The Capacity and Circulation of Passenger Terminal Building in Regional Airport (Case: Minangkabau and Adisutjipto International Airports of Indonesia)

2013

The dissertation explains about capacity and flow inside terminal buildings in two regional airports in Indonesia: Minangkabau and Adisutjipto International Airports. Both airports have similar characteristics of passengers’ number and locations as tourism areas. Secondary data in the form of existing terminal layouts and air traffic numbers were gained from both airports authorities in Indonesia. The analysis was carried out using the formulas from Japan International Cooperation Agency – Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Indonesia(JICA-DGCA) studies in 1996 for significant areas in the terminal building, Ashford and Wright formula for calculating aircraft movement per hour, Microsoft Excel for calculating the 10-year passenger growth rate, and SPSS for determining the linear equation for domestic departure resulted in the forecasted saturation in the near 2020 for both of airports, especially on passengers’ handling areas such as boarding lounge (for departure) and baggage ...

Impact of Passenger Growth in Soekarno-Hatta Airport

2018

The purpose of passenger growth analysis is to predict what we’ll do for the future. Some airports in the world have a long plan to use their airport with effective and efficient, but in this period, Indonesia has a significant increase of population. So, in developing country such as Indonesia, the country must have good politic and economic. It can be implemented and can be survived for a long time, the result is a lot of people have a good financial and economic in their life. To cover their want and need in aviation point of view, we must do preventive action like building up the new terminal to expand and accommodate the passenger or airport development. Even though we can predict and do action about passenger growth, we must improve our service and quality as airport management in all of the aspect. Airport management has also made airport master plan. This study case, we consider the airport terminal capacity, planning problem as a whole. We use Method Descriptive Research.

The Operational Utilities Of The Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport In Luwuk, Banggai Regency of Central Sulawesi

The demand for air transport movement, air transport traffic and passengers at Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Luwuk Airport increased from the growth and development of airport facilities, so that the operational performance decreased. To anticipate this, it will be necessary to increase facilities strategy, according to the dynamics of transportation demand in the future. This study aims to analyze how the performance of the availability of infrastructure and airport facilities using quantitative and Norms, Standards, Procedures and Criteria (NSPC) analysis. Found that runway and existing terminal conditions are not able to serve the movement of aircraft and passengers for the next 15 years.

The Potency of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport Development as Commercial Airport

2017

Nowadays, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport plays a role in facilitating commercial and military flight activities. In the commercial flight segment, the role of Halim Perdanakusuma airport is expected to reduce the load of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in serving the ever increasing flight volume. As part of this concern, this article analyzes the potency of Halim Perdanakusuma Aiport to respond the growing demand of commercial flight based on land side and air side development potential factors. The potency of development from land side is based on the space availability to meet the standard of passenger service facilities, whereas the air side is based on the airport runway capacity in accommodating the number of aircraft take-off and landing activities according to their types as well as loading capacities. The need for airport development is based on the standard of space needs for each passenger during the peak time. Analysis result shows that the most critical constraint is...

Analysis of Runway Utilization at Soekarno-hatta International Airport

2020

Long queues for the aircraft that will takeoff , landing, and touch down show utilization (Level busyness) of runway at Soekarno-Hatta, are too high and lead to inefficiency, even direct and indirect losses to many parties. The purpose of research is: 1) to calculate volume / traffic airplanes coming (landing), go (take-off), and touch down2) calculate the average queuing length of aircraft and spend time for queuing using the runway. The method of research is using Queuing Theory. The results showed an average aircraft movements 46.41 aircraft / hour, the average capacity of service runway is 36 aircraft / hour / runway, utilization of 2 runway is ρ = 64.46, the average time aircraft queue that'll take off, landing, and touch down is 1.79 minutes; the average number of queues to wait to use a runway that'll take off, landing, and will touch down using 2 runway is 2.67 aircrafts.

SLOT TIME CAPACITY IN PEAK HOUR AT SOEKARNO-HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

In early 2015, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was one of the airport that nominated as the busiest in the world in 2014. Soekarno-Hatta was ranked 12, with the number of passenger ± 59.4 million per year, which is around 162 thousand passengers come and leave the airport every day. Month by month the traffic tends to rise. Gradually, the traffic growth will be an opportunity for Indonesia, but it can be a threat if the traffic growth is not handled properly. The purposes of this research are to calculate the true capacity of runway with 2 runways owned by Soekarno-Hatta International airport and predict the traffic growth happened using queue theory and forecasting methods. The result is to shows that slot time perhour has beyond the number of capacity and increasing the amount of traffic would affect the slot time significantly. So runway utilization shows that adding new runway is one of the methods to cope of traffic growth currently.

Overview of the Influence of Level of Service on the Airport Passenger Terminal Capacity

Promet-traffic & Transportation, 2022

Establishing the desired quality of service (QoS) of the airport passenger terminal in order to improve operational performance is a challenge for every airport. Recent international research indicates a gradual recovery in air transport and, accordingly, the need to develop additional transport infrastructure. If the passenger terminal design in terms of infrastructure and operational capacity is not approached correctly, the level of service provided to passengers may decline. This research will focus on how the IATA Level of Service (LoS), which is provided to airport users can contribute to the optimisation of the level of service of the passenger terminal. Additionally, the impact of level of service on passenger terminal capacity assessment in relation to the diversity of air carrier business model will be analysed. Since there is no common link to uniformly describe and solve this problem, this paper will review the relevant literature in the field of passenger terminal capacity research and will analyse different approaches to solving this problem with the aim to develop a new unified concept in observing and optimising the capacity of the airport passenger terminal taking into account the types of air carrier business models.

Study of Increasing Apron Facilities of Husein Sastranegara Airport Bandung

Civil Engineering and Architecture, 2019

Husein Sastranegara International Airport is an airport located in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. In addition to serving the community, the airport is also one of the military air force bases. Increased economic growth after the monetary crisis and the emergence of many Low-Cost Airline (LCA) will trigger an increase in air transport movements at Husein Sastranegara airport, which in the next stage returns the movement pattern to the pattern of movements before the 1997 crisis, namely patterns that are in line with regional economic growth Bandung Raya (Bandung City and Regency, Sumedang Regency and Cimahi City). It is believed that the current airport facilities will not be able to accommodate requests during peak hours in the future, so it needs evaluation and analysis of facility requirements and facility development planning up to the year of development limits.
