The United Nations is one of the most important international organisations promoting such values... more The United Nations is one of the most important international organisations promoting such values as human rights, sovereignty and justice, and when it comes to the Security Council - international peace and security. The United Nations is the main international body to which countries turn to in the presence of a crisis or war. Even though the organisation seeks to ensure the mentioned values, it is being criticised and is offered reforms, which are seen as necessary in order to maximise the potential to succeed, yet it seems to have difficulties in finding ways for improvement. The thesis presents the object of the thesis - Russia’s veto in the United Nations Security Council between the years 2007 – 2019. This report will outline and explain Lithuania’s labor-related Covid 19 legislation. It will also... more This report will outline and explain Lithuania’s labor-related Covid 19 legislation. It will also analyze the effectiveness of these measures and make suggestions for possible improvements. Once again, while it is the hope of the authors that the coronavirus pandemic is a one time event that will soon be behind us, unfortunately there is no guarantee that either of these propositions will be true. Consequently, it is important to examine Lithuania’s response to the pandemic in the field of labor law to determine what is and is not effective, either to make corrections while the current crisis is ongoing or to present a better model for the next crisis.

Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara saved thousands of lives by issuing transit visas to Jews in Li... more Japanese diplomat Chiune Sugihara saved thousands of lives by issuing transit visas to Jews in Lithuania in 1940, enabling them to escape to Japan and then other, safer destinations, thereby evading the horrors of the Holocaust. While Sugihara’s story has been the subject of extensive research, the question of the legality of his actions, and their broader implications for the development of international law, has not been thoroughly addressed.
