secondary sources to build a context of interpretation that would locate the particular case of these two schools, within the reality of educational management as an agent of change and innovation.
The principle guiding this study is that it is now essential to implement techniques and strategies, where it is required active leaders with human guidance and clarity in educational management that must be addressed not only in the present but also in the future.
Finally, with the results and conclusions obtained through the analysis of the data, we performed a project proposal called “Week of integration: promoting a culture of peace”, which purpose is to be an alternative of innovation and change, which generates a space of coexistence between the community and the institution, as well as promote their experience of values among community members.

This analysis allows us to provide new explanations for a better understanding of the little participation of women in positions of decision and responsibility compared to their contribution as teachers. This reason lies in the different methods used by the educational administration when appointing someone to the managerial position in public elementary schools. Such methods disregard teachers in this appointment and thus segregate them. Our analysis focuses on the practices and current legislation from the Organic Law of the Right to Education (LODE) until the approval of the Organic Law on Education (LOE) and laws to enforce the equality between men and women. Taking into account these regulations, we will eventually point out what would be the current state of the studied situation
This research analyzes the monitoring strategies applied by professionals in education administra... more This research analyzes the monitoring strategies applied by professionals in education administration at Ricardo Castro Beer Technical High School and San Mateo Technical High School located in Orotina, Alajuela, depending on the implications for the performance of the work of teachers. For this purpose, specific objectives are plotted to identify the monitoring process used by the directors; determine the strategies used in the work of supervision and establish the implications of supervision conducted in compliance function of teaching.
This research is conducted within the framework of a quantitative study, with the participation of teachers and principals of the institutions mentioned. The findings show the absence of planning, monitoring and evaluation and monitoring stages of carrying out the direction studied in schools, lack of control mechanisms and monitoring strategies to apply to teachers; unstable building interpersonal relationships; little help from other professionals in education administration in the teaching and learning process, and impact of the supervision exercised by the directors in fulfilling the teaching performance. To improve the process monitoring management in schools, a strategic model with specific actions is proposed, depending on the history of teaching, participation of teachers and the student population for the respective assessment of teacher supervision.

Therefore, it is proposed as an objective for this paper to think about the risky behaviors associated with the use of the internet and social networks in students during the stage of adolescence, coming to the conclusion of the urgent need in the educational system to manage comprehensive training processes where this issue is addressed as a strategy to strengthen the quality of life of this population.

This article responds to the development of the research on the identification of management stra... more This article responds to the development of the research on the identification of management strategies implemented by the principal in relation to the factors of conflict resolution, motivation and promotion of values, associated with the organizational climate in the educational organizations in study. This research was carried out under a descriptive quantitative approach, with the participation of faculty and staff, as well as principals of educational centers who applied a questionnaire, based on the three variables projected.
The results of this study allow to highlight the need of education management professional reinforces the strategies for resolving the conflict through negotiation, mediation and arbitration; also encourages actions to motivate teachers and administrative staff in order to increase their efficiency in the development of work, through recognition, trainings, and interaction among the staff. Regarding the promotion of values, the principal should strengthen strategies for greater involvement of the staff to the school. For this reason, a proposal is made to facilitate the implementation of certain strategies in this regard, especially in conflict resolution, and motivation of the faculty, and administrative staff.
Encourage the improvement of individual skills and investment in training processes, professional... more Encourage the improvement of individual skills and investment in training processes, professionalization and professional updating by the organization is in a bid to improve performance, administrative efficiency and better outcomes. Both public and private organizations have incorporated the administration of non-formal education (through training plans) as a strategy for improving productivity, efficiency in public attention, and the achievement of objectives and goals in a greater or lesser extent.
The elaboration of training plans, although it is a requirement requested by the Contraloría General de la República (General Accounting Office) to municipalities, is not today a widespread practice. By defining the knowledges, attitudes and skills needed to carry out each of the functions defined in a management administrative tool as manual jobs, establishing training priorities and strengthening of human resources in a municipality of average development as the canton of Aserrí. This model is proposed as an alternative to the current practices existing not only in Aserrí, but in other municipal bodies where the definition of the training process is little or nothing planned. The research was carried out during the second half of 2012 and presents important results in terms of methodology and strategy needed to design a training plan.

