This research aims to determine and analyze the performance of Indonesia's Banking Sub Sector before and during the pandemic. We apply the CAMEL method to assess the Bank's performance via CAR (Capital Adequacy Ratio), NPL (Non-Performing Loan), NPM (Net Profit Margin), ROA (Return on Assets), and LDR (Loan to Deposit Ratio) in both situations. The sample uses 42 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2019 – 2020. The results show that the CAR, NPL, and NPM values during the pandemic have increased compared to before the pandemic. However, the ROA and LDR values decreased during the pandemic compared to before the pandemic. The other findings exhibit no significant differences in CAR, NPL, NPM, ROA, and LDR on bank performance before and during the pandemic. In conclusion, banks should be aware of changes during the pandemic and will change various financial transactions. The research results are also significant for policymakers to make policies that ...

Banking stability plays an important role as an intermediary in the economy. Both the economy and the banking sector affect each other. This study aims to investigate the effect and response of external variables and internal bank variables on Non-Performing Loans at Conventional Commercial Banks and Non-Performing Financing at Islamic Commercial Banks. This study uses macroeconomic variables such as economic growth and inflation, while a bank’s internal variables include the Loan to Deposit Ratio, Financing to Deposit Ratio, and Capital Buffer. This study employs Vector Autoregressive Regression (VAR) to examine the time series data. The results showed that the variable Economic Growth at lag-1, Loan to Deposit Ratio at lag-1, and Capital Buffer at lag-2 significantly affect Non-Performing Loans. While the variable that has a significant effect on Non-Performing Financing is only Economic Growth at lag-1. In addition, as can be seen from the Impulse Response Function curve, Non-Per...

Factors Affecting Non-Performing Loans of Conventional Banking: Evidence in Indonesia Stock Exchange
Jurnal Syntax Transformation, 2022
Majority banks in Indonesia still use loans as the main income to finance their operations. The effects of the NPL will result in dividend payments, high-interest rates and low investment rates resulting in the lower economic development of the country. Based on this, this study was conducted to find out the factors that affect the risk of problematic credit. In this study, the authors used quantitative methods. The independent variables in the study were Return on Assets (ROA), Income Diversification, Bank Capital and Bank Efficiency while the dependent variables were Non-Performing Loans (NPL). The study collected data from 35 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over 5 years (2016-2020) and used the panel's data regression model for its testing. Findings from this study suggest that Return on Assets (ROA), Bank Capital and Bank Efficiency have a significant negative effect on Non-Performing Loans (NPLs). Income Diversification has no significant effect on ...

This study aims to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the increase in bad credits at conventional commercial banks in Indonesia The data used in this study are secondary data sourced from the Ministry of Health and from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), each of which consists of 50 data samples The data analysis technique used in this study is simple regression analysis to determine the magnitude of the influence of COVID-19 on non-performing loans The results of the data analysis show that COVID-19 has a significant effect on non-performing loans, and the COVID-19 variable can be used as an external indicator of the increase in non-performing loans for commercial banks in Indonesia The implication of the research is that other researchers can make COVID-19 an external indicator of an emergency beyond human ability that can affect the level of non-performing loans For banking, this study can be used as a reference when considering credit risk management policy during the CO...

The goal of this study is to look at how traditional banking has performed over the previous three years, specifically the impact of LDR(X1), CAR(X2), BOPO(X3), and NIM(X4) on ROA(Y), where stimulus measures have been used to keep the economy moving forward after the COVID-19 epidemic. Research methodology: Financial services authorities provide time-series analysis of traditional banking performance reports from 2018 to 2021, processing with Stata 16 and the multiple linear regression techniques. Results: The average ROA is 2.23 percent, with a standard deviation of 0.32 percent, and swings in all independent variables may explain 80 percent of changes in bank profitability. The LDR Loan to Deposits Ratio significantly impacts bank profitability in terms of return on assets. The greater the CAR ratio, the higher the bank's profitability concerning its ROA. Assume that the BOPO grows while all other variables remain constant. In such an instance, a rise of 0.013 NIM will occur, ...
