Penduduk lokal dalam industri pariwisata di Taman ayun mengambil berbagai macam peran. Mereka berjualan disepanjang area Pura Taman Ayun, atau sebagai pemandu wisata. Berdasarkan analisis situasi, maka permasalahan mitra Banjar Delod Bale Agung adalah kemampuan bahasa Inggris dari Warga Banjar Delod Bale Agung dalam upaya mendukung industri pariwisata Pura Taman Ayun masih memerlukan pemantapan. Selain kemampuan bahasa inggris yang baik, dalam dunia pariwisata juga diperlukan pemasaran yang baik. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang terjadi di lapangan maka solusi yang disepakati dengan pengurus banjar Delod Bale Agung adalah pemantapan bahasa Inggris untuk pariwisata melalui pelatihan Bahasa melalui pelatihan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Balai Desa Mengwi. Peserta pelatihan adalah pemuda di Desa Mengwi yang tergabung dalam Karang Taruna Wiratama Mandala serta warga Banjar Delod Bale Agung Desa Mengwi. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan memberikan materi menggunakan Ms. Powerpoint. Lalu dilakukan praktek bersama dalam kelas. Dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan juga dilakukan pembuatan kelompok-kelompok untuk praktek guiding. Pelatihan kedua dilaksanakan dengan memberikan materi mengenai Bahasa promosi pariwisata (iklan). Hasil Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta memahami materi yang diberikan. Kata kunci : Mengwi, Bahasa Inggris, Promosi Pariwisata SUMMARY The large number of foreign tourists is not comparable to the number of local tour guides who are able to speak English well in Taman Ayun Temple. Communication with foreign tourists is sometimes combined with sign language. That gives a bad impression for foreign tourists. In addition to good English skills, good marketing is needed in the world of tourism. Based on the analysis of the situation, the problem is the English language skills still needs improvement to support the tourism industry of Taman Ayun Temple. The agreed solutions to overcome these problems are: strengthening English for tourism through language training. For tourism promotion, it is necessary to conduct training in making tourism advertisements. The training held at Mengwi Village Hall with the training participants was young people in Mengwi Village who were members of the Karang Taruna Wiratama Mandala and residents of Banjar Delod Bale Agung Mengwi. The training was conducted by giving material using Ms. Powerpoint and joint practice in class. During the training, groups were also formed to practice guiding. The Indian short story for Kṛṣṇa; The Supreme Personality of Godhead and its translation for Kṛṣṇa: Personalitas Tuhan Yang Maha Esa (English to Indonesia) to highlight how the translation ideology applied in transferring the meaning of emotions. If external influences cannot be avoided, a translation should respect its main scope of being the source for a cultural change. Therefore, the two questions that have eventually to be answered are how does the translation ideology related to the word of emotions in the common culture reader. Reasoning about the factors underlying the translation ideology applied towards Indonesian culture.

Specifically, it aimed to know what the primary methods used by EFL teachers, how they delivered the methods, and what are the advantages and the disadvantages of applying the method in Indonesia case. The focus of the current research was on elementary teachers. Data were gained through interview and classroom observation. The research has shown that the primary methods used by EFL teachers were Grammar Translation Method and Direct Method. They combined those two methods and delivered them using English and Bahasa.

It used by Hindu communities in Bali as offerings. The banten production can be a livelihood for some people in Bali. One of the villages wherein the community produces banten for commercial activities was Lukluk Village. The partner in this study was the bebantenan group namely Sekar Jepun. The study was conducted become a solution regarding the problems occurred. The target set was in accordance with the activity planned to get the solution offered. It was included the products produced well packaged, therefore, they last long, partners have a logo become a brand image. Based on the activities implementation, the targets achieved were partners having attractive and eye-catching packaging labels, as well as neat packaging. With good packaging, it was hoped the products produced by partners will last long. Based on an evaluation by partners, they stated that they obtained a lot of orders due to the canang produced was well packed. The activities that cannot be conducted was packaging design training. This happened due to the members of the group who understood the computer were not active anymore.

