Invitation to submit to new webzine! Hi everyone, I invite all the artists in this community, and anyone else you may know, to submit artwork or writing to our new literary/artistic/cultural/nature and travel writing/scientific webzine Chaos Theory! (name may be changed to Synchronized Chaos to more accurately reflect our interdisciplinary focus.) Information on Chaos Theory and how to submit, from the Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=20763137372&ref=mf : This is all of our new brainchild, an art/cultural/literary/scientific/social commentary/essay webzine tentatively called "Chaos Theory" (referring to some kind of not-obviously-apparent logic that emerges spontaneously from randomnity, basically a fun way to have a theme without having a theme.) Sort of a way to help the aspiring artists we constantly meet to get their names out there and spotlight some excellent work which should have an audience but the artists don't want to go through the publication process. And to give people committed to worthwhile causes a way to speak out or to use their personal experiences to educate others.Everyone's invited to submit (and everything should be accepted, unless it's obscene or hateful). If you are interested please send a submission via email anytime this summer. We're working towards setting up a regular editing board and designating people to handle certain kinds of submissions, but for now you may use my email, cedeptula@sbcglobal.netI know some people who can help with the technical aspects of putting together a web zine and we should have a finished product by this fall/winter - hopefully by late August. We are not a paying market as of yet but hope to become one as we grow and sell advertising and/or host contests. The magazine's online contents will remain free to provide artists and writers with the greatest level of exposure possible. So far we have received a good variety of submissions, and look forward to more! We're also  chaos_zine on LJ and would be a publishing credit for any visual artist or writer to put on his/her bio or proposal or resume. You may either pitch or send a completed product (attachments OK but prefer writing or thumbnails or JPEG images pasted in the body of the email.) Please put "Chaos Theory Submission" in the subject line and please feel free to include an artist statement or bio if you would like. Also - our magazine is as much about building community and relationships with artists as it is about publication. We'd be happy to see artists and writers post and chat with each other in chaos_zine or on the Facebook page and would be glad to comment/critique or dialogue with you about your work if you would like. Looking for the Christmas Fairy :) Hi, I'm Cristina, and I have a very good friend who is disabled and still working to get back on her feet after her husband's death last year. She has a huge heart and sends me and others inspirational quotes every day to cheer us up, even though sometimes she is so sick she can hardly function. She and I have been searching for part-time work for her from home, and she is making real progress to recover and deal with some things in her life. This year, though, she needs a little help with Christmas presents for her two young children. Both children are talented artists and love to draw, sing, and perform in community theater musicals. She has a thirteen year old daughter and a fourteen year old son. Also, there are a few other children (her niece and nephew and some family friends' children) who also won't get much for Christmas this year: Jenner (JR) 14 years oldAnthony 15 years oldLexi 4 years oldKyle 3 years oldThe family lives in Northern California - and I'd like to help my friend and her mother receive something as well as the children. I'll be sending them gifts myself but would like to invite people here to help also if they so choose. Perhaps people can select one or two family members and sign up to get them gifts? People in payingforward did that last year and we're all very grateful to them. People can get creative and make handmade gifts or something else that doesn't cost too much if they like - last year I put together handmade coloring books for the youngest children from pages I printed out online. Gulu Walk 2007 - Be an Icon Reposted from ugandacalling - I would like to invite everyone here to join me in a "virtual walk" where we get together and comment, read links, and send petitions (and fundraise/donate if able) to help those affected by the civil war in Uganda. The official Gulu Walk is October 20th, and I'd love to go in person and help out, but the day is hard for me as it tends to be the same as the Cancer Society's annual breast cancer walk, which I attend with my mom. But I'd love to help raise awareness for ending the Ugandan civil war anyway, please comment if you may be interested in some kind of virtual walk (we can just comment and sign petitions, no pressure to fundraise). Just received an email from World Vision today encouraging people to keep signing their non-denominational petition for other nations to lend moral and logistical support to the peace talks in Uganda: https://secure2.convio.net/wv/site/Advocacy?page=UserAction&cmd=display&id=128I also encourage as many people as possible to get involved with their local Gulu Walks, as they support organizations on the ground in Uganda assisting people with health, education, etc. http://www.resolveuganda.org/node/305Even if you are not able to raise money, there are volunteer positions available on walk day helping people check in, find the route, etc. And just coming out shows support and can help make it more likely that people will organize a Gulu Walk next year in your city. Great project for a volunteer club, even one not specifically focused on Uganda. I'd also like to