The category of books for September/October is Indian Authors. THE BOOKS ARE:
NECTAR IN A SIEVE BY KAMALA MARKANDAYA & MIDNIGHT'S CHILDREN BY SALMAN RUSHDIE Basically this is The LJ book club of books that they don't teach you in English class.
Most book clubs focus on the "classics"; books typically by old dead white men and women. While this book community is not made to ignore those books, we want to focus more on the international and multi-cultural new generation of books.
This is for all of you who are into books by today's authors but still love the classics. This is for you no matter what colour you are, how old you are, or where you live. This is the for you to discover new books and to learn about things different than what you're used to.