The structural and metalinguistic differences between language and culture, the effects of certain styles cannot be achieved without disturbing lexis or syntactic order in the target language. In such cases, it is a more complex procedure must be used to convey the meaning of the source text. It may looks quite modern, or even unusual, indirect translation procedure allow translators to exercise over strict control the reliability of their efforts. The cultural system owned in SL and TL is at a high level and/or high context. It prioritizes positive emotions, positive thinking, and positive face rather than negative emotions. It was regarded mapping of emotion change based on the phenomenon found in the source language to its translation. There were four emotions categorized discussing included the positive emotion to less positive emotion, positive emotion to negative emotion, negative emotion to less positive emotion, and negative emotion to positive emotion. Despite, there was a change of emotion in its translation, however, the culture script in the source language as well as in the target language was applied a belief system consisting of the high value in the social life. Due to the positive thinking is a base in the process of translating among the word of emotions that was identified in the source culture.

At this time search information through online media is something that is commonly used by many people. Search information through online media grows by providing search suggestions. Search suggestions can be either pre-stored keywords in the browser or by using reference data from the database. Dynamic query suggestions are a feature that is widely applied to information search websites. Some methods that can be used in query suggestion are MySQL Pattern Matching, MySQL Fulltext Index, Levenshtein Distance and Jaccard Similarity. All of these methods are compared in terms of processing time, proximity of data search by suggestion, calculation of data proximity rank and sorted from nearest data, search data based on number of words entered, amount of data that can be suggested. From a simple concept of dynamic query suggestion, we need to know which method is better used in dynamic query suggestion. Dynamic query suggestion method is implemented in the form of article website using PHP programming language, MySQL database, responsive web design and also use AJAX as data retrieval technique. Comparison of Jaccard similarity, MySQL pattern matching, Levenshtein distance and MySQL Fulltext Index with process time comparison parameters, proximity of data search by suggestion, calculate the proximity rank of data and sorted from the nearest data, search data based on the number of words entered, amount of data that can be suggested indicates the MySQL pattern matching is the fastest method for query suggestion but less accurate for suggestions, MySQL Fulltext Index provides more accurate search suggestions than other methods and requires less processing time. Jaccard similarity method has a fairly good accuracy but requires more processing time. The Levenshtein distance method is a less precise method used for query suggestion because it is less accurate for suggestions and also requires considerable time.

The emotive words used are based on the cognitive scenario. There are five emotive words described. They are happy, sad, fear, anger, envious, and ashamed. The transposition procedure was appplied to the replacement of one word class by another. There is no change in meaning. The transportation procedure can be applied intralinguistically, referring to as particular language. The original expression is the base one and the result is the transposed expression. The highly versatile translation procedure is transposition. The stylistic value of the transposed expression is sometimes substantially different from the base expression. Transposition can render the nuance of style, and used as a main means of finetuning the stylistic elegance of the translation product.

The purpose of this study was to examine the use of home yard in supporting food security program... more The purpose of this study was to examine the use of home yard in supporting food security program in rural areas. Two groups of farmers in Sidawa village, Bangli, were involved in the study and each group had 20 cooperators. Four models have been developed in the study, namely cultivation model in very narrow, narrow, medium, and wide home yard. Data were analyzed by examining some variables observed on plants which included several agronomic components (e.g. production), economic aspects of R/C ratio analysis, and food consumption adequacy analysis (e.g. energy adequacy ratio (EAR) and desirable dietary pattern (DDP)). Results of the study show that the highest average production was eggplants, then followed by tomatoes, local chilies, and chili peppers. Furthermore, agribusiness done in home yard gained favorable profit with the average of R/C > 1. The community's consumption pattern was not as satisfactory as the ideal one, or mostly less than the ideal pattern. Two food groups were consumed for more than the ideal consumption, such as grains, oil, and fat, which are harmful to health. The use of home yard impacted some food groups, namely vegetables and fruits, to exceed the desirable dietary pattern. On the other hand, tuber crops, oily fruits or seeds, and legumes were less than the desirable dietary pattern.

