Kesetian merupakan hal penting terutama dalam perkawinan. Kesetiaan perempuan kepada lelaki. Tuli... more Kesetian merupakan hal penting terutama dalam perkawinan. Kesetiaan perempuan kepada lelaki. Tulisan ini meneliti kesetian Istri Blorong, Nyi Kerti, dan Rara Mendut dalam tiga teks, yaitu “Dongeng Kali Blorong”, “Asal Mula Desa Gunem”, dan “Rara Mendut”. Kesetiaan berwujud pada dua tingkat tindakan. Satu, menyamakan diri. Dua, menyusul kematian. Istri Blorong dan Nyi Kerti menyamakan dirinya menjadi manusia ular sebagaimana bentuk suami. Rara Mendut menyusul kematian Pranacitra. Dalam era sekarang ini, dua wujud kesetiaan tersebut sangat tidak dianjurkan untuk diikuti. Teks harus dibaca secara kritis. Perempuan adalah sosok yang mampu mandiri. Cerita rakyat adalah wujud refleksi atas realitas yang terjadi di masyarakat. Teks tersebut justru mengajarkan apa yang seharusnya tidak dilakukan oleh perempuan.

Loyalty is important especialy in a marriage. Women loyal to men. This paper examines loyalty Blorong’s wife, Nyi Kerti, and Rara Mendut in three texts namely ‘Kali Blorong’, ‘Asal Mula Desa Gunem’ and ‘Rara Mendut’. Loyalty divides into two action levels. First, likened. Second, following the death. Blorong’s wife and Nyi Kerti likened himself into human snake as her husband. Rara Mendut following the death Pranacitra. In this era, the two form of loyalty is not recommended to be followed. The texts must be read critically. Women are capable of independent figure. Folklore is a reflection on the reality in community. The texts teach what should not be done by women.

This paper analyzes three literary texts themed mobile phone. There are two factors that affect the use mobile phones are the age and social class. At the age of 60 years, the mobile phones are used for communicate with family. At adult age between 20-40 years, mobile phones are used for establish a love story. In the middle social class, mobile phones are used for communicate. At the lower social class, mobile phones are used to raise the social classes. The texts are not only reflect the social reality, but also serve to reflect social reality by make allusions to behavior of people in the use of mobile phones.

Leaning of literature both in schools and colleges recognized by many parties are still deteriora... more Leaning of literature both in schools and colleges recognized by many parties are still deteriorating. It happens because it has been applying learning to memorize. The students have memorizing learning instead of creative thinking. They read to memorize but ignore enhancing their creativity. They also have listening skills to memorize. Therefore, the study of literature should encourage and train students to develop their creativity. This is in line with the nature of literature. One of the properties of literature is freedom given in thinking that is the characteristic of creative thinking. The Creativity development can be achieved by strengthening literacy, namely the ability to ask and write.
