In a few months, this virus called COVID-19 was present in several countries, being recognized by the WHO as a pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic was dramatic for the economy and society. In many economic sectors, companies were faced with the inoperability of their commercial activities. For example, in the healthcare sector, institutions were faced with unprecedented pressure, and this pandemic has exposed some weaknesses in the responses to environmental changes. As a result of this scenario, knowledge management and organizational intelligence become fundamental for hospitals to adapt to changes in the environment and respond effectively to new challenges. Considering this scenario, this research aims to analyze the influence of effective knowledge management, organizational intelligence, and organizational performance on the effective hospitals' response to COVID-19. Data were collected through research sent to physicians and nurses working in Brazil and Portugal hospitals. We sent the survey using a professional social network, and 248 valid responses were obtained. The PLS-SEM analysis technique was used to test hypotheses. The results showed a positive relationship between effective knowledge management, organizational intelligence, and organizational performance with the effective hospital's response to COVID-19. Additionally, the results suggest the need for managers to focus more on developing internal programs encouraging knowledge transfers among their employees. As practical implications, our research validates the relationships between effective knowledge management, organizational performance, effective hospitals' response to COVID-19, and the importance of effective knowledge management for pandemic management. In originality, this research provides hospitals and other healthcare organizations with a direction on key resources to which these organizations should turn their efforts to improve their effectiveness in responding to new disease outbreaks.

Among the reasons that prompted this change is the use of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), mainly adopted by large enterprises, since its adoption involves high investment and complexity for implementation, hindering its spread among smaller companies. Several studies have discussed the benefits generated by the adoption of ERP systems in enterprises as well as costs involved in the deployment process. The focus of this research is to present and discuss, through a conceptual approach, these different views on the costs and benefits of these systems, focusing on the different ways of generating value systems that provide information to businesses through ERP. The results showed that the discussion about the value of ERP for companies not yet consolidated and with increasing importance of information systems, ERP was regarded as a strategic tool in the search for greater competitiveness, transcending its value and importance for companies of their internal processes for a relationship of greater importance in business strategy.

The inter and intra-regional income disparity is high and equalization mechanisms are ineffective to equate the vertical gap and the horizontal gap, which shows the need for continuous improvement of the institutions responsible for relations and federal policies. The idea is that the vision of territorial planning ad opted by the National Policy for Regional Development (PNDR) to reduce regional disparities should consider addressing the gap sand weaknesses of fiscal federal entities. The results found may indicate a situation of heterogeneity between the groups, however, the focus of analysis followed for a finding of internal heterogeneity in each group. The results reported some benefits due to the system usage, mainly concerning changes on business processes and the management level. However, there was no formal evaluation or measurement process, as well as was not performed comparison between the situation before and post the implementation. It concludes that, case possibly there were a clear and well defined evaluation procedure, it would be easier to justify the investments made.
