Therefore, humans and robot interaction is crucial. However, currently robots are only able to communicate with humans due to physical interaction without any emotion or feeling. In this day and age, robots without emotions are similar to decision makers without passion. So, robots should be provided with the capability to feel the surface of any objects that they are holding. In order to develop robots that can feel or robots that have emotions like humans do, it is important for us to first study human emotions in conjunction with roughness, vibration or even temperature. It is believed that the findings are able to be used as a guidance in robot development. This paper is focusing on the roughness factor. A series of experiment where the kansei survey method was conducted and applied that required a number of participants to touch some surfaces and answer those questions in the survey based on what they feel about having interaction with the surfaces. This paper describes the results of these findings of how humans feel against touching surfaces.

Hence, viable data transfer between them cannot be tested. Therefore, a data linking testing between NAO Robot and IoRT network servers such as Microsoft Azure and ThingSpeak is conducted. The proposed data linking concept consists of data communication through NAO Operating System (OS) NAOqi APIs, Python SDKs, and IoRT network architectures. It enables two-ways communication between NAO robot and IoRT networks. The result shows that a set of data sent from NAO robot through Python SDK can be visualized in graph form at ThingSpeak website and vice versa. The result also supported by the back and forth data transfer between NAO robot dummy and

It is essential to engage TVET students by creating new, affordable robotics platforms for them to involve in current technologies at a fraction of the cost. This study presents the design and simulation of a six-axis robot manipulator for TVET training. The robot will the printed using FDM technique and ABS filament. ABS is a rigid material, suitable to build a sturdy structure to mount stepper motor at each of the six joints. To suit TVET training, each axis uses stepper motor incorporated with encoder, allowing step-input control, which is more accurate. The encoders act as feedback. In SolidWorks 2018 simulation, the total weight of the robot is 8.4 kg with an estimated fabrication cost of RM 9,900. This cost is comparably economical compared to other robot manipulators of the same size in the market.

The crackers are locally known as amplang. They are lightweight, airy and round in shape. The machine is designed to speed-up the packaging process of amplang and thus maintain its freshness. Currently the packaging is done fully using manual labour. The machine’s major components are Arduino Uno as the controller, load cell sensor to measure the weight of amplang before the packets are sealed, supply hopper, vibrational feeder and a DC geared motor. The design process was done in CATIA V5 and Fritzing simulated the electrical circuit. Stainless steel form parts of the machine that interact with amplang as it has excellent anti-corrosion properties. The machine structure uses mild steel. Functionality tests on the co...

It is essential to engage the students by creating new, affordable robotics at a fraction of the cost. This study presents the design and simulation of a six-axis robot manipulator specifically made for education and training. The robot was developed based on Chriss-Annin's configuration. The robot arm was printed using Fused Deposition Modelling technique using the acrylonitrile butadiene styrene filament. Before it was constructed, the arm parameters were assessed using Scilab as the tool and the traditional and fundamental methods: the Denevit-Hartenberg representation, the forward kinematics, the inverse kinematics, and the trajectory planning. The outcomes showed that the arm was working well on positioning and path planning. Therefore, the complete assembly of the robot should be able to assume a role in education and training.
