This is a community for people suffering from depression, dysthymia, OCD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, anorexia, bulima, schizophrenia, MPD/DID, and other mental illnesses. Feel free to post whatever you want about your struggles--feelings, treatments, advice, support for other members, whatever. If you have overcome your illness, we'd love to hear about it! If you think you may have a mental illness, we are here to help. If you have questions about medication, therapy, or anything else, I will try my best to answer them.

Oh, and under no circumstances will I tolerate any posts about how mental illness is "all in your head" and we should just "snap out of it." For many people, mental illness is just that, an illness with a biological basis, and we can't make it "go away" any easier than someone with cancer can make a tumor disappear.

And now, a little about me, your community maintainer...I was diagnosed with dysthymia and anxiety disorder in June of 2003. I am currently taking Zoloft and Xanax, and I have also taken Effexor. I am also planning to start talk therapy in the near future. I'm a graduate student and a nanny. I also have a family history of dysthymia and major depression.
