DEVELOPING LEARNING SCIENCE TEACHING MATERIALS BASED ON SCIENTIFIC TO IMPROVE STUDENTS LEARNING OUTCOMES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This research aims to develop learning science teaching materials based on scientific. The methods of this study are a research and development (R & D) by Borg and Gall. The instruments that used to collect data were observation sheets, interview guidelines, scoring questionnaires, and test (pre-test and post-test); To verify the effectiveness of the application of teaching materials using t-test. The results of this study can be concluded: 1) The results of the validation of learning experts obtained the value of 4.76 and a result of expert validation material obtained value 4.39. 2) For the effectiveness of teaching materials obtained an average score pre-test and post-test is obtained tobs = 7.9360> ttable = 2.024, it can be concluded that the test H0 is rejected. It means that the teaching materials developed can improve student learning outcomes.

Development of Science Teaching Books Based on Fun Experiments for Early Childhood (5-6 year-olds) in the Kindergarten of Kutalimbaru Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency

This research is motivated by the availability of textbooks that are not in accordance with the needs and conditions of the child's environment, so that the introduction of science learning for early childhood has not been carried out optimally. The aim of this research is : 1) To know the feasibility of using experimental science-based textbooks is fun for early childhood (5-6 years old) which was developed. 2) To know the effectiveness of the development of textbooks produced in improving cognitive abilities in children aged 5-6 years. The subjects in this study were group B students in the Islamic Kindergarten Integrated MTTQ School Kutalimbaru 2018-2019 of Academic Year, totaling 36 students. This type of research is research and development (R&D). The development of textbooks is based on 4-D model development research (Four D Models) according to Thiagarajan which includes 4 stages namely the defining stage (define), design, development, and disseminate. The research results obtained that (1) The level of feasibility of based science textbooks is fun based on : a) the results of the validation of the material expert on the feasibility of the contents of the developed textbooks are included in the "Good" category. b) Practical results from teachers stated that all teachers need science-based textbooks that are fun experimentation in the learning process because the books provided are not only for students but have guidelines in the form of teacher's books. (2) The results of the effectiveness of the textbooks developed showed that the cognitive abilities of children after using science-based textbooks for experimentation were higher than just using magazines and posters as learning media. Where the average initial value of the child is 50 and the final test increases to 75.50. This proves that there has been an increase in the value of children for cognitive development by 25.50.

Development of Lesson Study Books Specially in Biology Based on Scientific Approaches

Prospective biology teachers need to be well prepared, not only in terms of biology content but also their teaching skills, including lesson study. This study aims to developing a biology lesson study book based on scientific approach. The research method used is research and development by adopting the ADDIE model. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to measure the responses of experts, teachers and students to the quality of the book. This research also pays attention to qualitative (suggestions and comments) and quantitative data. The results showed that the book was considered feasible by experts. Teacher and student responses also showed a positive impact on the use of the book. The test results also showed an increase in learning outcomes. So, the book can be used in classroom learning.

Basic ecology is the basic science that studies the interrelationships between living things and their environment. One of the content in this course is terrestrial ecosystems. The aim of learning this subject is students can carry out experiments (practicum) both in the laboratory or in the UNWAHA environment. This research aims to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of students by applying guide discovery learning in making miniature ecosystems. This research uses a pra experiment design. This research uses a one-group pretest-posttest design research design that is doing a pre-test before implementation and a posttest after implementation. To know the increase of student's cognitive learning outcomes through guide discovery learning, used N-gain test and paired sample ttest. The research instruments used are observation sheets and tests (pre-test and post-test). The results showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of students increased with an average grade of 64 to 84. N-Gain results show that two students of low category, 16 students of moderate category, and three students of high category students. Based on the results of the t-test obtained Sig < 0.05 is 0.00. Then it can be stated that there is a significant difference between the value of pre-test and post-test. In other words, there was an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of discovery learning guide learning. Based on the average class and t-test results, concluded that guided discovery learning can increase student's cognitive learning outcomes.