In this perspective, it is recognized that inside the centers are configured historically cultural codes, which maintain a dialectical relationship with the instrumentation of a policy, program or a plan of emerging nature oriented to the improvement of processes. The management and the school culture, therefore, form a central element of attention to investigate the different behaviors associated to the imperatives currently in progress relating to the quality, innovation, efficiency; which influence the practices of those who have the responsibility to carry out the emerging commitments of the education.
With the purpose of deepening in the transcendental complex relationship between education manage... more With the purpose of deepening in the transcendental complex relationship between education management and the link with the community, this study proposed as objective analyze the management of Rafael Hernández Madriz school and Santiago Crespo Calvo School, Liceo Nocturno de Ciudad Colon, San Jose de la Montaña High School, and Liceo Ambientalista de Horquetas with respect to the link with the community of the educational context. Different schools were selected belonging to different communal contexts and offer more widely through a qualitative study the scopes that management of education involves regarding the relationships with their community to achieve institutional goals. Among the findings of the study emphasizes the importance of the management of education with the community to which it belongs in the achievement of the educational objectives.
This study was conducted in the educational organizations: Barrio Limoncito School and los Lirios... more This study was conducted in the educational organizations: Barrio Limoncito School and los Lirios School from the School District 02 of the Regional Educational Administration of Limon in Costa Rica, whose general objective is to analyze the managing process of teacher evaluation on these schools from the Ministry of Education. It is a study based on the descriptive approach. It is based on mixed methodological techniques: qualitative and quantitative. Within the educational organizations teachers and administrative staff are consulted, and among the main findings, it was found that the processes of the evaluation of performance are fundamental to improve the development in teacher performance in search of the quality of the education provided. It is essential to have adequate management processes from educational organizations that strengthen these processes.

Research is descriptive; using qualitative and quantitative research techniques. The overall objective of the study is to analyze the approach to student conflicts as part of the management of the schools participating and as specific objectives: to determine the different student conflicts that arise in the participating institutions, identify the main causes that generate student conflict in the schools mentioned, to determine the management strategies employed by the administrator of education to address student conflicts and identify the main obstacles that these conflicts generate to the management of Barrio Limoncito and La Colina schools.

Thus we developed a descriptive research supported with quantitative and qualitative techniques in the Liceo de Miramar de Puntarenas, to analyze strategies dropout prevention and student retention, from the perspective of faculty and staff.
The study aims to determine the factors causing dropout, the strategies employed by faculty and staff from the management of education and perception of the efficiency and effectiveness of those actions for dropout prevention and student retention in school. Also generate a commitment from the education community to work together on this phenomenon in Costa Rican education.

This model is proposed as an alternative to the current practices existing not only in Aserrí, but in other municipal bodies where the definition of the training process is little or nothing planned. The research was carried out during the second half of 2012 and presents important results in terms of methodology and strategy needed to design a training plan.

In this perspective, it is recognized that inside the centers are configured historically cultural codes, which maintain a dialectical relationship with the instrumentation of a policy, program or a plan of emerging nature oriented to the improvement of processes. The management and the school culture, therefore, form a central element of attention to investigate the different behaviors associated to the imperatives currently in progress relating to the quality, innovation, efficiency; which influence the practices of those who have the responsibility to carry out the emerging commitments of the education.
With the purpose of deepening in the transcendental complex relationship between education manage... more With the purpose of deepening in the transcendental complex relationship between education management and the link with the community, this study proposed as objective analyze the management of Rafael Hernández Madriz school and Santiago Crespo Calvo School, Liceo Nocturno de Ciudad Colon, San Jose de la Montaña High School, and Liceo Ambientalista de Horquetas with respect to the link with the community of the educational context. Different schools were selected belonging to different communal contexts and offer more widely through a qualitative study the scopes that management of education involves regarding the relationships with their community to achieve institutional goals. Among the findings of the study emphasizes the importance of the management of education with the community to which it belongs in the achievement of the educational objectives.
This study was conducted in the educational organizations: Barrio Limoncito School and los Lirios... more This study was conducted in the educational organizations: Barrio Limoncito School and los Lirios School from the School District 02 of the Regional Educational Administration of Limon in Costa Rica, whose general objective is to analyze the managing process of teacher evaluation on these schools from the Ministry of Education. It is a study based on the descriptive approach. It is based on mixed methodological techniques: qualitative and quantitative. Within the educational organizations teachers and administrative staff are consulted, and among the main findings, it was found that the processes of the evaluation of performance are fundamental to improve the development in teacher performance in search of the quality of the education provided. It is essential to have adequate management processes from educational organizations that strengthen these processes.

Research is descriptive; using qualitative and quantitative research techniques. The overall objective of the study is to analyze the approach to student conflicts as part of the management of the schools participating and as specific objectives: to determine the different student conflicts that arise in the participating institutions, identify the main causes that generate student conflict in the schools mentioned, to determine the management strategies employed by the administrator of education to address student conflicts and identify the main obstacles that these conflicts generate to the management of Barrio Limoncito and La Colina schools.

Thus we developed a descriptive research supported with quantitative and qualitative techniques in the Liceo de Miramar de Puntarenas, to analyze strategies dropout prevention and student retention, from the perspective of faculty and staff.
The study aims to determine the factors causing dropout, the strategies employed by faculty and staff from the management of education and perception of the efficiency and effectiveness of those actions for dropout prevention and student retention in school. Also generate a commitment from the education community to work together on this phenomenon in Costa Rican education.
