This qualitative study explores how preservice physics teachers think about the role that scienti... more This qualitative study explores how preservice physics teachers think about the role that scientists play in the teaching and learning of physics. Our participants were 33 preservice physics teachers in their first year participating in a scientist partnership program through online meetings. Participants' responses were collected through an essay questionnaire, and the result was analyzed with co-occurrence network analysis. Our research shows that preservice physics teachers have a positive perspective on scientists. The primary role of a scientist is related to a person with sufficient knowledge and opinion about physics. Their role is also related to the experiment and research result. Moreover, their innovation and discovery of new physics-related things also became their central role. After preservice physics teachers interact with scientists, they have higher motivation to learn physics. Our findings suggest that the activity facilitating interaction with professional scientists must be encouraged during the preservice physics teacher program.

This study aims to investigate the correlations between pre-service science teachers’ pro-environmental behaviors (PEB) and values toward the environment through one-time cross-sectional survey studies. Information was collected from a sample of the predetermined population at one point, followed by correlational studies designed to explore the correlations between the variables under study. The context of ethnoscience-based learning in the Merdeka curriculum is related to socio-cultural... more The context of ethnoscience-based learning in the Merdeka curriculum is related to socio-cultural studies. Following up on the uncommon science learning integrated with ethnoscience studies, especially in the socio-cultural realm, a content analysis of textbooks used in schools was conducted. This study aims to determine the potential of junior high school science learning using the Merdeka curriculum integrated into ethnoscience studies in the socio-cultural aspect. The research was conducted using the content analysis method, with the analyzed indicators consisting of 5 parts of values in socio-cultural. The results showed that science learning has great potential to be integrated with ethnoscience studies, considering that the textbooks have been able to present all value indicators in the socio-cultural. All indicators have been contained in the book in each chapter, except for spiritual value incarcerates. The appearance of all indicators in each chapter in the book provides information on the suitability of textbooks with the aim of curriculum. However, spiritual value indicators are still contained in only 2 chapters in the book, so it is necessary to strengthen spiritual values in each chapter in the book. Further research can be done by conducting content analysis with a more diverse number of books, so as to provide a broader picture of textbooks

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana keselamatan dan keamanan kerja laboratorium Fisika di kota Samarinda. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode wawancara dan observasi di dua SMA di kota Samarinda pada bulan November 2022. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek keselamatan umum laboratorium pada kedua sekolah termasuk ke dalam kategori baik, aspek kepekaan terhadap perasaan siswa berada pada kategori sangat baik, aspek keselamatan kerja setiap percobaan fisika berada pada kategori baik dan aspek kelengkapan sarana laboratorium berada pada kategori cukup. Enhancing PEB needs to consider some aspects, such as the value and location. Pre-service physics teachers have a role in shaping students’ PEB because environmental issues are part of the high school physics curriculum. This study aimed to investigate the link between the location, and values (biospheric, altruistic, egoistic, and hedonic), from two different locations in Indonesia. The modified and translated 2-MEV, and E-PVQ scales were used. This study concluded that the values in both locations are in the very high category, in which the values are correlated to PEB. The strongest correlated value is an egoistic value that is related to the self-enhancement indicating the need for self-enhance approaches in the class to promote PEB. Through this research, it is expected to be able to provide an overview of the PEB category of prospective Physics teachers who have received learning with the PEB integrated curriculum. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with purposive sampling. The instrument used is a two-dimensional questionnaire 2-Major Environmental Values (2-MEV) that has been translated and adapted to the Indonesian context. Overall, respondents who have filled out questionnaires are 63 prospective Physics teachers who have taken environmental-based courses. The results showed that the majority of prospective Physics teachers were in the High category, and no prospective teachers were in the low category. This finding is able to strengthen that the aspect of education, which in this case is implemented in the curriculum based on Wet Tropical Forest and its Environment (HTB+L) coupled with habituation in the University environment can have a positive impact on PEB. In the scope of Mulawarman University, efforts have been made to habituate PEB through the provision of environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, to various integrated activities of PEB. The environmentbased curriculum has potential to improve the PEB of prospective teachers, both through classroom learning, and various activities that are habituent. In addition to the implementation of the curriculum that is able to strengthen the environmental knowledge of prospective teachers, it is necessary to be equipped with student activities or habituations related to the environment. This research is still limited to the analysis of knowledge aspects in the curriculum towards PEB, so further research is needed that examines other aspects that form PEB theoretically.

The change of Indonesian curriculum from 2013 curriculum to merdeka curriculum encourages the acc... more The change of Indonesian curriculum from 2013 curriculum to merdeka curriculum encourages the acceleration of adaptation in junior high school science learning to be closer to the environment and climate change topics. This study aims to provide a comparative description between the 2013 curriculum and merdeka curriculum and their representation in the 7th-grade junior high school science textbooks on the topic of climate change. Content analysis method was used in this study to analyze the documents both from 2013 curriculum and merdeka curriculum and textbooks in each curriculum.Results showed that the 2013 curriculum and the merdeka curriculum have different curriculum development patterns, both in the allocation of time, and the learning process, where the 2013 curriculum presents the material deeply and in a specific, chapter, whereas in the merdeka curriculum the material is only presented in the form of case studies that are integrated with the topic of substances and their changes. The depth of the topic in the 2013 curriculum is adjusted to its characteristics in the development of concept knowledge, analysis and creating ideas. On the other hand while in the merdeka curriculum has characteristics that integrates of the application science with socioeconomics, therfore the integration of topics and presentation in the form of general case studies (emphasis on the engineering section) is encourage to be conducted.