Needs analysis in the development of natural science teachers’ book of Junior High School based on local wisdom of West Sumatra

Science learning is packed with themes, so that students can see a meaningful relationship between the concepts of science subjects in a comprehensive and integrated manner, but there are still many teaching materials, especially books for science students that are not integrated or are still separated separately by subject. Needs analysis in developing student books for Integrated Science learning is important, because it can be a guideline for developing student books. This study aims to determine the need to develop a book of connected type connected science students integrated with local culture with a theme. The method used is descriptive, by using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire covering student analysis, material analysis, and task analysis. For data analysis techniques performed in the form of scoring using a Likert scale. Based on the results of the analysis concluded that the existing student books have not described the integration specifically and not yet contained local cultural wisdom, which should be developed. Therefore, the researchers concluded that the integrated science students' book type connected integrated with local cultural wisdom needs to be developed for science materials that can be integrated.

Pengembangan Movable Book untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa

Books become a source of student activity and experience, serve as a guide for exploration, and experiment with concrete materials, directing students to be involved in the process and method of inquiry. The book provides direction for directing science experiences. This study aims to develop a feasible and effective movable book to improve students' science process skills. This study was a development research through Borg and Gall development model. The subjects were students and teachers of grade IV elementary school in Ngaglik sub-district Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and tests. Validation of products was carried out by media experts, and material experts. Teachers and students' responses were asked to see the practicality of using the product. Based on the validation, it was known that the movable book was feasible to use. Feasibility in the media aspect obtained a score of 255 with the category "feasible", the material aspect obtained a score of 95 with the category "feasible". The acquisition of teachers' response scores from 109 to 116 with the category "very feasible", the acquisition of student' response scores from 35 to 37.95 with the category "very feasible". The product that was developed effectively improved the science process skills based on the results of independent sample t-test showed a significance level of 0.03 which means <0.05. These results indicate that the movable book was feasible and effective to be used as a learning supplement to improve students' science process skills.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the sixth grade science book based on the biological, physical, and technology areas proposed in the fundamental transformation document of the educational system using William Romey method. As a kind of "content analysis" research, it examines the desired content in terms of specific and predetermined criteria or indicators and measures everything with specified criteria; it is in fact an evaluation study. Instructional Learning Based on Scientific Approach for Elementary School Students

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the needs of teachers and students for scientific approach-based learning media for fourth grade elementary school students. The subjects of this study were 3 teachers and 80 students in Elementary school Purbalingga District. The results of the needs analysis show that teachers still experience difficulties in implementing the 2013 curriculum. Not only that, teachers also lack scientific approach-based learning media to be used in learning activities. For this reason, it is necessary to develop learning media based on a scientific approach. The results of the study indicate that teachers and students need the development of learning media based on a scientific approach. This research went through the literature study and field studies which were carried out using interviews, and media needs questionnaires. The results of the media needs questionnaire show that 64% of respondents really need scientific approach-based learning media to help the learning process and 36% need learning media. based on the scientific approach is expected to be able to streamline the learning process using the 2013 curriculum.

Quiet Book Media Development to Improve Ecosystem Material Learning Results in Class V Elementary School

The objective of this study is to find out (1) Quiet Book media development procedures (2) Feasibility of developing Quiet Book media. This type of research is Research and Development (R & D) research, with a trial design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. A limited-scale trial was carried out on 5 VA class students and a large-scale trial was conducted on 25 VB grade students at the Elementary S chool in Wringinanom village. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires, observations, and tests. Questionnaires are used to obtain student response data, observations are employed to obtain learning implementation data, and tests used are to obtain learning outc omes data on cognitive aspects of students. The results showed that the developed media had been declared feasible by obtaining 92% validity percentage, 93% practicality of learning implementation, and effectiveness of student learning outcomes from pretest to posttest which is 75.04 to 93.52, so that an average increase in scores of 18 was obtained. Effectiveness was also analyzed using N-Gain with Gain value of 0.74. So if it is interpreted in the Normalized Gain index table ac cording to Hake, it is included in the High c ategory (0.70 <g <1.00). Thus, it c an be concluded that the development of Quiet Book media is declared feasible to be used as a learning media.