In Indonesia, teenagers use the internet to find some information related to school, work, and lifestyle. The Internet makes a range of distance and time is no longer an obstacle in obtaining information. It can be accessed in every place and every time. However, if the teenagers do not use the internet wisely or they use it to find some negative contents on websites, it will result in negative impacts on them. This study aimed at investigating some attitudes toward the use of the internet for students. The samples of the study were students in SMA N 1 Kediri. The method used was a survey by asking the students to fill out a questionnaire. The findings show that most of the students give a positive attitude toward the use of the internet for students. Most of them argue that crimes will be decreased if the students used the internet wisely. Also, there will be many creative ideas initiated by students for the development of this country.

This research aimed at investigating the students' motivation in English learning as a second lan... more This research aimed at investigating the students' motivation in English learning as a second language. The method used was a survey by randomly asking the students in Pritchard English Academy (PEACE) to fill out a questionnaire which adapted from Attitude Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) designed by R.C. Gardner. The questionnaire was administered to a group of 30 students who come from intermediate until advanced level. The data were analyzed by using SPPS program. It was used to find out mean score and standard deviation. The main findings show that the students are relative "highly" motivated and found to be slightly more "instrumentally" motivated to learn English. This reveals that instrumental motivation is a significant factor among this group of students learning English. Based on this study's findings, some relevant and useful motivational learning implications are recommended for enhancement and improvement of the students' motivation.

Kajian maknanya meliputi denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskiptif untuk menjelaskan fenomena yang terkandung dalam gambar tersebut. Subyek penelitiannya adalah gambar yang terdapat dalam teks Krsna dan obyek dari penelitian ini adalah permasalahan yang dicermati. Teori dari Roland Barthes digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan fenomena yang terdapat pada data. Data primer dari penelitian ini adalah gambar dan data sekundernya adalah teks Krsna. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengamatan dan pencatatan secara kritis. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) dilihat dari fungsinya, gambar-gambar tersebut dapat mempermudah memahami pesan yang disampaikan oleh pengarang buku terhadap kesadaran Krsna. (2) kajian gambar yang bermakna denotasi dan konotasi, sebagian besar mengandung sebuah kepercayaan yang diyakini kebenarannya sampai sekarang, dengan kata lain kewajaran dalam sebuah budaya adalah hasil konotasi, jika konotasi menjadi tetap akan menimbulkan sebuah mitos, kemantapan sebuah mitos akan membentuk sebuah ideologi. (3) fenomena sekarang, mitos bukan hanya sekedar mitos namun telah berkembang menjadi sesuatu yang dipuja-puja yang diyakini mampu memerikan kebahagiaan lahir dan bhatin yang sering disebut sebuah aliran kepercayaan. Kata kunci: denotasi, konotasi, makna, mitos, semiotik. Pendahuluan Secara fenomenal, ilmu memaknai kehidupan dengan kesadaran tersirat pada teks Krsna. Keberadaan teks ini dikenal oleh dunia karena merupakan prinsip dasar kerohanian. Teks seperti ini bisa terkenal karena memiliki nilai-nilai yang sangat relevan terhadap kehidupan manusia. Ini terlihat dari para pembaca buku teks tersebut dari beragam suku, agama, dan budaya. Secara teoritis, status kognitif sebuah makna, dalam tradisi positivisme logik terdapat perbedaan antara makna eksplisit dan implisit yang dipandang sebagai perbedaan antara bahasa kognitif dan emotif. Sehingga pembendaharaan makna denotasi dan konotasi ini terlihat menarik sekali untuk dicermati lebih mendalam. Dalam sebuah konteks tertentu, makna denotasi bersifat kognitif yang berbentuk semantik, sementara konotasi bersifat ekstra semantik karena mencakup rajutan rangsangan emosi, yang kurang bernilai kognitif (Ricoeur, 2005: 81). Secara empiris, ajaran-ajaran yang tertuang dalam teks Krsna sangat baik untuk dimaknai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, karena makna kehidupan di dunia ini terefleksi pada teks Krsna yang penuh dengan nuansa kerohanian. Dengan memahami secara baik pesan-pesan yang disampaikan dapat mengubah cara bersikap, berperilaku, dan berkeyakinan dalam kehidupan. Perubahan tersebut tentu ada sebabnya, salah satunya adalah makna-makna yang terdapat pada gambar yang mengacu pada isi dari teks Krsna. Berdasarkan atas fenomenologis yang dikaitkan dengan teori terhadap objek dari penelitian ini, terdapat beberapa isu yang diungkap. Permasalahan tersebut adalah apakah makna gambar yang terkandung dalam teks Krsna dan mengapa makna tersebut menjadi sebuah mitos dalam kehidupan. Gambar-gambar pada teks Krsna sangat penting diteliti melihat dari dua volume yang berbahasa Inggris dan tujuh volume yang berbahasa Indonesia tersebut mampu mencerminkan pesan yang disampaikan dari keseluruhan isi dari teks Krsna itu sendiri. In term of forming of word, it was produced two expressive included actual and potential. The technique of collecting data was descriptively and it was analyzed by blocking theory. The theories were stated by Aronoff (2011) and Bauer (2004). The result of this study was to show that blocking occurred whereby the productivity of word forming itself not acceptable or unused by English native speaker, therefore, there was being a previous form that more simply to express their form, function, and meaning. It means that blocking was occurred due to productivity of morphology. The word forming itself produced two expression in use, whether it was acceptable or not acceptable.The two characteristics as well occurred in lexicon or phrase of sentence level. The lexicon undergoes blocking wherein morphology processing result has potential which was blocked by other actual lexicons. The actual lexicon was to represent its form, function, and meaning so that it was more simply. The word forming phenomenon was occurred by some factors, there were phonology lexicalization, morphology lexicalization, semantic morphologically, and syntactic productivity.

