Lauren Pressley | Virginia Tech (original) (raw)
I am a librarian, educator, and technologist interested in how people find and understand information. My articles have focused on education, instructional technology, and some philosophy. I am also interested in strategic thinking, advocacy, the library’s role in the teaching and research missions of the university, and mentoring new and emerging professionals in the field. I particularly enjoy helping people think about the changing information landscape and what it means for them as consumers and producers of information.

Librarians at Wake Forest University began experimenting with Wikipedia as a platform for sharing and expanding the library's Web presence in relation to its digital collections. They identified strategies for how librarians can effectively use Wikipedia to make their collections known on the Internet.