For years, studies on pro-environmental behavior (PEB) have been conducted widely. However, the t... more For years, studies on pro-environmental behavior (PEB) have been conducted widely. However, the trend of this issue reminds unclear. This study aimed to analyze the demographic location, the existing environmental theory, and the research design of PEB research over the previous ten years. PEB publications in students' contexts fluctuated where the number of publications has dropped over the past two years. Most studies were conducted without a theoretical framework; however, the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was the most used environmentalism theory. The majority of research about PEB of students was conducted in Asia. To measure the PEB of students, researchers mostly used questionnaire based on theoretical models or scales and analyzed the data with quantitative approches.

Thus, future study could conduct their research in a larger area with a different culture to explore the relationship between PEB with location or other demographic aspects, and the development of activities to enhance PEB need to consider the strong relationship between PEB with egoistic value.

This paper is an explorative study on the pro-environmental behavior (PEB) of students from the buffer cities closest to the new capital city. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the two major environmental values and appreciation instruments. The questionnaire contained 21 items that measured PEB in relation to three aspects: preservation, utilization, and appreciation. Data were collected from 280 junior high school students who participated in an online questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive statistics and correlations. Utilization was identified as having the highest score among the three aspects, indicating that most students in the buffer cities hold exploitative utilitarian preferences for nature. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan detergen berbahan aktif biosurfaktan daun kelor dengan metode Prinsip Rotary Evaporator Sederhana (PRES). Pemanfaatan daun kelor (Moringa olifera) dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi daun kelor menggunakan metode maserasi hingga menghasilkan biosurfaktan, yang kemudian diolah menjadi detergen cair. Untuk menguji sediaan biosurfaktan maupun detergen cair, dilakukan beberapa uji, yaitu organoleptik, pH, bobot jenis, stabilitas busa, daya detergensi, dan cemaran dari limbah detergen cair kemudian dibandingkan dengan detergen komersial. However, the trend of this issue reminds unclear. This study aimed to analyze the demographic location, the existing environmental theory, and the research design of PEB research over the previous ten years. PEB publications in students' contexts fluctuated where the number of publications has dropped over the past two years. Most studies were conducted without a theoretical framework; however, the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was the most used environmentalism theory. The majority of research about PEB of students was conducted in Asia. To measure the PEB of students, researchers mostly used questionnaire based on theoretical models or scales and analyzed the data with quantitative approches.

Enhancing PEB needs to consider some aspects, such as the value and location. Pre-service physics teachers have a role in shaping students' PEB because environmental issues are part of the high school physics curriculum. This study aimed to investigate the link between the location, and values (biospheric, altruistic, egoistic, and hedonic), from two different locations in Indonesia. The modified and translated 2-MEV, and E-PVQ scales were used. This study concluded that the values in both locations are in the very high category, in which the values are correlated to PEB. The strongest correlated value is an egoistic value that is related to the self-enhancement indicating the need for self-enhance approaches in the class to promote PEB. The different locations which are in the same country didn't show a significant difference in both values and PEB. Thus, future study could conduct their research in a larger area with a different culture to explore the relationship between PEB with location or other demographic aspects, and the development of activities to enhance PEB need to consider the strong relationship between PEB with egoistic value.

Through this research, it is expected to be able to provide an overview of the PEB category of prospective Physics teachers who have received learning with the PEB integrated curriculum. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach, with purposive sampling. The instrument used is a two-dimensional questionnaire 2-Major Environmental Values (2-MEV) that has been translated and adapted to the Indonesian context. Overall, respondents who have filled out questionnaires are 63 prospective Physics teachers who have taken environmental-based courses. The results showed that the majority of prospective Physics teachers were in the High category, and no prospective teachers were in the low category. This finding is able to strengthen that the aspect of education, which in this case is implemented in the curriculum based on Wet Tropical Forest and its Environment (HTB+L) coupled with habituation in the University environment can have a positive impact on PEB. In the scope of Mulawarman University, efforts have been made to habituate PEB through the provision of environmentally friendly facilities and infrastructure, to various integrated activities of PEB. The environmentbased curriculum has potential to improve the PEB of prospective teachers, both through classroom learning, and various activities that are habituent. In addition to the implementation of the curriculum that is able to strengthen the environmental knowledge of prospective teachers, it is necessary to be equipped with student activities or habituations related to the environment. This research is still limited to the analysis of knowledge aspects in the curriculum towards PEB, so further research is needed that examines other aspects that form PEB theoretically.

This paper is an explorative study on the pro-environmental behavior (PEB) of students from the buffer cities closest to the new capital city. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the two major environmental values and appreciation instruments. The questionnaire contained 21 items that measured PEB in relation to three aspects: preservation, utilization, and appreciation. Data were collected from 280 junior high school students who participated in an online questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive statistics and correlations. Utilization was identified as having the highest score among the three aspects, indicating that most students in the buffer cities hold exploitative utilitarian preferences for nature. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan detergen berbahan aktif biosurfaktan daun kelor dengan metode Prinsip Rotary Evaporator Sederhana (PRES). Pemanfaatan daun kelor (Moringa olifera) dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi daun kelor menggunakan metode maserasi hingga menghasilkan biosurfaktan, yang kemudian diolah menjadi detergen cair. Untuk menguji sediaan biosurfaktan maupun detergen cair, dilakukan beberapa uji, yaitu organoleptik, pH, bobot jenis, stabilitas busa, daya detergensi, dan cemaran dari limbah detergen cair kemudian dibandingkan dengan detergen komersial. Hasil detergen cair menggunakan metode PRES menunjukkan mutu detergensi yang sebanding dengan detergen komersial, karena memiliki stabilitas busa mencapai 97%, dengan daya detergensi mencapai 80%, namun tingkat limbah cemaran yang tinggi.
