EFFECT OF EXAMPLE NON EXAMPLE METHOD IMPLEMENTATION IN SCIENTIFIC APPROACH AND DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL ON VII GRADE STUDENTS AFFECTIVE COMPETENCE IN LEARNING NATURAL SCIENCE.

International Journal of Advanced Research (IJAR), 2019

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes on active learning pattern. However, based on the questionnaire spread in junior high school 18 Padang, it was gotten the result that teachers still have difficulty in implementing it, especially in affective competence of confidence. The affective competence of confidence will encourage students to be active in learning process, both in asking questions and expressing opinion. In cooperative learning, students are provided a vehicle to increase their confidence through presenting their discussion result in front of the class. By considering this issue, there is an alternative solution that can be used by teacher, which is example non example method. This method is one of cooperative learning method. Besides that, it can support the implementation of scientific approach and discovery learning model in learning process. The scientific approach and discovery learning model are the approach and model recommended in the 2013 Curriculum. Purpose of the research was to know effect of example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model on students\' affective competence. It was a quasi-experimental research. It was done in junior high school 18 Padang to grade VII students. The instrument used was written test in form of multiple-choice and essay. Technique of data analysis used Mann Whitney U test. It was done by using SPSS software. The finding shows that example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model has significant effect on students\' affective competence, with sig. value (0.036) <0.05.

Development of Teaching Materials on 7 Objects of Things, Animals and Plants Around Me with Sub-Theme 3 of Living Things at Class 1 Elementary Students Based on Scientific

PENDAS MAHAKAM: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar, 2020

This study aims to find out whether there are differences in learning outcomes of grade 1 elementary school students who use learning supplement books developed in the sub-theme 1 Living Objects Around me with learning outcomes of students who do not use learning supplement books developed in the sub-themes of 1 Living Objects Around Me. use research and development methods. The research and development procedure used is a modification of the Borg and Gall development model which includes seven steps of development namely stage (1) research and information gathering; (2) planning; (3) development of preliminary product forms; (4) preliminary trials; (5) revisions to the main products; (6) the main trial based on the results of the preliminary trial; (7) revision of operational products; (8) trial. operational; (9) final product revisions; and (10) dissemination and implementation. until it becomes the final product of teaching materials that refers to the 2013 curriculum. Effects of science student worksheet of motion in daily life theme in adaptive contextual teaching model on academic achievement of students

Journal of Physics: Conference Series

Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesian has demanded that the integration of the disciplines of science and literacy skills in teaching. However, the real condition shows that the application of integrated science teaching and integration of literacy skills was still become problem in science teaching. A solution to solve this problem is to develop a thematic science student worksheet by integrating literacy to be applied in the adaptive contextual teaching model. The objective of the research is to determine the effect of the science student worksheet of motion in daily life theme on the academic achievement of students. This research was part of the research and development that has been done. The research data were taken on main field testing on a wider scale. The research instrument consists of three parts, namely written knowledge test, attitudes observation sheet, and performance assessment sheet of students. The achievement data of students were analyzed by descriptive statistics, normality test, homogeneity test and comparison test. The result of data analysis stated that the use of the science student worksheet in the adaptive contextual teaching model of motion in daily life theme gives significant effect on knowledge, attitudes and literacy skills of grade VIII students.

Application of the scientific approach to improve the mastery of concepts and science process skills of high school students on work and energy

2018

Mastery of concepts is one of important things to measure achievement of the learning objectives. In mastering the concept of physics, process skills are required. The research used pre-experimental design with one group of pretest-posttest design which aimed to get an overview of improvement of mastery of concepts and science process skills on work and energy after the application of scientific approach in learning. The research instrument consisted of 19 items of concept mastery test shaped the essay, referring to revised Bloom's taxonomy with a reability of 0.64 and student worksheet to measure the students’ science process skills referring to the worksheet developed by Rezba. The instrument is applied to 32 nature students of grade 11 in one of the senior high schools in Bandung which is selected by purposive sampling. The measured concept mastery aspects are related to cognitive aspects based on Bloom's Taxonomy which consists of the aspects of understanding (C2), apply...

The purpose of the study was to find the Effect of Multimedia Techniques of Teaching Science in IX Standard for Developing of Skills and Attitude towards of Science. The sample of the present study includes 100 students studying in IX standard were drawn using a stratified random sampling technique. The study revealed that, i) The result implies that the Multimedia Technique more effective than the Conventional method of teaching for the attainment of Skills in science; ii) The Multimedia Technique is more effective in the achievement of knowledge in science than the Conventional method of teaching.

Increasing the Understanding of the Physical Concept through the Usage of Video based on Natural Phenomena of Students in Grade VIII Mts. As'adiyah Puteri II Sengkang Center

International Journal of Multicultural and Multireligious Understanding

The study is a classroom action research, which aims at describing the comprehension of physics concept using natural phenomenon-based video of grade VIII students at MTs. As’adiyah Puteri II Pusat Sengkang. The research design employed path diagram in classroom action research (an adaptation of classroom action research stage of Mikayla-Exactio Tunujaya & Mumu model). The research subjects were students of grade VIII-1 at MTs. As’adiyah Puteri II Pusat Sengkang. The test of comprehension of physics concept and video of natural phenomenon-based were validated by two experts. Based on the results of the study, it is discovered that there is improving the percentage of comprehension of physics concept using natural phenomenon-based video, namely 34.78% in cycle 1 with 8 students obtain the incomplete score. There is 65.22% with 15 students obtain a complete score in cycle 1. In cycle 2, there is the improvement of comprehension of physics concept to 100% complete with 23 students who ...

Designing of Learning Activity for Explicating Nature of Science

Jurnal Kependidikan: Penelitian Inovasi Pembelajaran

This study was aimed at clarifying the learning activities for explicit Nature of Science (NOS) which provide through context based STS (Science, Technology, Society) learning approach. The study followed the 4-D procedure but in this article only was presented up to the third step. These steps included define, design, and develop. The data were gathered through expert judgment by chemistry educator for product revision. The views of the chemistry teacher were explored through a closed-questionnaire that was analyzed by percentage. One of learning activity plan have arranged. The learning activity with context based STS approach consists of 5 stages including identification of social issues/history, identification of potential solution, need for knowledge, decision-making, and socialization and completion decision stage. Chemistry teachers’ view toward the feasibility of learning activity plan was good. The learning activity was developed with topic a history of the Father of Modern...
