In this experience we used ThinkTag Smart, a new learning platform, to train 400 students. After an introduction concerning Information and Communication Technologies in Italian schools, this contribution will describe the ThinkTag Smart platform and will also focus on the experience, underlining particular aspects connected to the social construction

Crowdsourcing, as an enabler of open innovation, has raised the question about the kind of organising forms and/or managerial interventions it may require or underpin. However, there is little consensus in management studies on how to best design a crowdsourcing initiative (contest) with regard to the mechanisms to engage an online community. In this paper, starting from an exploratory case study on the project “Stati Generali della Formazione e del Lavoro” (General Assembly on Training and Work)—a crowdsourcing experience designed for a large community of professional trainers, planned and managed by University of Milano-Bicocca and AIF Academy (Associazione Italiana Formatori), a broad representative association of Italian trainers—we study the factors influencing the decision of the participants (a.k.a., solvers) to become involved (and to what extent) in a contest. The study c...

The study of organizational change and innovation suggests a number of variables whose impact must be analysed if we are to understand how the outcomes of digital innovation in schools may be optimized. In this paper, we evaluate the experience of a large sample of teachers (420 completed questionnaires) who had been involved in a digital innovation programme for schools. More specifically, we measured the impact of personal and contextual variables on the participants' attitude to digital change, identifying a pattern of interaction. While some variables, such as age and perceived ICT expertise, influenced both positive and negative attitudes to change, others had a more specific impact: For example, commitment to the organization mainly encouraged positive attitudes towards the digital innovation project, while negative attitudes to digital change were also associated with negative self-perceived work/life balance.

Thus, an identifiable broader community of knowledge-based experts and practitioners is generating a 'meta-discourse' on the sharing economy. This is the point of departure for the current paper, which examines the phenomenon in depth, particularly focusing on the role that local governments can play in promoting, steering and governing this disruptive social innovation. Drawing on the input of a panel of ten experts from academia, the consultancy sector, policy-making, and business, the sharing economy is analysed and reassessed. The community's reflections on its own nature and characteristics are also reported.

Especially in US, race and class are influencing food policy, production, distribution and consumption. The article presents the case of the black and low-income neighborhood of Dudley Street in Boston, that is creating a community residents-driven food system respectful of its members’ race and culture.

Researchers in different fields have recognized the need to better understand the reasons behind its spread and identify strategies to combat it. This article resumes the main results achieved in different fields of knowledge, to define a theoretical framework. We performed a systematic review of recent literature (2013–2018), which showed that even if the concept of “fake news” has attracted a great number of researchers there still isn’t a clear definition of the phenomenon nor a plan on how to combat it. The results suggest the need for education and schools to promote programme and policies that may support pupils in recognizing and defending themselves from fake news at national and international levels.

A total of 256 Italian (161 females, 95 males) and 122 Turkish (76 females, 44 males, 2 did not report gender) university students were recruited by convenience sampling. The ages of the participants ranged between 18 and 33 for both the Italian sample (M = 20.9; SD = 1.92) and the Turkish sample (M = 22.77; SD = 2.47). Data were collected via a questionnaire which included two vignettes depicting different cyber bullying episodes (one web-site and one mobile phone episode) and follow-up questions. Results indicated that cyber bullying appears to be widespread among both samples. Although the respondents from the two countries share similar perceptions of cyber bullying, discrepancies exist in how Turkish and Italian university students perceive what a cyber bullying incidence is, and who is called the cyber bully and the cyber victim. Researchers and practitioners need to be aware of the unique needs of university students from different countries while planning prevention programs for cyber bullying.

This experience is ongoing at present for the training of managers of Technological Transfer (TT), who work in an Italian Scientific Technological Park (STP). The main activity of the STP is linked to technological transfer. In the STP the technological transfer manager is the key figure in the management of the transmission of scientific knowledge from the research world to the industrial dimension. In Italy there are various initiatives for the training of the TT manager, from universities and other public agencies, not referable to the academic institution in a strict sense. These projects, even though they are relevant in the Italian framework, do not satisfy the training demand of TT managers. First of all, the training model used in these experiences is still the traditional lesson face to face, and possesses an extremely abstract character. Secondly, there is the problem of time. Typically, the TT manager does not have long periods of time to spend on training during his work day. The aim of this study is to make an experiment in a "Training course for the manager of technological transfer" in order to satisfy the training needs of the TT manager. The course is based on the blended learning model, with the use of combined traditional educational methodologies which are: 1. e-learning methodologies in the first part; 2. m-learning methodologies in the second part. In this paper, the experience of blended e-learning will not be described thoroughly, but will focalize on the blend m-learning experience, giving details of all its phases.
