Catfish cultivated in rivers can be contaminated by heavy metals such as copper (Cu) which come f... more Catfish cultivated in rivers can be contaminated by heavy metals such as copper (Cu) which come from activities around the river. Copper exposure through the consumption of catfish will be harmful to health. This research aim to analyze the public health risks due to catfish consumption in Ulak Jermun Village, Ogan Komering Ilir. The design of study was cross sectional using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis method. The research respondents were 113 people with 5 samples of catfish taken from the river where the fish were cultivated. The analysis of heavy metal copper using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) method. The results showed copper contamination in catfish with an average concentration of 1.67 mg/kg. There were no respondents with RQ value > 1 for realtime non-carcinogenic health risks, but 11 people (9.7%) of respondents with RQ value > 1 for non-carcinogenic health risks in a lifetime. Meanwhile, for realtime carcinogenic exposure 34.5% had ECR values > 10-4 and 100% of respondents had ECR values > 10-4 for carcinogenic effects in lifetime. The conclusion was the people of Ulak Jermun are at risk of experiencing carcinogenic diseases due to copper exposure with the largest percentage of people aged> 32 years, female, and weighing ≤ 57 kg.

Introduction: Ogan Ilir is one of the three regency with the highest stunting incidence in South ... more Introduction: Ogan Ilir is one of the three regency with the highest stunting incidence in South Sumatera. Environment factor is indirect causes of stunting in toddlers. The objective of this study therefore was to analyze the correlation between environmental sanitation with the incidence of stunting on toddler in Ogan Ilir Regency. Method: An observational analytical with a Cross sectional approach was conducted to determine incidence of stunting and associated environmental sanitation factors among toddler. Samples were toddler aged 12-59 months around 152 which selested by Multi Stage Cluster Sampling. Data was collected through interviews using questionnaries and observation was using checklist. The data was analyzed using Analysis of covariance test at (α=0.05). Result and Discussion: There was significant association between physical quality of clean water with incidence of stunting (p=0.036). Also, quqlity of sewerage significantly correlated to incidence of stunting (p=0.011). Significantly association also found between quality of latrines with incidence of stunting (p=0.005). On the other hand, history of infectious disease (p=0.100), personal hygiene (p=0.347), pesticide exposure (p=0.06), and cigarette smoke exposure (p=0.077) were not associated with inciden of stunting. Conclusion: Indirectly, the incidence of toddlers stunting is determined by environmental sanitation.

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ialah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap mengenai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) di tingkat rumah tangga. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan/sosialisai secara door to door dengan menggunakan instrument leaflet, serta pre posttest untuk mengukur keberhasilan kegiatan. Sasaran kegiatan ialah 70 warga di Kelurahan Indralaya Utara. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini ialah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap positif warga di Keluarah Indralaya Utara Kabupaten Ogan Ilir mengenai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat di Tatanan Rumah Tangga. Ke depan diharapkan adanya kerja sama dengan pemerintah setempat yang berwenang, dalam hal ini ialah dinas kesehatan dan puskesmas setempat, agar kegiatan penyuluhan dalam dilakukan secara rutin mengenai mengenai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat di Tatanan Rumah Tangga.

Stunting on childrens has an impact on brain development disruption by delaying children's motor and cognitive development thereby reducing the quality of Indonesian human resources. The purpose of this activity was to increase the mother's nutritional knowledge in Seberang Ulu I District, Palembang through the provision and explanation of stunting pocket handbooks. The implementation of this activity was through home visits to every household that has a under two years. Knowledge test results showed a significant increase from pre-test and post-test means. This activites showed that the pocket handbook was effective in increasing mother's nutritional knowledge (p<0,05).

Increased traffic volumes on the east-lane roadside of South Sumatra have led to increased NO2 concentrations. In terms of age and NO2, children are the greatest risk group. The aim of this research was to estimate health risks of NO2 and analyze the correlation between exposure and lung capacity. This was an analytical study, with a cross-sectional design and risk analysis. The study group consisted of 100 children of primary school age. The results showed that the noncancer hazard index (HI)for NO2 exposure based on real-time data was 1.138. In the study population, as shown by the noncancer HI, 22% of students in OganIlir were classified as not at risk (HI < 1), whereas 78% were classified as at risk (HI ≥ 1). On the other hand, history of infectious disease (p=0.100), personal hygiene (p=0.347), pesticide exposure (p=0.06), and cigarette smoke exposure (p=0.077) were not associated with inciden of stunting. Conclusion: Indirectly, the incidence of toddlers stunting is determined by environmental sanitation.

Copper exposure through the consumption of catfish will be harmful to health. This research aim to analyze the public health risks due to catfish consumption in Ulak Jermun Village, Ogan Komering Ilir. The design of study was cross sectional using the Environmental Health Risk Analysis method. The research respondents were 113 people with 5 samples of catfish taken from the river where the fish were cultivated. The analysis of heavy metal copper using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) method. The results showed copper contamination in catfish with an average concentration of 1.67 mg/kg. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini ialah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap mengenai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) di tingkat rumah tangga. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metode penyuluhan/sosialisai secara door to door dengan menggunakan instrument leaflet, serta pre posttest untuk mengukur keberhasilan kegiatan. Sasaran kegiatan ialah 70 warga di Kelurahan Indralaya Utara. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini ialah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap positif warga di Keluarah Indralaya Utara Kabupaten Ogan Ilir mengenai Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat di Tatanan Rumah Tangga. Stunting on childrens has an impact on brain development disruption by delaying children's motor and cognitive development thereby reducing the quality of Indonesian human resources. The purpose of this activity was to increase the mother's nutritional knowledge in Seberang Ulu I District, Palembang through the provision and explanation of stunting pocket handbooks. The implementation of this activity was through home visits to every household that has a under two years. Knowledge test results showed a significant increase from pre-test and post-test means. This activites showed that the pocket handbook was effective in increasing mother's nutritional knowledge (p<0,05).

Increased traffic volumes on the east-lane roadside of South Sumatra have led to increased NO2 concentrations. In terms of age and NO2, children are the greatest risk group. The aim of this research was to estimate health risks of NO2 and analyze the correlation between exposure and lung capacity. This was an analytical study, with a cross-sectional design and risk analysis. The study group consisted of 100 children of primary school age. The results showed that the noncancer hazard index (HI)for NO2 exposure based on real-time data was 1.138. In the study population, as shown by the noncancer HI, 22% of students in OganIlir were classified as not at risk (HI < 1), whereas 78% were classified as at risk (HI ≥ 1).
