DEVELOPMENT OF A RELATIONAL DATABASE FOR LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
In today's world, Web-Based Distance Education Systems have a great importance. Web-based Distance Education Systems are usually known as Learning Management Systems (LMS). In this article, a database design, which was developed to create an educational institution as a Learning Management System, is described. In this sense, developed Learning Management System consists of basis of Virtual Education Institutions. In this study, a fully relational database design has been realized in compliance with SCORM standards and got ready to be used as Virtual Education Institutions. This system can be used for any required education institute and it can be run within the same interface. In LMS that will be generated, a faculty or institute can be defined and academic and all administrative processes of the defined institute can be managed with the designed system. Proposed database design has been used in a LMS of Afyon Kocatepe University. In this system, many processes like indexing, uploading, downloading, production and editing of web based learning materials can also be performed easily and safely.

This paper presents a practical outline to the mechanism of building a large database system through utilizing different programming languages. This is achieved by building a Relational Database Management System for the University of Sulimanya, in which they have a problem of inefficient database system. The research problem can be represented by creating and building a secure and efficient database system, as the commercially available package software are not appropriate to satisfy the demand of the large education organizations. Performing the project and solving this research problem is achieved through two main steps. The first step is collecting data through interview technique and using the obtained data to requirement analysis of the system. The second step is writing the proper codes by using three different languages, namely, SQL Server, C# and Crystal Report for any of database background, interface and reports respectively. The conclusion of this paper is not only prepa...
DEVELOPMENT OF WEB BASED SCHOOL MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY APPROACH)
IAEME, 2019
The Objective of this research is to analysis and design web-based school management information systems that will provide leverage for school whom need the application to support the efficiency and effectivity of learning, teaching, and administration purposes. Analysis methods composed from two methods, which is current system analysis and recommended system planning. Current system data collection method included direct survey to school, interview, and research from literature. System design and recommendation method based on OOAD (Object Oriented Analysis and Design). We created the model of information system to provide solution and guideline to school when they want to develop management information system. Summary of this research is provided model of analysis and design to leverage school whom need the application to support the efficiency and effectivity of learning, teaching, and administration purposes.
The Analysis of a Learning Management System from a Design and Development Perspective
International Journal of Information and Education Technology, 2022
The use of information technology as a means of educating students has become a popular trend. For this purpose, a special type of content management system was used, called learning management systems (LMS) and course management systems (CMS). Often all of these platforms offer similar features and users cannot choose the one that best suits them. This article proposes an analysis of the usability and functionality of software in LMS frameworks. Based on the integration of parallel work on the same database, you can automatically synchronize and manage accounts, users, sessions, and distribute (session and user) easily. There is no need to manually enter data in two different systems. This increases the value of the learning management system used by improving time and accuracy. By first, reducing the time creating learning materials within the LMS. Second, the accuracy in creating the learning materials within the LMS. Third: Accuracy in distributing students and teachers to the course. Fourth, configure the class room inside the LMS that matches the CMS one hundred percent. It includes subjects, departments, faculties and users (students and teachers). The contribution of this paper provides a rich recent direction of software methodologies for web-based learning management systems from a design and development perspective.
Modelling of Web Based Project Using Requirement Engineering
Requirement engineering is an integral a part of the software system development lifecycle since the idea for developing successful software system depends on comprehending its needs within the initial place. Requirement engineering involves variety of processes for gathering requirements in accordance with the wants and demands of users and stakeholders of the software package. This paper is beneficial to understand this state of the affairs relating {the requirement, the need and necessity engineering analysis. The study additionally summarizes the simplest practices and the way to use a mix of the requirement engineering techniques as a good methodology to successfully conduct the requirement engineering task.In the current changing technology, only teaching is the field where still there is no advancement. We still are using pen and paper which includes lots of human effort. In this paper we propose a new teaching technology which is free of large human efforts. This technology ...
Design and Implement a Novel Student Information Management System – Case Study
IJCSMC, 2018
There were a number of problems associated with adopted manual methods to manage student information in the Department of Student Affairs in the College of Medicine – University of Diyala, these followed regulations caused delay in the delivery of services to students, inaccuracies in the completion of tasks and so on. A new system designed and implemented by using the tools of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (.Net Framework Environment) and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 to solve most of the problems and obstacles resulting from the use of the old methods and techniques. The main work of the software design process included requirements analysis, database description and logical structure design of the data. Database System test results show that the database system meets the requirements of each module with a graphical user interface and simple procedures. Student data can be updated by the administrator of the system efficiently, accurately in a short time and in a flexible manner. Finally concluded that adopted this new database student information management system helps to accomplish the tasks at high speed and accuracy, also helps the management of the college in speed of decision-making, which helps raise the level of performance of the college in general.

Requirement Engineering (RE) is a crucial phase in software development process. It is a process to allow users and developers to elicit required information during requirements gathering before implementation starts. Collaborative application is an example of software that possesses knowledge sharing as the main component needed by users in using the application. RE supports software implementation by identifying requirements specification needed for supporting knowledge sharing. This paper gives an overview of requirements elicitation in collaborative application under the umbrella of RE. Thus, Electronic learning domain will be used as an example of collaborative application in order to give the idea of knowledge sharing among users. Electronic-learning can be seen as a collaboration of entities which comprises students, instructors, administrators, designers and developers of the application. Therefore, the challenges of E-learning are also highlighted in this paper in order to depict the importance of RE process for software development purpose.
Educational JavaBeans: a requirements driven architecture
2001
Abstract: In this paper we investigate, through a case study, the development of a software architecture that is compatible with a system's high-level requirements. The case study is an example of an extended customer/supplier relationship (post-point of sale support) involved in e-Universities, this being representative of a class of enterprise without current architectural support.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze and to design knowledge management systems in the School of Information Systems at XYZ University, which will improve organization's performance and deliver innovation to organization as well as provide solutions when it's needed. Analytical method that used in this study consist of two methods namely data & information collection method and analysis & design information systems method. Data & information collection method was obtained based on literature review study, while analysis & design information systems method was obtained by using object based information systems with the unified processes. The conclusion from this research is knowledge management systems provide solutions to address the problem of managing knowledge in academic and operation area in the School of Information Systems, by designing web based information systems which can make the process of production and distribution knowledge more effective and more efficient.
Development of a Student Database Management System for a University
In this scholarly thesis pertinent to the setting up of a automated student performance record management system which enables the users of a university like student and faculty to access the important information with ease through a user friendly web application. This proposed system aims at eliminating the practice of time consuming and vulnerable tradition of manual maintenance of student information in paper at the very basic level. In a university there are many departments all these departments provide various records regarding student. Most of these track records need to maintain information about the students. Thus by proposing a computerizes student record management system will enable the users to access data at any time and any place. The student web portal enables huge storage of data and easy retrieval. There are many departments in a college thus but introducing a student web portal will centralize the administration and the entire system will work as one single entity. The paper work would be reduced and number of workers in each department staff also reduces as one single operator can run this web application