Terdapat beberapa pendekatan atau metode dalam pembelajaran kooperatif, salah satunya adalah metode Jigsaw. Model pembelajaran "Kooperatif Jigsaw" yaitu suatu metode pembelajaran yang mengkondisikan siswa belajar dalam kelompok, bertanggung jawab atas penguasaan materi belajar yang ditugaskan kepadanya, kemudian mengajarkan bagian tersebut kepada anggota kelompok yang lain. Terdapat berbagai jenis pembelajaran yang membutuhkan media dalam penyampaiannya, salah satunya adalah pembelajaran mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia. Mata kuliah Bahasa Indonesia cocok untuk menggunakan metode jigsaw karena materi yang ada di dalam mata kuliah tersebut membutuhkan metode diskusi dalam penyampaiannya. Proses pembuatan media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia ini harus melalui tahapan analisa dan perancangan. Oleh karena itu, analisis dan perancangan akan dibuat dengan detail dalam dokumen perancangan, yang sering disebut dengan Spesifikasi Kebutuhan Perangkat Lunak (SKPL) dan dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan Deskripsi Perancangan Perangkat Lunak (DPPL). Metode pengembangan yang digunakan sesuai dengan unsur-unsur yang terkandung di dalam jenis-jenis dokumen tersebut. Berdasarkan analisa dan perancangan yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem yang dirancang sudah menggunakan konsep dan tahapan pembelajaran dengan metode Jigsaw, sehingga dapat dijadikan media pembelajaran sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Abstract Learning can be done individually or in groups. There are several approaches or methods in cooperative learning, one of which is a method of Jigsaw. Learning model "Cooperative Jigsaw" which is a method of learning that conditioned the students learn in a group, are responsible for mastering the learning material that is assigned to him, then teach that section to the other group members. There are various types of learning that require media in its delivery, one of which is the subject of learning Indonesian. Indonesian courses suitable for using jigsaw for the material that is in the course require discussion in its delivery method. The process of making learning Indonesian media have to go through the stages of analysis and design. Therefore, the analysis and design will be made to detail in the design document, which is often called the Software Requirements Specification (SKPL) and continued with the manufacture of Software Design Description (DPPL). The development method used in accordance with the elements contained in these kinds of documents. Based on the analysis and design that has been done, it can be concluded that the system has been designed using the concepts and stages of learning with Jigsaw method, so it can be used as a medium of learning as a learning tool Indonesian.

