Given this, the problem posed by the study concerns the way photojournalists deal with their photographic records, considering the archiving, preservation and recovery phases of these products at the heart of a digital collection. The supported hypothesis refers to the fact that the way in which these professionals interact with their work materials, in reality, is impacted by the most varied factors, among which, the use of equipment and technological resources, training work and the level of awareness regarding the relevance of knowledge of archival practices and their obviously positive impact on their activities. In general terms, the objective of carrying out the research is to explore the dialogic interfaces between archiving and digital photojournalism in order to conduct an analysis of the management and preservation of the digital photographic archive of Jornal O Globo, an important journalistic outlet based in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Specifically, the objective is to (i) analyze how traditional archival principles are applicable and adapted to digital photojournalism practices; (ii) identify the main problems that are present in the management and preservation of Jornal O Globo archives; (iii) and, finally, make recommendations that can be acted upon by professionals dedicated to photojournalism. To achieve the premises set out here, it was decided to develop a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research, seeking to interpret the data collected through the application of questionnaires that aim to make it possible to reach the level of professional awareness linked to preservation of digital photographic files. In addition to these instruments, we also used the theoretical contributions of famous authors in the fields of

To achieve this, a study of production processes and an effort to organize knowledge on the subject is proposed, based on the literature in the fields of Information Science and Archival Studies. The proposal includes conducting research through a case study with the memory records of William Alvin Hatton's personal archive, as well as understanding how the use of technical and methodological tools specific to Archival Studies can help in organizing this collection and creating these visual narratives.
