The world catalogue of Membracoidea, through April, 1997, lists 68 genera, 162 species, and 1 subspecies from Panama (McKamey, 1998). Flynn (2012) listed all known species from Panama, documenting range extensions for 29 genera, 107 species, and 1 subspecies previously unknown from Panama, bringing the treehopper fauna from Panama to 97 genera, 269 species, and 2 subspecies. Inspection of 768 additional specimens since 2012 (new total of 3,595 specimens for the study), in addition to published literature, has added 2 new genera and 40 new species bringing the treehopper fauna to 100 genera (increase of 3 genera), 313 species (increase of 44 species) from 2012, and 2 subspecies. Many new provincial sites were added to each species with an updated provincial map showing numbers of species in each province. Updated species counts per Province (with increase): Bocas del Toro 65 (+10), Chiriqui 162 (+11), Veraguas 26 (+3), San Blas 8 (+1), Herrera 9 (+1), Darien 72 (+13), Los Santos 4 (+1), Cocle 43 (+9), Colon 187 (+79), and Panama 150 (+32). Tables listing published checklists and keys for Nearctic and Neotropical treehoppers are presented.

from Arizona in 1894, has remained little known. Images of Philya posted recently on the internet represent misidentifications of the Neotropical P. lowryi Plummer, known only from the type locality in south-central Mexico; the records refer to P. ferruginosa. The nymphs and adults of P. ferruginosa we found on New Mexico locust (Robinia neomexicana A. Gray; Fabaceae) in southeastern Arizona are the first host records for the treehopper. We differentiate P. ferruginosa from its native congener

The treehopper Micrutalis pallens Fowler was described from Mexico (Neotropical states) on the basis of two females; it since has been reported from Central America (Guatemala, Panama) and South America (Argentina, Guyana, Venezuela). The first U.S. records of this smiliine membracid of the tribe Micrutalini are reported from Arizona (Cochise County) and New Mexico (Grant County) in natural populations and ornamental plantings of Thurber's desert honeysuckle (Anisacanthus thurberi [Torr.] A. Gray; Acanthaceae). A diagnosis and color photographs of the lectotype female and an adult male and female from the current study are included to facilitate recognition of M. pallens in the Nearctic fauna. The adult male is described for the first time and the adult female is redescribed. The aedeagus of M. pallens is illustrated and compared with the aedeagi of M. calva (Say), M. dorsalis (Fitch), and M. malleifera Fowler.

The subgenus Acanthonota Buckton is a new synonym of the subgenus Lobocladisca Stal, and the subgenus Lecythifera Fowler is reinstated. A key to the subgenera of Cladonota and a checklist of the 47 valid species are provided. Twenty-four species are referred to different subgenera. Two new species of Cladonota are described and illustrated from Mexico: C. bulbosa and C. yucatanensis.
