The ethanol and aqueous extracts of the dried stem bark of the plant Crataeva nurvala Buch-Hum (C... more The ethanol and aqueous extracts of the dried stem bark of the plant Crataeva nurvala Buch-Hum (Capparidaceae) have been found to possess significant anti-fertility effects in rats. Both ethanol and aqueous extracts exhibited partial and complete resorption of implants at 300 and 600 mg/kg b.wt dose levels, respectively. In estrogenic activity study, both the extracts increased uterine weight and caused opening and cornification of vagina in immature rats. The present work justifies its effectiveness in preventing pregnancy in all rats at dose levels

The people suppose to eat more calcium, vitamins and some steroids with intension that they will get done the things too fast. Without been having good trainee and medical supervisor most of the people doing exercise in the fitness club and gym and taking the diet which is one of the major cause of nephrotoxicity.

The selected and authenticated plant extract was prepared by maceration with using a methanol as a solvent for 7 days. From the toxicity study; it was observed that plant extract is non toxic and caused no death up to the dose of 500 mg/kg. It is safe and used for further experiment.

The aim of present study undertaken was to determine the antipsychotic activity of dried fruits of Catunargaom spinosa (Thumb.) was extracted using ethanol. The extract was investigated for preliminary phytochemical constituents which exhibit saponin, carbohydrate, flavonoides and tannins. Amphetamine is used to produce psychosis and Haloperidol is used as standard drug. Also the evaluation test such as determination of total ash value, extractive value, moisture or loss on drying, and finally determination of foreign organic matter. These evaluations are useful to determine quality and purity of crude drug.
The effect of ethanol extract of dried roots of Musa paradisica Linn against ethylene glycol indu... more The effect of ethanol extract of dried roots of Musa paradisica Linn against ethylene glycol induced renal calculi in albino wistar rats are studied in this research. A renal calculus was induced in rats by ingesting 0.75% ethylene glycol in drinking water for 28 days and was manifested by high urinary calcium, oxalate, and low urinary magnesium contents. Simultaneous administration of 1ml (1 in 10) Musa paradisica Linn orally for 28 days along with ethylene glycol (0.75% v/v) reduced urinary calcium, oxalate and elevated urinary magnesium level. It also increased urinary volume thereby reducing the tendency for crystallization. The histopathological studies confirmed the induction as degenerated glomeruli, necrotic tubule and inflammatory cells was observed in section of kidney from animals treated with ethylene glycol. This was reduced; however after treatment with Musa paradisica Linn. These observations enable to conclude that Musa paradisica Linn is effective against ethylene glycol induced renal calculi

The stimulus may be thermal (heat or cold), chemical (foreign substances, foreign organisms, drugs), or mechanical (trauma). Anti-inflammatory agents are the agents which relieves the inflammation. Amino acids L-tyrosine was refluxed in presence of thionyl chloride and methanol for 8 hrs to form its methyl ester hydrochloride(a). Compound (a) and taurine were refluxed with Salicylic acid in 30 % NaOH solution for 2 hrs and neutralized with conc. hydrochloric acid to precipitate target compounds (b, c). These compounds were characterized on basis of melting point, TLC (R f value), IR and 1 H NMR spectra and evaluated for analgesic and antiinflammatory activity. Target compound (b) was found to be most active with 96.3 % protection for analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity.

Significant decreases in number of graffian follicles and corpora lutea and significant increases in number of atretic follicles in treated rats during experimental period indicated the antiovulatory effect of the extract. Increases in the weight of the uterus, its thickness and diameter indicated the uterotrophic effect of the extract. The significant increase in the level of cholesterol in the tissues of treated rats indicated the inhibition of steroidogenesis of cholesterol by ovarian endocrine tissues of female albino rats. Restoration of normal estrous cycles after 14-21 days of withdrawal of treatment indicates the reversible effect of ethanol extract in rats.
