Mineral mulches, such as pumice, increase water retention of soil, reduce evaporation and optimum water consumption. Use of pumice, thus, can be effective in improving the performance and growth of plant under water stress condition. This research was performed in completely randomized block design with three replications, four levels pumice, without its use (as control), and use of 30, 60 and 90 tons of pumice per hectare and three levels of irrigation (at 50% severe stress, at 70% moderate stress and at 100% without stress, evaporation from class A evaporation pan to evaluate the effect of treatment on some physiological traits of corn (modified hybrid of Maxima). Physiological traits of corn, was affected significantly by pumice and irrigation. The highest and lowest chlorophyll index, leaf relative water content, stomatal conductance and dry and fresh weight biomass, were obtained from pumice treatment of 90 tons per hectare and the control. The highest and lowest leaf temperature was also obtained from treatments of control and 90 tons per hectare. Chlorophyll index of 90 tons treatment per hectare in comparison with control and 30 tons per hectare of pumice amounted to 52 and 26% respectively. Stomatal conductance of irrigation at 50% evaporation from evaporation pan in comparison with treatments 70 and 100% decreased by 42 and 23% respectively. Thus it can conducted that the use of the 60 tons per hectare of pumice and irrigation at 70% evaporation from evaporation pan would be effective and will significantly affect plant vegetative characteristics and yield of corn.

Saffron is the most precious spice crop in the world which nowadays has nutritional, medical and industrial importance. Its average yield is 4.83 kg/ha in Iran. The research was conducted to investigate the effect of corm weight and its density on yield and yield components of saffron under soil, hydroponic and plastic tunnel conditions. The effect of three different weights of corm (6-8, 8-10 and more than 10 g) and also three different densities of corm (50, 100 and 150 corms per m²) was investigated in factorial experiment based on CRD with three replications. The traits which were investigated included: number of flower, fresh weight of flower, fresh and dry weight of stigma and style, and economic yield. Drought is one the most complicated and unknown natural disasters and rainfed agriculture is often the first sector to be affected by drought. In this research, we consider the drought monitoring from both meteorological and agricultural points of view. We have selected Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) among the meteorological indices, with a one month time scale for the synoptic station of Bojnurd. Ecology of Iranian Forests
Today, Zagros reforestation is more than ever felt due to human presence and its destructive activities. To do this requires observing the scientific principles of silviculture. Of essential restoration activities in these forests can be mentioned the seed planting of indigenous species within their range of development. In this regard, the present research was conducted with the aim of investigate the germination and emergence status of Quercus persica, Pistacia atlantica and Acer cineracens seeds planted in Dalab Ilam forests in 2018. For this, three sites on the northern slope and approximately the same height of 1380 to 1410 meters above sea level were selected. In each site, three trees were considered for each of Q. persica, P. atlantica and A. cineracens species. Under each tree, three holes were drilled between the trunk and the end of the crown for each crown side, and a total of 12 holes. In drilled holes under the trees, the corresponding seeds were planted in the winter 2017. The results of the sampling in the spring 2018 showed that the seeds of Q. persica had the highest emergence rates (22%). The seeds of P. atlantica gained the second rank in terms of germination and emergence (18%). The seeds of A. cineracens had the lowest amount of emergence (0.3%) and the number of emerged seedlings was rare. The highest occurrence rate of Q. persica seedlings was on the northern side of tree crown (32%) and in for P. atlantica was on the southern (32%) and western (30%) sides of the tree crown. The highest rate of seedling emergence of Q. persica (48%) and P. atlantica (51%) was found at nearest distance to tree trunk. Despite planting the seeds of these three tree species in the same conditions in terms of topography, position under the crown and distance from tree trunk, similar results were not obtained which the reason of this can be attributed to their seed characteristics such as seed size and seed vigor.

مورخوش (Rech. f. & Wendelbo Zhumeria majdae ) یکی از گیاهان دارویی مهم، پرمصرف، اندمیک و انحصاری استان هرمزگان است که خواص درمانی آن از دیر باز مورد توجه مردم بوده است. به همین منظور اثرات ضد میکروبی اسانس برگ گیاه بر رشد باکتریهای Escherichia coliو Staphylococcos aureus با روشهای چاهک و دیسک کاغذی و تعیین MIC مطالعه شد. اسانس گیری با دستگاه تقطیر و حلال آب انجام شد، ترکیبهای موجود در اسانس گیاه مورخوش با استفاده از تکنیکهای GC و GC/MS شناسایی شد. 22 ترکیب از مجموع 98.7 درصد وزن اسانس شناسایی شد لینالول با 60.4 درصد و کامفور با 26.5 درصد بیشترین ترکیب اسانس بودند. در این بررسی stock محلول هموژنه 1 میلی لیتر اسانس برگ گیاه مورخوش در 50 میلی لیتر محلول صمغ عربی( 2.5 گرم در لیتر) به عنوان غلظت 100 درصد در نظر گرفته شد و بر آن اساس رقتهای مختلف 20, 40 , 60 و 80 درصد تهیه گردید. رقتهای 0, 20, 40 و 60 درصد بر باکتری گرم مثبت Staphylococcos aureus خاصیت MIC و رقتهای 80 و 100 درصد خاصیتMBC بر باکتری گرم منفی Escherichia coli, رقتهای 0 و 20 درصد اسانس خاصیت MIC و رقتهای 40, 60, 80 و 1...

Prediction of crop yield is one of the managerial and planning tools in agriculture. Meteorological variables and drought indices play an essential role in yield prediction. In this study, the yield of four crops, namely wheat, barley, chickpea and watermelon was predicted in Mashhad and Birjand regions based on meteorologica l variables and drought indices using three regression models of Ridge, Enter and Step Wise. For this purpose, ten meteorological parameters and seven drought indices were used in three structures as input multivariate regression models. Results showed that among the meteorological variables, the two variables: number of rainy days and maximum air temperature had higher correlation with crops under study. Similarly, among drought indices, Nguyen index showed such higher correlation.