The title of this research was Borrowing Technique in the Translation of Bali Live Magazine into Indonesian. The analysis focused on the borrowing techniques used to render foreign elements into Indonesian language in a printed advertisement. The data in this analysis were cited and grouped based on the borrowing techniques used to translate the source language into the target language using the borrowing technique proposed by Molina & Albir (2000:84). In this analysis, the borrowing technique used to translate the source language into the target language included two borrowing techniques, namely: (1) full absorption of words without any modification of pronunciation (pure borrowing), (2) the implementation of naturalized borrowing technique indicating a modification of pronunciation.

The result of this study saw that semantic has important role at involving to be understandable by the reader. In novel, it was applied a figurative languages, which dominates the reader to be interested and knowing more about the story was. The title of this paper is “Kinds of Figurative Language Found in Printed Advertisement.” In analyzing the figurative languages in these advertisements, I applied the theory from L. Larson in his book entitled Meaning Based Translation as the main theory and as the supporting theories I took the theories from a book entitled Matriculation English Course written by Neisfield and David Nunan in his book entitled Discourse Analysis. In this theory I also found a lot of discussion discussing about figurative language. Some other supporting books that relevant to the topic are also used to assist the analysis. These issues may be exacerbated when recruiting vulnerable populations, such as participants with mental health issues. We aimed to update understanding of the scope of these problems in trials of health technology and identify possible solutions through reflecting on experiences from an exemplar trial (Online Remote Behavioural Intervention for Tics; ORBIT). Method We extracted anonymised data on recruitment, retention and requests for more funding and time from trials funded by the largest funder of health technology trials in the UK (the National Institute of Health Research Health Technology Assessment) between 2010 and 2020, and compared these with data from a recent, successful trial (ORBIT). Balinese language vocabulary in agriculture could be divided into 2 types, i.e. traditional and modern agricultural. Related to the separation, the agriculture vocabulary that would have to be understood by the younger generation e.g. Balinese speakers was the vocabulary of traditional agriculture field. For example, the word arit 'sickle', pacul 'hoe', tenggala 'tool for plowing a rice field', manyi 'harvest' and the other have been very rarely used recently by Balinese language speakers. Due to the existence of the traditional and modern vocabulary, the research on agricultural vocabulary was conducted. The problems of the research that were analyzed i.e. 1) Traditional Balinese language vocabulary in agricultural field that is still used in Desa Canggu, North Kuta Subdistrict, Badung Regency, 2) the change of them and 3) the farmer's attitude in village towards the change. Guidelines recommend that behavioural therapy should be offered as first-line treatment for children with tics. However, there are very few trained behaviour therapists for tics and many patients cannot access appropriate care. This trial investigates whether an internet-delivered intervention for tics can reduce severity of symptoms.Methods and analysisThis parallel-group, single-blind, randomised controlled superiority trial with an internal pilot will recruit children and young people (aged 9–17 years) with tic disorders. The method used was a survey by randomly asking the students in Pritchard English Academy (PEACE) to fill out a questionnaire which adapted from Attitude Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) designed by R.C. Gardner. The questionnaire was administered to a group of 30 students who come from intermediate until advanced level. The data were analyzed by using SPPS program. It was used to find out mean score and standard deviation. The main findings show that the students are relative “highly” motivated and found to be slightly more “instrumentally” motivated to learn English. This reveals that instrumental motivation is a significant factor among this group of students learning English. Based on this study’s findings, some relevant and useful motivational learning implications are recommended for enhancement and improvement of the students’ motivation.

