Background: The Learning style has been the focus of numerous studies, but it remains complex and affected by many factors. Nursing students should learn large quantities of theoretical content in a short period of time. Objective: The Relationship between Learning style and undergraduate nursing students' Academic Achievement in School of nursing and midwifery, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran Methods: A correlational cross sectional study was conducted. The subjects of this study were Undergraduate nursing students 232 from school grades of years attending to school of nursing and midwifery of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Data was collected from students through an anonymous learning style questionnaire. The questionnaire was divided into three sections including (a) demographic profile (b) Kolb's Learning Style Inventory (c) Academic achievement. An initial version of the questionnaire was piloted on a small group of nursing students as the context was validated by a panel of expertise in nursing education. All ethical considerations were applied in this study. Data analysis was carried out by using the latest version of the statistical software package SPSS (Version-21). Descriptive and analytical statistical test were used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 232 participated in study of relationship between learning styles, and undergraduate nursing students' academic achievement. One hundred-Forty three participants were female (61.6%), and 89 respondents were male (38.4%); 60.8% were between 20 and 25 years, 33.6% were <20 years, and 5.6% were >25 years old. The most frequency learning style of students was Abstract Conceptualization (37.5%). In addition, Active Experiential (30.17%), Reflective Observation (19.83%) and Concrete Experiencing (12.5%) were in the next order in LS of students. The majority of subjects (52.8%) their academic achievements were at level of Good (the Median score were between (13-16). There was no significant relationship between Learning style and Academic Achievement (P> 0.05). There was a relationship between Learning styles and gender (P<0.05). There was a relationship between learning style and academic level (P=0.041). Conclusion: Not all students are self-directed, and this study suggests that mature students are more self-directed than that entering nurse education direct from high school. Nurses' educators need to assess the Learning style and preferences of their students in order to determine the appropriateness of Self-Directed in learning.

Study habit of students is one of the pressing issues a lecturer encounters despite of the many motivational factors given to them. How the issues can be solved to enhance better learning process. There have been many attempts to study the different elements that are keys to academic performance students learn as measured by their learning styles and how this will translate to academic success have been considered as an insignificant component in the academic success of students. This quantitative descriptive-correlational study aimed to determine correlation between learning styles and academics. The participants consisted of 304 nursing students who were randomly selected from eight nursing schools in Marawi City. The Perceptual Learning Style Questionnaire was utilized to carry out the rationale of the study. Assess the Study Habits and Academic Performance of the Nursing Students

Background of the study: Nursing is a profession within the healthcare sector on the care of individuals, families, and communities, so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and quality of life. Nursing syllabus also was very difficult to study. Study habit is an action such as reading, taking notes, and holding study groups which the students perform regularly and habitually in order to accomplish the task of learning. Academic performance is to evaluate the students' achievement across various academic subjects. Faculty and education officials typically measure achievement using classroom performance, graduation rates, and results from standardized tests. So, the students' academic performance depends on their study habits. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted to assess the study habits and academic performance of final year nursing students. Data were collected by administering semistructured questionnaire that consists of sociodemographic variable to assess the study habits, semistructured questions with 5-point Likert scale. To assess academic performance, their internal assessment test results were taken. Analysis of data was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Among 30 students, 10 (33.3%) of them had good, 14 (46.6%) had average, and 4 (20.1%) had poor study habits. The result showed that majority of them 20 (66.67%) got first class. Conclusion: This present study concluded that most of the students had average and good study habits whose academic performance was also good and got first class in academic performance. It encourages us to do nursing interventions to improve slow learners' academic performance by practicing good study habits.
Objective. The present study aimed to identify the most common learning preferences among the nursing students in Saudi Arabia and to investigate the associations of certain demographic variables with the learning preferences. Methods. All the undergraduate nursing students in the nursing college were requested to participate in this descriptive cross-sectional study. An Arabic version of the Felder-Silverman learning style model (FSLSM) questionnaire was used to examine the learning preferences among undergraduate nursing students. Results. A total of 56 (43%) completed questionnaires were included in the final analysis. Results of the present study indicate that the most common learning preferences among the nursing students were visual (67.9%), followed by active (50%) and sequential (37.5%) learning preferences. The verbal style was the least common learning preference (3.6%) among the nursing students. There was no association between gender and learning preferences (> .05). Conclusion. The present study concluded that the visual, active, and sequential styles are the commonest learning preferences among the nursing students. The nursing educators should emphasize the use of this information in their teaching methods to improve learning skills among the nursing students.

Background: Self-Directed in Learning has been emphasized nursing education settings based on many factors such as changing in learning teaching methods, nursing professions development, etc. Awareness and identification of the students learning and their academic achievement are important factors in nursing Course. The questionnaire was divided into three sections including (a) demographic profile (b) Fisher's Self-Directed in Learning Readiness questionnaire, (d) academic achievement. Data analysis was carried out by using the latest version of the statistical software package SPSS (Version-21). Descriptive and analytical statistical test were used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 232 participated in study of relationship between learning styles, Self-directed in learning and undergraduate nursing students' academic achievement. One hundred-Forty three participants were female (61.6%), and 89 respondents were male (38.4%); 60.8% were between 20 and 25 years, 33.6% were <20 years, and 5.6% were >25 years old. The most frequency learning style of students was AC (37.5%).The majority of subjects (90.52%) SDLR were in the level of Self-Control (Score >150). The majority of subjects (52.8%) their academic achievements were at level of Good (the Median score were between (13-16). There was no significant relationship between Learning styles and Academic Achievement (P> 0.05).Conclusion: Not all students are self-directed, and this study suggests that mature students are more self-directed than that entering nurse education direct from high school. Nurses' educators need to assess the Learning style and preferences of their students in order to determine the appropriateness of Self-Directed in learning. It is important to acknowledge that Self-Directed in Learning is only one teaching method that can be used to meet the learning needs of all students.

During learning teaching program, teacher or lecturer has the important role and being the part that determining the succeed of this program. Besides, a good application of learning styles is one of the aspect that directly correlate to student’s creativity and learning styles. Hence, teacher or lecturer have to apply a learning method during this program that rise learning motivation of the students. This study used 76 respondents of Nursing D-III Department Program Unipdu students. In addition, this also applied total sampling from given questionare and would be tabulated to investigate D-III nursing student learning styles. The result reveals that 64,5% students used visual learning styles, which mean that students of Nursing Diploma Program apply visual learning method during their study.
