Web 2.0 technology and Social Networking Sites (SNS) -Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Skype, Flickr, ... more Web 2.0 technology and Social Networking Sites (SNS) -Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Skype, Flickr, etc. are fast revolutionizing the cyberspace interactions. For physically challenged people, this new trend offers extended capability to play an active role in the mainstreamed socio-cultural lives better than ever before, optimizing educational, employment and economic wellbeing and thereby ensuring their dignified and creative social inclusion. More so, the trend enhances the unprivileged groups' cultural capital through the networks of relationships based on mutual understanding and cooperation. This study explores how social media contribute to removing the barriers of social inclusion faced by the differently abled in rural Kerala, during their socializing and networking endeavors. The specific objectives of the study are: a) To what extent are these groups active in social media? B) What is their perception of the impact of social media on their social inclusion? The researcher used quantitative methodology and collected the field data through survey research. The findings shed light on the role of social media in ensuring the social inclusion and enhancing the cultural capital of the disabled people.

While news curation is comparatively new in India, little academic research has studied the phenomenon. In this work, the researcher analyses the infant level tendencies and patterns in the field, based on online curation of news on Indian politics. The study is designed as a content analysis of an online news curation service- Storify.com The political segment subjected for analysis is news related to New Delhi Assembly Election 2013.

Based on theoretical framework of Technology Acceptance Model, the present research sheds light o... more Based on theoretical framework of Technology Acceptance Model, the present research sheds light on the necessity of increasing web information literacy by providing adequate instructions so as to increase the responsible and mature use of the web as an authentic reference for academic research. The results show that all the variables such as credibility assessment competency, perceived suitability of web information for research use, perceived ease of searching authentic information, attitude towards web information and intentions to use web information for research are significantly associated each other except for an insignificant path between perceived ease of use and attitude. The study also proves the positive impact of web use instructions given to the users on their confidence and competency to assess the credibility of the web information.

The present analysis attempts to provide a comprehensive overview of science and its evolution in historical perspective and the concept of public communication of science through various methods and channels focusing on their context and application.