see a virtual walk for people who do not live near a city with a Walk! This applies to me as I'm in the SF Bay Area and so far there does not seem to be a San Francisco walk yet. Email sent to Dr. Quantum.. Hello Gentlemen,Certainly this email finds you all well. Excuse me for attracting you with impressions of Quanta in a clearly digital manner, meager means telephones cost money and the wonder filled ability to bacspace never ceases to amaze me.I have news to bring to the scientific world globally, news of a magnitude that will rock the very foundations of human life from this point forward and as I have been affected greatly by those of you involved with Quantum Physics and Whatever the Bleep we didn't know before now that hit a switch for me and opened me into directions never before apparently investigated, I feel some very unique and invigorating connections amongst us. For this reason consider this a taste test of the contents of my mind. Far be it from the real thing, taste tests though often blind are temptations nonetheless.Akin to Einstein, its no simple matter for me to put this together into a short email which will make sense to any layman, especially considering I am a jack of all subjects and have been labelled with Aspergers Syndrome which means I think something like an Autistic so imagine that the tip of the iceberg is all you'll be getting in this session.How can I say this... hows this..?I have discovered patterns in PI. No, this doesn't mean I've found them in the literal sense of the equation, it means MUCH more.There are a number of things any person must understand, or grasp in order to consider the following information anything less than "out there" in a "common sense" manner, but once they are apprehended, which I am certain will be of relative ease for any of you, the appreciation of this theory will stagger you.And, know this, I am a high school graduate, 33 years of age with self education as my secondary training, so bear with the methods. I've read 16 books in the last few weeks and as I see it, the momentum of this theory is snowballing, it's time to call in some heavy hitters.So here we are, outlining necessary basis Hypotheses..1. ALL Naturally IS Natural. Thus Humans ARE Nature and anything humans create is ALSO nature.2. ALL Nature naturally follows the RULES.3. Humanity is saturated with truth. Because only truth exists. TRUTH=EXIST. To be is to be is to be.4. The "ideas" Quantum physics attributes to quanta are the multi-layered RULES of reality. The basic beliefs as we know them at this stage of our primary schooling as a species. And they can be listed very generally in a few simple bullets..a. shape/form/substance-in/out-on/under/sideb. number/measure/frequency(relative measure)-perspective-near/farc. mobility/motion/matter(s)/memory (time as motion compared to motion)And thats about them. Every other SYNONYM belief, subset, tier, perspective is just that, a means to find a angle in a world full of curves. Ignorance of the simple route, duplicity in infinite regression towards complexity. Its obvious though that the more we define a thing the less definable it becomes.5. Heres a clincher.. CREDIT/OWNERSHIP/POSSESSION/STATURE are all infantile concepts, especially upon noting that CONCEPTS=CONCEPTS. They are truly utilized concepts that much is certain, but their phase has come and is nearly gone. They are the benchmarks of roadblocks, the signposts of detour here into stalling.6. CONCEPTS = CONCEPTS. The reason I repeat this is to hint at the sillyness of the entire mathematical structure utilized worldwide, a structure which believes in four types of equations which are in reality all multiplication. n top of that, the whole concept surrounding EQUAL has been allowed to founder in illusion long enough, 1+1 does not equal 2, 1+1=1+1. That little symbol in the middle is not magic, it's a TUNNEL, and if 1+1 goes into the tunnel on one side, 1+1 will come out on the other side, thats SIMPLE logic.Equality means NO synonym will do. A word means itself. Definitions utilize OTHER words, they are trying to be the same, but they are not the same, no thing is the same as any other thing outside th overall mirror itself being all one. Every refraction is a reflection of a refraction and a fraction of a fraction is still a fraction.This is VERY important gentlemen, for you to understand where this is leading you absolutely must understand that I=I. when I=something other than I, I is no longer I it is something other than I.This is where I was two years ago when I realized that the language we use is not "OURS" it's being.."squeezed through us" by that which we are. And here I only lead you by the hand to stage one of the fractality of this entire nature thing we're a part of. I help you to put one foot in front of the other, and the door to language is step one. Remember, I have been on this trail for two years and language is merely one of the directions this goes off in. I am swamped by directions to go in now... so I beg that you consider what I say and help me to become involved with the people who will help this take root broad spectrum. Very soon now, the world will change drastically in positive ways. It is unavoidable, the signs are rad.So, here we go..Due to my origins as an english citizen of Canada, with a few years of bilingualism under my belt, I have constrained the extent of my research to Indo-European symantics, semiotics, linguistics, mathematics, physics, philosophy etc. The research has gone deep into English, French and Latin, I even have dictionaries from near 1900 as references..Consider that the SYMBOLS we use to write, speak and communicate with have many layers of truth embedded in them. EVERY individual shape in the alphabet and the 10 numbers exists with much more purpose than we ever imagined