Accordingly, the present study aims to develop a measurement instrument for measuring entrepreneurial outsourcing construct utilizing empirical evidence in Iran’s telecommunications and automotive industries. Employing a sample of 203 senior managers and executive experts of companies operating in these industries, the gathered data were analyzed using PLS-SEM method. According to our results, the proposed scale of entrepreneurial outsourcing comprises six dimensions: strategic factors, economical factors, technological factors, task specifications, risk relating factors, and entrepreneurial performance. Moreover, the scale enjoys sufficient multidimensionality, reliability, and construct validity in terms of convergent and discriminate validity.

The proposed scale comprises three dimensions: pre-alliance formation factors, post-alliance formation factors, and alliance performance, each incorporating several sub-dimensions. A series of three studies are implemented to generate an initial pool of items, to test the quality of data, and to purify the proposed scale. Data analysis is conducted in terms of reliability and validity assessment, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and also outer and inner model estimation. Employing the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique in both covariance-based and component-based approaches, our findings from a sample of firms in Iran's telecommunication and automotive industries provide strong evidence of reliability and validity, multidimensionality of constructs in second-order hierarchical modes, and the goodness of fit for measurement models as well as the structural model.

However, alliance partners always find it challenging to successfully manage the knowledge acquired by cooperation. In particular, small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) that suffer from resource and expertise scarcity encounter more challenges. In this regard, identifying major factors influencing KM success in alliances between SMEs may contribute to a better understanding of the issue and provide practical solutions. Hence, this study aims to propose and develop a model of KM performance focusing on SMEs that have built alliances. This model incorporates insights on the role of KM practices during and after the formation of alliances. Identifying relevant components, we attempted to promote a framework providing a measurement instrument for assessing the success of KM initiatives in SMEs engaged in alliances.

In this regard, the impact of alliance entrepreneurship on small and medium sized enterprises’ (SMEs) performance was investigated. Extending entrepreneurship into the domain of alliances, we found that there are some major factors affecting the relationship between alliance entrepreneurship and SME performance. Alliance partners’ entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and protecting their intellectual capital were considered as the two most important factors. Since alliances between SMEs are common in industries affiliated to automobile manufacturing, we attempted to assess alliances among Iranian auto parts manufacturing SMEs. According to the data gathered from 81 SMEs which had established alliances, we concluded that alliance entrepreneurship has a significant positive impact on SMEs’ performance. Furthermore, SMEs’ entrepreneurial orientation (EO) mediates the relationship between alliance entrepreneurship and performance as well as the relationship between intellectual capital and performance.

The statistical population of the study includes the executive managers of Iranian auto parts companies. The collected data was analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The Smart PLS 2.0 software was applied for analyzing data and path modeling with latent variables. Our findings showed that social capital has a positive, significant impact on organizational innovation and entrepreneurial orientation among the staff. Entrepreneurial orientation of the staff in turn affects organizational innovation, which confirms the mediating effect of entrepreneurial orientation on the relationship between social capital and organizational innovation. The findings of the study can help managers of auto parts companies to improve innovative activities and motivate the staff toward entrepreneurial activities.
