Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumlarını değerlendirmeye yöneliktir. Bu amaç çerçevesinde araştırmada kullanılmak üzere 30 maddeden oluşan Öğretmenlik Mesleği Tutum Ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Araştırma örneklemini, 211'i Dicle ve 200'ü Fırat Üniversitesi'nden olmak üzere toplam 411 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin analizinde, ilişkisiz örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi ve scheffe testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları "üniversite" ve "cinsiyet" değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir farklılık göstermezken, "anabilim dalı" değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Araştırmada ulaşılan bir diğer önemli bulgu ise, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının "katılıyorum" düzeyinde olmasıdır.

In this study, the relationship between the general competencies for teaching profession and teacher training programs in Turkey were investigated. The data were collected from 304 undergraduate students studying at a faculty of education in a state university. In order to collect data a scale consisting of the statements in general competencies for teaching profession and a list of elective and mandatory courses in the renewed teacher training program were used. The results revealed that students' competency levels were high. However, the correlation between the competency levels and the GPA of the students was weak. It was also found that preschool teaching department students had significantly higher competency scores than the other students'. Lastly, it was found that the most required course was ‚Teaching Practice I-II‛ and the least required course was ‚The Philosophy of Education‛ from the participants' point of view.

Abstract In this research, it was aimed to assess the proficiencies of teaching and learning and the proficiencies of monitoring and evaluating learning and development process according to views of classroom teachers and pre-service classroom teachers on the basis of general proficiencies of teaching profession. This is a general screening type descriptive study. The universe of the research consists of the classroom teachers working in the central counties of Erzurum and the four-year students at Classroom Teaching Program of Primary Teacher Education Department of Atatürk University Kazım Karabekir Education Faculty, in 2009-2010 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 345 classroom teachers from 41 different schools who were selected by a stratified sampling technique and 79 pre-service classroom teachers that without being subjected to any sampling method. In the study, as the data collection tool, performance indicators pertaining to two main proficiencies pre-determined by the researcher considering the General Proficiencies of Teaching Profession published by the Ministry of National Education were designed as a 5-point Likert scale and used. According to the data obtained in the research, from the general proficiencies of classroom teachers and pre-service classroom teachers, it was inferred that classroom teachers and pre-service classroom teachers found the performance indicators related to “Proficiencies of Teaching-Learning Process and Proficiencies of Monitoring and Evaluating Learning and Development” positive.

Bu çal›flmada ö¤retmen adaylar›n›n mesleki yeterlik alg›lar›, lisansüstü e¤itime yönelik tutumlar› ve ikisi aras›ndaki iliflkinin belirlenmesi amaçlanm›fl-t›r. Bu amaç do¤rultusunda gerçeklefltirilen araflt›rma; Celal Bayar Üniversitesi E¤itim Fakültesi'nde 2010-2011 ö¤retim y›l› bahar döneminde ö¤renim gören üçüncü ve dördüncü s›n›ftaki 494 ö¤retmen aday›n›n kat›l›m›yla gerçeklefltirilen bir tarama çal›flmas›d›r. Araflt›rmada ö¤retmen adaylar›-n›n mesleki yeterlik alg›lar›n›n belirlenmesinde derecelendirilmifl 2 alg› sorusunun yer ald›¤› 'kiflisel bilgi formu' kullan›lm›flt›r. Çal›flman›n di¤er de-¤iflkeni ö¤retmen adaylar›n›n lisansüstü e¤itime yönelik tutumlar›n›n belirlenmesinde ise 'Lisansüstü E¤itime Yönelik Tutum Ölçe¤i' kullan›lm›flt›r. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerle birlikte Kruskall-Wallis testi ve Mann-Whitney U testi kullan›lm›flt›r. Analiz sonuçlar›na göre ö¤retmen adaylar›n›n lisansüstü e¤itime yönelik tutumlar›n›n istek boyutu bak›m›ndan 'orta', ifllev boyutu bak›m›ndan 'iyi' düzeyde oldu¤u sonucuna ulafl›l-m›flt›r. Ö¤retmen adaylar›n›n mesleki yeterlik alg›lar› bak›m›ndan sonuçlara bak›ld›¤›nda ise konu alan› mesleki alg›lar›nda en çok yer ald›klar› düzey %51.6 ile 'orta derecede yeterli' düzeyidir. Mesle¤i s›n›fta uygulama konusundaki yeterlik alg›s› bak›m›ndan da benzer sonuçlar elde edilmifl, ö¤retmen adaylar›n›n büyük ço¤unlu¤unun 'yeterli' ve 'orta derecede yeterli' (toplamda %89.7) düzeylerinde yer ald›¤› sonucuna ulafl›lm›flt›r. Tutum ve alg› de¤iflkenlerinin ikisi aras›ndaki iliflki bak›m›ndan ise ö¤retmen adayla-r›n›n lisansüstü e¤itime yönelik tutumlar›n›n, konu alan› mesleki yeterlik al-g›lar›na göre anlaml› flekilde farkl›l›k gösterdi¤i belirlenmifltir. Ayr›ca istek ve ifllev boyutu bak›m›ndan ayr› ayr› bak›ld›¤›nda da ayn› flekilde anlaml› farkl›l›k oldu¤u görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak mesle¤ini s›n›fta uygulayabilme konusunda ö¤retmen aday›n›n yeterlik alg›s› artt›kça lisansüstü e¤itime yönelik tutumunun da artmakta oldu¤u belirlenmifltir. Bu sonuçlara yönelik olarak baz› önerilerde bulunulmufltur.