Case marking is the mechanisms that involve morphological forms (e.g. affixes or function words (e.g. ad position) which express the semantic roles or grammatical relations of the NPs in the clause (Song, 2001). The discussion of case marking in this paper include possessive marking, transitive and intransitive, Indonesian affixed verb based on noun, active and passive voice. Since there are loads of affixation processes in Indonesian which do not seem exist in English, case marking forms in Indonesian are worth analyzing in terms of how transfer of meaning takes place. Having done the analysis, it is found that case marking form in Indonesian is transformed into another form in English to transfer the meaning. The finding demonstrates clearly that languages in the world have their uniqueness that makes translation a challenging and interesting activity.

The paper was not designed to criticize any officers' roles or duties but intends to investigate who should be responsible for maintaining adequate standards within universities. The paper started by elucidating from the extant literature issues relating to quality and how it has been perceived in the Nigeria university context. The paper uses a qualitative approach with interview as the main research instrument. The study uses purposive sampling method to selected 9 universities located in different part of Southwest area in Nigeria, 3 of each from the 3 main owners (federal, state, private). The findings reveal that responsibility for the failing standard of university education in Nigeria is no-one's responsibility but everyone's business.

Article searching is the process to find the appropriate article based on user description or key... more Article searching is the process to find the appropriate article based on user description or keywords. For the traditional article searching, user types keywords then press the button and the result presents, but unfortunately the process needs more time and the search result is not accurate based on user keywords. Query suggestion makes it easy to search the data without submitting the data in a traditional way. There are several methods that can be used in query suggestion thus it is necessary to know which method should be used. This paper describes the comparison between MySQL pattern matching and Jaccard similarity for query suggestion with the parameters, they are processing time, the proximity of keywords with the suggestion, the proximity ratings and sorted from nearest data, the strength of data retrieval based on the number of words entered, and the strength of data retrieval from a number of data that can be suggested. MySQL pattern matching and Jaccard similarity can be used as query suggestion with the processing time is 2.5 milliseconds for MySQL pattern matching and 7 milliseconds for Jaccard similarity with 492 articles. Query suggestion using MySQL pattern matching takes an average of 1.8 milliseconds for 100 articles, 2 milliseconds for 200 articles, 2.175 milliseconds for 300 articles, while Jaccard similarity 3.175 milliseconds for 100 articles, 4.025 milliseconds for 200 articles, 5.05 milliseconds for 300 articles. Proximity ratings for MySQL Pattern Matching cannot be calculated since there is no counting process, but in Jaccard similarity the system displays 0.8 for jaccard index and display 1 for jaccard index if the keywords are 100% similar to the data on database. The result of this study is Jaccard similarity query suggestion produces more accurate search result but has a longer processing time than MySQL pattern matching.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan suatu studi kasus yang mengkaji tentang kualitas terjemahan teks... more ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan suatu studi kasus yang mengkaji tentang kualitas terjemahan teks Krsna dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan efektivitasnya terhadap masyarakat. Metode yang diterapkan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik pengumpulan datanya dengan wawancara serta observasi, sehingga studi ini mengambil aspek afektif yang langsung melibatkan para pembaca dari teks tersebut dan aspek obyektif yakni terjemahan itu sendiri guna mendapatkan hasil penelitian yang diharapkan. Hasilnya dipaparkan secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan teori sosiolinguistik. Teori motivasi dan perubahan sosial dijadikan pisau untuk menjawab beberapa pertanyaan dalam penelitian ini. Simpulan dari penelitian ini dijelaskan sebagai berikut: (1) Faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas terjemahan itu bergantung pada siapa yang menerjemahkan dan kepada siapa terjemahan itu dibaca. (2) Teks Krsna mempunyai dampak yang sangat signifikan terhadap padangan dari penganut ajaran-ajaran Krsna, ini terjadi karena adanya kesadaran yang mendalam terhadap wujud Tuhan sebagai Krsna yang merupakan Personalitas Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, (3) Nilai yang terkandung dalam teks Krsna mendasari penganutnya untuk hidup vegetarian, karena ajaran ini menekankan sebuah rasa kasih sayang yang sangat besar kepada semua makhluk hidup di dunia.