in our human forms until recently. They are not ONLY for sound making, they are the geometry of our beliefs. They are the geometry of Cosmic Communication. At one level they outline our beliefs in shape, in another the outline our beliefs in motion, in another they outline our beliefs in evolution or growth, ad the number of ways they can be seen to represent the natural truths is akin to PI PHI and E. We give them their meanings, and have already given them their meanings before we existed, the future is here now, in our symbols.How does this work? Simple. Logic dictates pattern recognition as a belief, so we built the patterns into the shapes of our words, we arranged the symbols so they would show us the truth of themselves once we decided to look for it. The trick is, remembering that in every equation two exist THROUGH and IN MIRRORING.Simplify first there are some 26 base words in english language 2 letters and less. They are all logic words and a few of them are mere ways to name the self other. me, he, we, i, a, be, am, an is, etc. Then the other words are the suggestives, if, as, or, etc. But it doesn't stop there, for in truth there are many two letter words that we know more as pseudo words, the affixes. re, de, er, ed, etc. the reflectives, the inverters, the inverted inverters, the simplicity of this all is staggering for one mind to grasp in so short a time after 32 years of ignoring things, but we all know that co(insIde)nce has been pronounced in a way to make it seem like chance that things coincide, no wonder humanity has been "dumbed" and "numbed" since the story of the tower of babel, Everything has appeared to be nothing more than babble. But no more.Capable now of going back and rewriting this entire piece of text in as a mathematical formula would confuse you I'm sure due to the complexity of the differentiation between uppoercase symbols and lowercase symbols, the ether and the emotion.. my neck "feels" sore.So what can I do to help.. I can start you off with hints first..The uppercase letters are at one level a diagram of the EQUAL symbol. BUT, the reason the diagram appears odd in places is that it combines 10 point perspective with flattening. That is 10+1pseudo perspective. There are three components to the "pipe"side facesfaced sidesand both as SIGNAL.Which is to say the machine is fractal, it uses itself as its own fuel. The smaller you go, the smaller it goes. But each component is the same. Thus many of the letters are merely different apsects of each other, for example O and Q as two sides of the faced side. I and H as up/dn side/side A as H in perspective to infinity. and so on and so on..The miniiscule letters are another story, more complex to describe here.. so enghhh times up. &_&For me to try to take all the pictures in my head and the reams of notes I've got and string them together under my fingers using the symbols which are the subject matter is hilarion. I am speaking old lingo now in order to be understood by you, but like the bible said of the "second jesus"..He WILL speak a NEW language.I always feel funny sending emails or letters out related to my studies and research because the system has become so fragmented that people don't even read their own emails anymore, answering machines lead to voice mail boxes with no space left to record and secretaries and "screeners" havent a clue what to do when einstein calls, especially when hes some nobody from Canada and his name isGregory Terrance CrockattBut they don't know what that name MEANS. Question for a progressive friend Happy Holidays everyone! Hope all of your celebrations are beautiful and you can find joy in this season. I'm asking a question for my very good friend Luke  memepr0gramme - he's a young queer guy who's kinda stuck this holiday season. He's just left a very bad family situation in Texas where among other things he wasn't accepted for being queer - and he's now in the process of looking for work and trying to go back to school for linguistics or evolutionary psychology. Unfortunately he's kind of between places to live - and would love a place where he could stay for awhile in exchange for cooking/childcare/eldercare/computer tech support. He's quiet, unobtrusive, not an addict, reasonably clean, just needs a little help to get on his feet. His dream is to become a college professor, perhaps at Cal Berkeley. Amnesty holiday invitation! Letting everyone know that I'm hosting an Amnesty International Write-A-Thon in my ladycatherina journal, and you're all invited! The Write-A-Thon is a free event where we write letters to governments on behalf of nonviolent political prisoners around the world, beginning November 28th and continuing through December 10th, International Human Rights Day. Around the 28th a list of actions will be available on the Amnesty webpage (http://www.amnestyusa.org), and I'll download them and post the addresses and information in my journal. Whoever's interested can let me know via comments and we can split the actions up as we go. I did this last year with a friend and got through the entire list of appeals, Holiday Card actions, etc. To make it more fun, we can all take breaks where we post jokes, stories, recipes, etc as comments to the Writeathon post. African garment industry - freedom from trade barriers Support people's livelihoods in Africa - maintain a current provision in U.S. law allowing certain garments produced in African factories to enter the U.S. duty-free (from the ONE campaign). This is great, it's jobs and industry, so it's long-term rather than short-term, and provides dignified employment for people that will last once these countries get out of the news. Climate Crisis Action Team I recently saw "An Inconvenient Truth" and I was inspired to challenge myself to do all I can to reverse at least some