For the teacher who is supposed to offer education of values in education system, it is important to regard occupational values as highly critical factors. In this study, we aim to clarify the opinions of prospective teachers as to the level of occupational value. The study is based on scanning model. 295 of all prospective teachers in Denizli was studied for sampling group model. The data was collected with the scale of “the teacher’s occupational values” developed by Tunca (2012). In the study, the Cronbach Alpha value was found 0.95. The prospective teachers attending the study consider “occupational value level” as “very important” with an average of 5.73. While those prospective teachers attending the study agree with “being patriot” with an average of. 5.92, they show the least agreement with “being suspicious” with an average of. 4.63. Meanwhile, concerning the prospective teachers’ opinions as to occupational value level, there is no meaningful in sex, the university they graduate and their branches.
The purpose of this study is to determine teacher candidates' pedagogical competence perceptions and their attitudes about teaching profession. The universe of the study is composed of 500 students registered to Harran University Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program in 2014-2015 academic years, spring term. Out of 500 surveys distributed, only 487 surveys were included in the analysis. Teacher candidates' attitudes about teaching profession were found to be at medium level. Although their attitudes about teaching profession were higher than their pedagogical competence levels, they were not at the expected level. When teacher candidates' pedagogical competence perceptions and their attitudes about teaching profession were analyzed comparatively, the average of their attitudes about teaching profession were found to be higher than their pedagogical competence perceptions. However, their attitudes and pedagogical competence perceptions were not at the expected level. There was found a significant and high level positive relationship between teachers' pedagogical competence perceptions and their attitudes about teaching profession.

Even though the adopted teaching-learning approaches and the curricula that are based on them are subject to change in an educational institution, teaching competencies and attitudes determine the basic quality of the educational system. The study mainly intends to determine the relationship between levels of teacher candidates’ attitude to teaching and levels of their teaching-learning competencies. This study has a survey design as it identifies teacher candidates’ attitudes toward the profession and teaching-learning process competencies, and a relational survey design as it explores whether attitudes toward the profession and teaching-learning competencies correlate or not. As the study aims to make a comparison between social sciences and science-math fields, the data was collected from 387 teacher candidates, whose subject fields can be grouped within these two areas. Teacher opinions about qualities of effective teaching
This study aimed to determine both the importance order of qualities that effective teachers should have and differences between perceptions based on gender, branch and school types. Results indicated that the most important quality perceived by teachers was classroom management. Other qualities were respectively the planning of instruction, personality traits, instruction, and monitoring of student progress. Teachers did not spent enough effort to improve their qualities, and they did not care enough for pupils left behind of class. Classroom teachers attached more importance to classroom management than branch teachers. Researching of why teachers perceive classroom management as the most important quality rather than instruction, why they do not care for professional development and face to face interaction with pupils, and why classroom teachers attached more importance to classroom management than branch teachers are recommended. Also, it is suggested that the preparation and professional development activities of teachers should prioritize trainings of classroom management, instruction and monitoring of student progress.
Özet Bu çalışmada sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının "ideal sınıf öğretmeni" hakkındaki görüşleri ve kendi mesleki yeterlikleri ile ilgili değerlendirmelerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modelinde olan çalışmada açık uçlu sorularla toplanan veriler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara'da bulunan bir devlet üniversitesinin Sınıf Öğretmenliği Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı'nda öğrenim gören ve mezun olmak üzere olan 234 4.sınıf öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Öğretmen adayları, "çocuk sevgisine sahip olma" ve "meslek sevgisine sahip olmanın" ideal öğretmenlerde bulunması gereken en önemli özellikler olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Katılımcıların % 26.5'i "düzenli olarak gazete, dergi ve kitap okumanın" ideal öğretmenlerde bulunması gereken en önemli genel kültür yeterliği olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcıların % 85'i çocukları seviyor olmalarının kendilerinde bulunan en önemli mesleki yeterlik ve mesleki anlamda tecrübesiz olmalarının ise kendilerinde bulunan en önemli mesleki yetersizlik olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. İleride yapılacak olan araştırmalarda mesleğinin ilk yılında çalışan öğretmenlerin ideal öğretmen kavramı ve kendilerinin yeterlikleri-yetersizlikleri ile ilgili görüşlerinin alınmasının literatüre ve öğretmen eğitimcilerine önemli katkılar sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
Evaluation of Teaching Practice Course According to Opinions of Teacher Candidates

The purpose of this study was to specify the opinions of teacher candidates who are in the department of Primary School Teaching about the course of teaching practice. Around this general purpose it was asked the opinions of teacher candidates about the evaluation of themselves, practice teachers and the instructors in terms of instructional process in teaching practice course. The sample of the study was totally 146 fourth grade teacher candidates from the department of primary school teaching. The data was obtained by means of an instrument that was developed by the researchers. The analysis of the data was actualized with percentile and frequency calculations. The most important result of the study pointed out that the teacher candidates were perceived themselves as sufficient and well in many aspects of instructional process. Similarly, it was determined that the scoring of teacher candidates as under achievers were very low by the instructors and practice teachers. According to another finding, teacher candidates found themselves as not sufficient in dealing with individual differences of the students and using mother language efficiently.
