BIO

"Ultra Maniac," also known as "Uru Mani" for short, was first written as a manga by YOSHIZUMI Wataru in February of 2002, and later turned into an OAV the same year and then into an anime the following year in May.

The manga has recently been licensed and is now avaiable from Viz Media as part of their Shojo Beat manga line. The anime is also now licensed in America and is being distributed by Geneon Entertainment. If you are interested in buying the American version of the anime or manga online I would suggest purchasing it from either Anime Castle or Chibi Tokyo.

ABOUT
I (littlemelgirl) created this community for people who enjoy the "Ultra Maniac" anime, oav, and/or manga by YOSHIZUMI Wataru, the creator of such wonderful shoujo works as "Marmalade Boy", "Handsome Girl", and "Random Walk". You can call me Mel if you like. xD So please be kind to me or we will kick you out of the community. =D After careful consideration, I decided I wanted to make this a very unique community. I would like to give fellow U.M. fans the opportunity to discuss freely about the anime/manga, the author YOSHIZUMI Wataru, Wataru-sensei's other works, as well as making this a community for claims and graphics. Hopefully, this won't overwork the community. But we'll see. If this becomes too much for me to mod, I'll consider removing the claims part or asking for other mods. But for now, since this is a new community I think I'll be ok. RULES
1. Membership for this community is open, but requests to be a member must be approved by me before you're accepted.
2. ALL posts must be approved by me before they are posted in case someone forgets to follow the rules and a spoiler ends up being leaked upsetting people in the community.
3. You're welcome to type up a mini bio about yourself when you join the community, but you're not required to.
4. SPOILERS and PICTURES must be placed under a lj-cut. If you do not know how to do a lj-cut please refer here. If you can't decide if something is a spoiler or not, your best bet is to lj-cut it just in case.
5. Be kind and courteous to other members in the community when you comment and post entries. If I notice you being mean and nasty continuously to other members of the community, you will be banned.
6. When claiming something from Ultra Maniac please make sure you CHECK the claims list and the previous posts to make sure your claim is not taken by any other members first. You are allowed ONLY ONE claim and you MAY NOT CLAIM the anime or manga version of Ultra Maniac or certain "suggestive" body parts of characters. You MAY HOWEVER claim a character's "ass" if you really want to. I'm let myself claim two things because I created the community and I'm managing it. If you decide to leave the community and/or your account is deleted, you forfeit your claim over to the community and it is up for grabs again. If you changed your username please let us know, so we can update your claim. I would appreciate it if everyone who makes a claim in this community, posts the claim in their user info. (For example: I claimed TATEISHI Ayu @ ultramaniac). You don't have to do this, but I would like it if you did.
7. I don't mind ADVERTISING of other communities in this journal, but THEY MUST be somewhat related to anime or manga. You also must put them under a lj-cut, that way they won't become a bother to people in the community.
