The Information System Development Based on Knowledge Management in Higher Education Institution

International Journal of Higher Education, 2020

The purpose of this study is to express the experiences, ideas, needs, and the use of information technology for the development of management information systems in a higher education institution. This study is qualitative approach research using the case study method. The research data collection uses the techniques of observation, interview, and documentation study. The research procedure used in this research consists of several research steps utilizing the case study method of Robert K. Yin: research planning, research design, research preparation, research data collection, research data analysis, and doing the research report. The research analysis is done by pattern matching. The data validity testing through data source triangulation and technique triangulation. The result of the study presents: (1) the analysis of management information system based on tacit and explicit knowledge through the process of exchanging experience, idea, and initiative, (2) the management informa...

Development Model for Knowledge Management System (KMS) to Improve University's Performance (Case Studies in Indonesia University of Education)

2012

Knowledge Management System (KMS) is one way to organize and documented the knowledge of institution. The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype KMS in organizing and documenting the knowledge in the university and to do a document aggregation based on the total number, subjects and writers (lecturers). The development method of KMS prototype is using sharepoints which are able to collect, store and publish all digital data available at the university which can be accessed online. Aggregation is using the percentage between the number of documents, subjects, and writers (lecturers). The aggregation’s result between the number of digital files compared to the number of courses and the number of lecturers are each below 10%. In the future, the university still needs to encourage all lecturers or academic community to increase the collection of digital files that can indirectly improve the quality and educational services.

Knowledge Management System- A STUDY.

International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Research Technology, 2014

Every organization and institute is facing the savior problem of generating the knowledge on the basis of their assets. Knowledge management is very indispensable for any organization. We discuss about the knowledge management through this paper. This paper provide an outline of knowledge management and how knowledge management is useful to improve the quality of the educational institute. With the help of knowledge management system we can manage any information. We can define knowledge management such as it is a gathering of interesting and useful information. Knowledge management is not a technology but knowledge management is a collection of process that manage information.

A project of developing a knowledge management system

2015

Knowledge is an essential element of modern business and increasing attention is given to its acquisition, distribution and exploitation in everyday business activities. Therefore, KONČAR launched the development of a knowledge management system for its own demands and initiated a collaboration with the academic community for scientific research purposes and potential broader social significance of the project. With regard to the multidisciplinary nature of knowledge management, an agreement was reached with the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The knowledge management system will enable an effective management of all segments of intellectual capital of an organization, resulting in increase in productivity and higher market competitiveness, as well as an increased capability for generating new values for all parties to the agreement.

Forming the effective system of knowledge management is the basis for higher educational organization' innovative development

The work herein considers the experience of knowledge management efficient system creation and implementation aimed 802 at forming knowledge culture and common corporate conscience support at the higher school for the benefit of the university in whole to transfer through e-learning from classic university to the e-university. Via knowledge management from e-university to knowledge parks». We submit hereby the outcomes of «knowledge management technologies» forming as an aggregate of certain procedures, methods and software-hardware means to ensure free circulation of knowledge and its generation. There is given comparative analysis of information-education medium by way of example of two higher schools being the basis for knowledge management system.

Diagnosis of the Potential for Successful Implementation of a Knowledge Management System in a University Unit member

2015

This paper presents an overview of the recorded state in terms of the capacity for introducing of an informatics system for knowledge management of an academic institution – the Faculty of Administration and Information Systems Management (FAISM), unit of the University of Bitola “St. KlimentOhridski”. It examines: the attitudes on knowledge and learning, the personal detectors on logistics - support to the system and the attitudes toward the working group - the organization, of all 40 employees, as well as the achievement motive of 112 active students at FAISM. The results indicated that the FAISM’ readiness for change in direction of increased sharing and use of the knowledge possessed is moderate, with limited awareness among the staff that the clear professional requirements, rules and standards previously set, are prerequisites for successful implementation and application of this system.

University customized knowledge management system (KMS)

2015 Fifth International Conference on Digital Information and Communication Technology and its Applications (DICTAP), 2015

The fundamental difference between regular, ordinary information and knowledge is that the latter comprises actionable data; that is data with practical values which can be acted upon. For this reason, knowledge management has evolved throughout the years to become an integral aspect of modern corporations and organizations as it contributes to the growth and development of these enterprises. This paper proposes the implementation of a customized knowledge management system that will be deployed and integrated as part of an existing university management system that is currently in use at the Lebanese International University. This ultimate goal of such a system is to aid in the accomplishment of administrative and academic processes more effectively and efficiently.

Prototype of Knowledge Management System for the Higher Education Institution in Indonesia

In this paper, we propose a model of knowledge management for higher education institution in Indonesia. The model consists of five processes (i.e. capturing, structuring, storing, disseminating and implemetation) and six critical success factors (i.e. vision, culture, management support, technology, education and motivation, and maintenance). Based on the model, we develop a prototype of knowledge management system that accomodates activities and processes in higher education institutions. The prototype is designed to support organization learning and can be used as knowledge repository in the organization.

Model Development of Knowledge Management System At Hasanuddin University

2015

This research is aimed to analyze the direction and the level of significance on the influence of the implementation of knowledge management in Hasanuddin University covering policy, information technology, and culture toward knowledge sharing performance either directly or indirectly through transfer mechanism and motivation. The design of this research is an explanatory research using cross sectional approach with survey, then further analyzed using structural equation modelling (SEM). The sample in this research is 327 respondents taken from a total population of 1690 faculty members using a proportional sampling method. Based on the test results, twelve hypotheseswere proven and three hypotheses were not proven. There are three interesting findings against the initial hypotheses as follows: 1) information technology is not directly influenced knowledge sharing performance significantly; 2) information technology has significant but negative influenced toward transfer mechanism, and 3) the influence of information technology toward motivation

Web-based Knowledge Management System for Camarines Norte State College

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020

One of the issues of the academic institution is knowledge management. How the academe disseminate information over the academic community on real time and the availability of knowledge anytime and anywhere is challenging task in every institution. The objective of this study is to develop Knowledge Management System for Camarines Norte State College that is capable of knowledge sharing, creating and knowledge repository. The developed KM system is designed specifically to cater the requirements of the academic institutions especially Camarines Norte State College in terms of knowledge management. A usability test was conducted to find out how far the academic community can interact efficiently and effectively and how far the system application provides user guidance, provide information, and provide consistent interaction. The pooled mean of the overall usability test was 4.55 with adjectival rating of SA or strongly agree, which means that the system has the functionality needed b...
