An Evaluation of Snorkeling Satisfaction At Pulau Payar Marine Park, Kedah, Malaysia
Continuous growth in the number of tourists at the Marine Parks in Malaysia has resulted in uncontrolled number of tourists, sometimes surpassing the carrying capacity of the site. Such situation has resulted in reduced quality of visitor experience and satisfaction level at the Marine Parks. By taking Pulau Payar Marine Park as an example, this study aims to evaluate snorkeling satisfaction on 259 selected respondents at the marine park. The measurement of snorkeling satisfaction is based on the mean analysis, i.e. the importance mean (expected mean) and the satisfaction mean (perceived mean). The results showed that the perceived mean is less than the expected mean for all attributes except for 'fish feeding activity'. Over sixty eight percent were satisfied with the environmental service quality offered by the Marine Park, but several issues need to be managed by the Marine Park Department. Suggestions, such as limiting the number of visitors to the park, improving public facilities and solid waste management of the park to protect the island and its sustainability were introduced. This study highlights the importance of site management in environmentally sensitive areas, for marine park managers and tour operators towards developing better service quality for a quality visitor experience.
Determinant Factors And Tourist Satisfaction Index: A Case Study At The Pulau Kapas Marine Park.

This paper has two main objectives which are, to identify services that affect tourist satisfaction level and estimate tourist satisfaction index at the Pulau Kapas Marine Park (TLPK), a tourism destination in Malaysia. To meet these objectives, a set of questionnaire was used as an instrument to collect primary data from tourists visiting TLPK. The questionnaire consisted of 46 items pertaining to services provided in TLPK and tourist impression of TLPK as a tourism destination. Information on specific and general satisfaction level regarding each item and socio demographic profiles of tourists were also collected. Data collected was analyzed using two computer packages namely the Statistical Package for Social Science (SSPSS 19.0) and AMOS (5.0). Factor analysis test was conducted on all the 46 items of which only 18 items were finally selected. The items were classified into 4 categories and used in a multiple regression model to estimate tourist satisfaction. The 4 service categories/elements were i) diversity of tourism products ii) supporting services iii) overall trip and iv) level of safety. The result shows that the most significant element affecting tourist satisfaction or with high correlation value is supporting services (0.90), followed by level of safety (0.87), overall trip (0.868) and diversity of tourism products (0.854). For the overall model, the R-squared value is 65 which mean 65 percent of the tourist satisfaction is due to the four elements of services mentioned. With respect to the satisfaction index, this study finds that the index is at 63.05 percent which can be regarded as a moderate level.
Measurement of Tourists’ Satisfaction in Lake Kenyir of Malaysia

The evaluation of tourist satisfaction is important for ensuring long-term survival in the competitive business environment. This study aimed to measure the tourists' satisfaction in Lake Kenyir, Malaysia from the perception of tourists. The study followed a non-probability convenience sampling technique for the sample selection and interviewed a total of 320 tourists from the study area for primary data collection. Respondents' perception had been studied with 39 statements under seven dimensions of service quality and a generalized linear regression modeling technique was applied to evaluate the respective contribution of the observed dimensions with tourists' satisfaction. Results revealed that responsiveness, tangibles, assurance, empathy, and price dimensions have statistically signicantly related to tourists' satisfaction. Moreover, communication and environment dimensions do not have a signicant contribution to tourists' satisfaction. Various steps should be taken for increasing tourists' satisfaction in Lake Kenyir such as, maintain sustainability and environmental quality, increase facilities, eective marketing.

The main objective of this study is to identify international tourist satisfaction towards tourism activities and tourist facilities in Mamutik Island, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Mamutik Island is located in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park and it can be reached in 20 minutes by boat from Jesselton Point, Kota Kinabalu City. The main tourist activities of Mamutik Island are scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and marine lives observing. There are various tourist services and facilities provided by the Island management such as jetty, toilet, picnic and barbeque area, sun bathing kits and stalls. However, study on international tourist satisfaction towards these activities and facilities on this island were limited. Therefore, a survey method through questionnaire was applied in this study. There were two sets of questionnaires used for data collection in English and Mandarin languages. A total number of 150 international tourists were surveyed in this study. The findings indicate that majority of the international tourists are satisfied with the tourist activities and facilities of the island. However, there are certain aspects that should be considered by the management in order to increase the level of international tourist satisfaction such as to increase number of toilet and facilities, interesting tourist activities and provide scuba diving equipment at reasonable prices. Thus, this study is significant to indicate how the distinctiveness of tourist activities and quality of facilities can ensure international tourist loyalty to revisit tourist destinations in Sabah.

This study aims to analyze the effect of (1) Natural Attraction and Eco-Tourisms towards Tourists Satisfaction and (2) Tourists Satisfaction Towards their Revisit Intention. This research was conducted in West Sumatra, spesifically in Bukittinggi, Padang, 50 Kota and Tanah Datar. The determination of the number of samples is carried out proportionally and an met accidentally on 500 people respondents. Hypothesis testing is carried out using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. This research investigated the effects of resort service quality, location quality and environmental practices on the loyalty of guests. Data were collected from 529 guests of river and lake resorts in Peninsular Malaysia. Partial least square technique was used in analysing the data. Results indicate that guest loyalty is affected by the quality of service and location of resorts, as well as their environmental practices. These results suggest that well-trained staff, prompt service and sufficient information on the tourism attributes of the resort are crucial to providing guests with high-quality service. The findings are useful for policymakers and resort managers in terms of enhancing the understanding of the combined effects of resort service quality, location quality and environmental practices on guest loyalty. With regard to its theoretical contribution, this study has extended the previous research on the effects of environmental practices on customers' decisions by advancing the understanding of the relationship between resort environmental practices and guest loyalty.

In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014 theme “Celebrating 1Malaysia Truly Asia” as a great platform event for promoting ecotourism sites. In 2012, Malaysia registered 25 million tourist arrives and RM60.6 billion in tourist receipt, as 10th most popular tourism destination in the world. Ecotourism as environmental consciousness that promotes conservation of natural resources. Hence, ecotourism is one of key sectors for, which is committed for utilizing ecotourism potential that helps PTNJ to manage the GLJNLP’s tourism industry. The park approximately 107 sq. km (8,611 hectares) has a very high concentration of ecotourists with the visitors flow on an average is 24,606 visitors yearly from the year 2011 to 2012. The objective of the study is to determine the ecotourists perspective on attitude of ecotourism activities to fulfill their environmental knowledge needs. Ecotourists however are central stakeholder of national parks and a profound understanding of their attitudes towards protected area management is important. The study examined the ecotourists’ attitude via the sociodemographic factors, the Visit Characteristic by Perception Level and factor influence the Satisfaction Level. A quantitative survey was conducted among 213 respondents by using judgmental sampling with close-ended and open-ended questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Multiple Regression Analysis. The findings revealed the relationship between Satisfaction Level at the GLJLNP’s services/activities and Visit Characteristics by Perception Level were statistically not significant (R2=0.0119, P0.05) indicates that researcher can reject the null hypothesis. Because it is likely to be meaningfulness addition to the regression model fits the data because changes in the predictor’s value are not related to changes in independent variable. As a conclusion, the ecotourists’ satisfactions will be improved through develop their positive perceptions and travel experiences via monitoring environmental conditions in the GLNP. However, ecotourists’ visit characteristic by perception are no influencing to their satisfaction.
