Small wooden furniture businesses in East Indonesia feel pressure from the furniture businesses o... more Small wooden furniture businesses in East Indonesia feel pressure from the furniture businesses of the West Indonesia, in particular from Jepara, due to a fierce international rivalry. The study is intended to analyze the effect of market orientation and entrepreneurial orientation on competitiveness with innovation as an intervening variable. The study distributed 189 questionnaires to the small wooden furniture producers in the South and West Sulawesi Provinces. The collected data were analyzed by structural equation modeling using maximum likelihood approach. The study found that market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and innovation contributed to leveraging the competitiveness of small furniture producers. With this model, market orientation is found to have a positive and significant effect on innovation and competitiveness, both with a small-medium effect. Interestingly, the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and innovativeness shows a positive, significant, and the most dominant of all structural causal relationships in the model, with a small-high effect. In contrast, the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and competitiveness has a positive and significant effect with a smaller path coefficient. The study also found that innovation shows a positive and significant effect on competitiveness with a relatively small impact.

The study seeks how the Regional Development Banks operating in South and West Sulawesi maintain ... more The study seeks how the Regional Development Banks operating in South and West Sulawesi maintain and attract depositors by evaluating the deposit products and banking service quality that have an impact on depositors' satisfaction. The study collected data using questionnaires distributed to 100 depositors owned by three Regional Development Banks. The data collected is then used to analyze the constructs of savings products, quality of banking services, and satisfaction using factor analysis to ensure that the five indicators proposed for each construct are eligible to be analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The problems are: a) low level of social welfare in the IbW region especially farmers community, b) the government has not implemented the program "picking, process and sale ", and c) lack of knowledge and skills in the post-harvest processing of agricultural products. Unfortunately, the Islamic banking industry nowadays only touches on a few minor aspects of the contribution to increase prosperity of the "small" peoples. However, 56.5 millions unit of Micro and Smal-Medium Enterprises (2012) has contributed 60% of Indonesian GDP and about 97% of labor force are become a strong reason for Indonesia to have better and stronger economy. Thus, waqf bank issue raises as a capital source to figure out this problem. This paper tries to explore further possibility development of waqf bank as one of alternatif solution to achieve social welfare and poverty alleviation.

The objective of the article is to examine the dominant antecedent (characteristic) for youth in ... more The objective of the article is to examine the dominant antecedent (characteristic) for youth in Indonesia to become entrepreneurs, by using the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) model. Research Design & Methods: This work is a quantitative study with a deductive approach. It was conducted by surveying 727 undergraduate students from universities in Indonesia to measure both indicators for every construct (analysis factors) and correlation effects on other constructs (path analysis). All data obtained were analysed through partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Findings: Among the three exogenous driver constructs, Subjective Norms has the strongest effect on Intention (0.152), followed by Perceived Behavioural Control (0.040) and Personal Attitude (0.011). Implications & Recommendations: Knowing the potential character of youth who become entrepreneurs enables policymakers to effectively plan targeted programs and policies. This article suggests several recommendations that focus on support from surrounding people such family, friends, and role models, who could approve young people's decisions to start own businesses. Contribution & Value Added: This research supports and strengthens the work of several researchers on the cultural and value factors that influence intentions with the additional element of religious values and virtues. system. Unfortunately, the Islamic banking industry nowadays
only touches on a few minor aspects of the contribution to increase
prosperity of the "small" peoples. However, 56.5 millions unit of
Micro and Smal-Medium Enterprises (2012) has contributed 60%
of Indonesian GDP and about 97% of labor force are become a
strong reason for Indonesia to have better and stronger economy.
Thus, waqf bank issue raises as a capital source to figure out this
problem. This paper tries to explore further possibility
development of waqf bank as one of alternatif solution to achieve
social welfare and poverty alleviation.
