The analysis shows that all protocols, with one exception, suffer from data leakage arising from data organization where the patients and their images are not grouped. Each patient is represented with several scans. It can provide misleading results as data of the same individual may occur in both training and test sets. Furthermore, only one paper proposed ensemble learning utilizing as base models VGG-16, ResNet50, and Xception. Therefore, we proposed and experimented with the following strategy to mitigate the found risks of bias: data standardization and normalization to achieve proper contrast and resolution; k-means and group shuffle split to avoid data leakage; augmentation and ensemble transfer learning to deal with limited sample size and o...

This paper overviews a foundational framework and provides models for planning and implementing smart learning environments. Gart-ner's 2015 Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies identifies the computing innovations such as Internet of Things, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning, Wearables, etc., that organisations should monitor. Learners and students, being the future drivers of these industries, are the main human resource to fulfil the vacancies of these work forces. Constant improvements and re-evaluation of the curriculum has to be done regularly to keep the learners up-to-date in meeting the requirements of these industries and corporations. Universities benefit from these thinking-outside-the-box practices by equipping students with work force experience that involves more hands-on tasks with real-life infrastructures. The intro...

These days the human being is witnessing everyday developments in technology, products, services ... more These days the human being is witnessing everyday developments in technology, products, services that people implement in their lives. 300 years after the invention of the wheel as a potter’s wheel, someone figured out to use it for transportation. To realise the need of users is very important for evolution. In presented paper the authors’ team does not invent the methodology of design thinking only apply it in wide range of courses in Computer Science, Information Technologies. The University of Library Studies and Information Technologies is a principal investigator of the European Erasmus+ project Design Thinking for Digital Innovation 2016-1-BG01-KA203-023719. The main goal of the project is to be develop a course (curriculum, methodology, guidelines for implementation) in Design Thinking. Inspired this approach the project team discover the nugget education for vocational training in security. 2018-1-BG01-KA202-047919. Its main idea is to be created micro modules to support th...

Structural changes in the Bulgarian society and the process of alignment to the European Union re... more Structural changes in the Bulgarian society and the process of alignment to the European Union require development of flexible administrative structures that are able to adopt and renew permanently their management and personnel capacities according to the new realities. A range of important features of the socio-economic life as a whole should be considered:• massive information saturation, performed by plenty of electronic mediators and technologies;• new qualitative requirements to the human resources, their skills, ...
