Factors That Affect The Development Of Tourism On The Belitung Island

The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors that affect the development of the KEK Tourism Kelayang Cape as an alternative economy after tin mining. The research method used with quantitative descriptive design, the number of samples are 80 SME based on Tourism. Analysis of the data by using the second order analysis with the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) or known as PLS Formative with the XLSTAT PLS-PM Progam. Research findings indicate that the factors that affect the development of KEK Tourism Kelayang Cape, sequentially from the largest is a media networking and communication Industry, the behavior and consumer reactions, marketing strategy, politic-economicsocial support and technology, government regulation, natural environment, skills and expertise and Industrial action and the competition. The results of research has implications for the management practices that within the framework of the speed up the development of KEK Tourism Kelayang Cape, The most important is the more expand network media and communication industry in the current digital era, but the best performance is skills and expertise but this dimension is not so important. Research Originality : This research carried out in the election of 1 from 10 tourism destinations in Indonesia is the area of the KEK (Special Economic Zone), based on tourism , in The Belitung Island, by focusing on the factors that affect the development of tourism in Belitung Island.

Alternative Tourism in the Belitung Island with the Blue Tourism Concepts as the Effort to Achieve the Quality of Life, Quality of Opportunity and Quality of Experience

All the natural maritime resources at Belitung Island is a major potential in tourism development. However, the concept of mass tourism which has been applied so far is not optimal to tourism development so it's not creating the competitiveness to attract the tourist. Therefore,that should be more effort so that the available resources are able to have competitiveness in attracting tourists visit. Blue tourism concept is a concept that emphasizes the beauty of the beach, the sea and the ecosystem that are expected to create opportunities for tourism and the subsequent impact on increasing the number of tourist's visit. The main purpose of this research is to provide a concept of blue-based tourism management tourism. Through a descriptive study using primary data through observation and interviews to the community, local government, tourists and also using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat), and GAP analysis has resulted a model of tourism development which is able to provide quality of life, quality of opportunity and quality of experience.

Challenges and Opportunities of using DMO as the Sustainable Tourism Drivers in Belitung, Indonesia

The most concerning thing regarding tourism destination management is that the tourism development plan has not been based on a long-term vision that contains the spirit of sustainable tourism. On the other hand, many tourism destinations are managed for a short- term benefit. In recent tourism concept, DMOs (destination marketing and/or management organizations) have been widely acknowledge as an important entity in managing a destination. Many of tourism destination around the world have been implementing this concept in managing their tourism destination. In destinations with traditional management, DMOs provide local services to visitors and fulfill destination marketing functions. Meanwhile, to meet the demand aspect, DMO activities focus on image and reputation development, product packaging, sales and distribution management. In the supply aspect, the DMO is involved in various functions, including providing information services, being the coordinator between tourism SMEs, providing infrastructure or support and of course having a role in destination planning. However, despite of its importance, various problems in the implementation occurs. One destination that continues to increase in popularity in Indonesia is Belitung Island. This island has enormous natural resources such as tin, making this island one of the tin producers that contribute greatly to Regional Original Income (PAD). The natural beauty of Belitung Island is also the main attraction for tourists so that this area was chosen to be one of the 10 tourism destinations that will be a priority for tourist visits. The growth in the tourism industry has made the implementation of sustainable development in the tourism sector is becoming increasingly significant for all stakeholders. The problem regarding this situation is who will be the person or organization in charge that responsible for ensuring the implementation of sustainable tourism concept. DMO has already been established in this destination however its effectiveness still has to be increased. This research is qualitative in nature, by exploring the possibility of implementing sustainable tourism principles more effectively by using DMO as the coordinator in the destination. The primary data collection techniques were using interviews, group discussions and observations. Meanwhile the secondary data sources were taken from various sources, mainly from Belitung Tourism Office. The result of this research revealed that DMO can be the right entity to be the sustainable tourism drivers in Belitung. However, there are many challenges and opportunities that have to be addressed in order to make it effective.

Tourism Sector Development in Belitung Regency: The Tourist's Perception

Tourism has the potential to be developed into a leading sector in Belitung Regency. The development of tourism is indicated by the increasing number of tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists from 2015 to 2018 by 85.9% over 4 years. This research aims to determine the gap between the level of satisfaction and the importance of supporting components of tourism to tourists who visited tourist destinations in Belitung Regency. This study aims to describe the implications of socio-economic change caused by tourism development and to explore the relationship between society and tourism from a sociological perspective. By using a qualitative approach with a case study research design, this study analyses data that was obtained through observation, documentation, and interviews. The participants involved were the local community living in Keciput village, the Keciput village staff members, the Tanjung Kelayang Beach tourism manager, and the Belitung Regency tourism office staff members. This study aims to develop recommendations in the form of strategies for development in the Belimbing Tourism Village, Pupuan District, Tabanan Regency. This study was made using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study are that internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) have a greater influence than external factors (opportunities and threats). This is indicated by the joint weighting of the informants where the internal factors get a weight of 3.56 while the external factors get a weight of 3.4.