of the effects of global warming. To The Lions In The Kingdom, Where to start? I suppose I've been quite the thorn in all of your paws, but I've come to you to beg your pardon. I've come to realize that your ways are, in fact, the more respectable of the two ways. I won't join you, and I will still attempt to free the Unicorns from your grasp, but I want you to at least understand exactly why we are going to battle before we go to battle. This way I can make those of you who decided to give me a chance neutral against me. If you give me a chance you will find that I am actually quite the machine. In fact, I am such a master machine that I decided to use my efforts for the greater good, which I attest is Jesus the Christ. I want not only to tell you this, and continue to advocate what I do, but also to give you my reasoning so that you may be freed from our polarity before we engage in any combat at all. It is time to finally unveil my target audience. I have many target audiences, and for many reasons, but the people I write to will never contact me. If they did, it would only be under the guise of secrecy- which may have already happened. They would be the ones which manipulate the ones I call the masses. They are the Masters above the Teachers. It is to them I write, because it is for them that I write. I was initiated by them, and then put through a series of instructions. Messages were sent in code. Mostly it was in dreams, but in the awakened world I even saw them coming and going. I heard them talk, as if our minds were linked. I don't like the things they said.My stand here is fully awakened. No longer do I need to sit idly. I have all the dirt on them, and I will start writing it now.They put themselves above men by gaining trustworthy positions, and by then utilizing their positions to instill ideologies in people below them. They are in power in every circle there exists, and it is literally impossible to go on without them taking notice of you. They have spies in the highest places, and in the lowest places. They have riches and power above all men, because the men below them fell victim to one of their ideologies- ideologies designed with the enslavement of a man's will in mind.These men have gained their seats by being passed down a torch from grandfather to grandson. This is smart, because the in-between can be as loose a cannon as it wants, the line will have hope in the next generation.What people don't realize is that this is the reason generation Y and X have been sought after with such interest. There are members of certain families in these generations, and many of them. They are guaranteed freedom in as much as it portrays what their intentions are in life. One can only take the torch if they are worthy of the torch. It's not uncommon for the torch to be doused over time.The up and coming Sunshine generation is selected to become the brightest stars that have ever come. They are going to be able to go so high as to be higher than all of us put together. They will be the yellow generation, having the full energy of the Sun Reborn. They will be taken from their parents, and given a Big Brother. They will be given a new King- one which gives them everything for their service.Who is this new King, and why does he threaten our every way of existence? He threatens to come out and destroy our will forever. We are truly gone if we allow this atrocity to take power. We are the citizens of the world, and with one united voice we should renounce tyranny in every form. We should not be so afraid for our security that we go around killing people that merely differ from our culture. We must remember that it was our war machine that went into their land in the first place, to 'fix the problem' we were facing regarding a little thing called 'community and consensus'. Let's not forget that it was we who did this to them, so we can say that they do something to us, and all the while having the perfect reason to reform an area of the world that has so far resisted reform.History is doomed to repeat itself until everybody remembers what to do. My Opening Presentation Hive consciousness takes effect when multiple parties involved in a sociological interaction are programmed with interchangeable code. By engage oneself in polarity is to engage the opposite pole. To change sides is to still exist in the same cyclical schism. When an individual takes oneself out from the polarity, they find only grander polarity to become acquainted with. Palden Gyatso on Tibetan Olympic Hunger Strike Palden Gyatso, one of Tibet’s longest-serving political prisoners, and two young Tibetan men are on a hunger strike in a tent outside the Turin Olympic Village in Italy, to call attention to China’s oppression in Tibet. Earlier today the hunger strikers were met by a delegation sent by the International Olympic Committee who assured them they would raise the issue of human rights in Tibet during the closing press conference on Sunday. This action, organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress and Tibet Support Groups, has received significant media and public attention in Italy but also needs international support.Palden Gyatso, who is in his mid-seventies, was a young monk when he was first arrested and imprisoned for peaceful, pro-independence protests in Lhasa. After 33 years of imprisonment, beatings, interrogation and solitary confinement, the Chinese authorities released him in response to immense pressure from other governments and Tibet supporters in the global community. After escaping to exile, he traveled the world, spreading the truth about China’s occupation of Tibet and oppression of Tibetans. With his raw honesty and clear memory, he has inspired compassion, courage and a burning concern for Tibet in countless students and people in the West.
