E-learning System to Enhance Cognitive Skills for Learners in Higher Education
Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2015
The objective of this research study was to develop the e-learning system to enhance cognitive skills. The system comprised two sub systems: (1) e-learning system in Blended Learning Environment (BLE), and (2) e-learning system in Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Both systems were tested by 240 higher education students categorized in three major disciplines including health science, science and technology, and social sciences and humanities. Afterwards, the systems were approved by the experts. The results showed that the systems should consist of four core elements: input, process, output, and feedback, as detailed in the article.
Upgrading Quality of Learning with E-Learning System
Challenges of Science, 2021
This article studies different ways of learning. Behavioral, cognitive, constructivist learning, multiple learning styles, e-learning, and brain-based learning are interrelated with each other and teachers should ensure that all students should be involved in all types of learning styles to get learning outcomes. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced governments around the world to implement policies to limit face-to-face meetings with community activities. This makes community activities carried out virtually. It also happens in the education system, teaching and learning activities which are usually carried out in classes face to face, this time has to use the internet as a learning medium. E-learning environments create lessons interactive. Knowledge is integrated from many different sources when students are learning something. The result of this study by analyzed ways of learning is five learning approaches. The stages of learning approaches are student to be active, engaged in the ...
E-learning Towards Student Academic Performance
— E-learning (EL) is the use of Information Technology Communication e.g. Internet, Computer, Mobile phone, Learning Management System (LMS), Televisions, Radios and others to enhance teaching and learning activities. EL has become an increasingly popular learning approach in higher educational institutions due to vast growth of internet technology in Malaysia. The main purpose of establishing EL is to increase the content of the courses and their accessibility but not aimed at improving student academic performance (SAP). This study relates to the faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) that uses EL to deliver the content of the courses. Postgraduate students in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems are distributed to fill out a survey questionnaire that is supposed to measure the students’ engagement in the EL and their academic performance (AP). The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship of EL use and student academic performance (SAP). This study uses correlation analysis to examine and present the correlation between EL use and SAP. Greater EL interaction and engagement in the EL are found to have a positive and statically significant correlation with SAP. This study proposes to establish EL not only to deliver the content of the courses but also to improve student academic achievement as a whole.

Industrial era 4 is the era with digitalization in various fields, including education. The need for e-learning based learning is essential to develop. The development of learning with TPACK framework (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) through learning e-learning in this research is designed by using Edmodo application. The purpose of the learning development is to internalize the technology into pedagogic, teaching materials and knowledge packed with online learning. The development model uses the Research and Development design of the 4-D model. Stage 4-D includes: define, design, develop and disseminate. The results showed that the model of online learning for the learning media course could increase the learning activity and the students can learn independently with the existing technology.
E-Learning Technologies and Human Learning Process
2019
Learning has been a recurrent and inseparable activity of human being since ever. People have been inventing and discovering various methods and techniques to improve its acquisition process and ways. One's progress and development has always been evolutionary as regards to learning versatility. One has come to know various tactics, techniques and technologies according to the developing circumstances. But now, in the 21st century, it may be said that this process cannot be termed as evolutionary as it was in its place a revolutionary phenomenon. Science and technology changes the whole internal mindset as well as external perspective. Computer changes the whole scenario. With its introduction, the conception of electronic era emerged. Electronic learning opened a new chapter in the history of human education and knowledge. Virtual classroom concept came into being. Interactive means changed altogether. All these means prove to be effective in the human learning process.eb
Integrating Knowledge of Cognitive System and E-Learning Applications
Integrating Human Factors and Personalization
This chapter outlines key findings of cognitive and developmental psychology which could be used as a theoretical framework to guide the design and research of e-learning applications. The chapter consists of two main sections. The first section presents the basic cognitive mechanisms and their development, while the second part discusses how our knowledge of the cognitive system can guide the design of computer-based learning environments. It is proposed that the human mind is organized in three levels: two of them are general-purpose mechanisms and processes and one consists of domainspecific structures of knowledge representation and problem solving processes. These three levels are associated with an effective learning framework. The suggested framework describes the basic points that any designer of e-learning environments must consider. The second section of the chapter discusses e-learning, connecting it to knowledge about the human cognitive system. In this section, we first present the conceptual bounds of the e-learning construct and discuss how cognitive theories of learning should guide the design of technologically-enhanced learning environments. It is proposed that a synergy between the study of human cognition and the design of e-learning applications is required for effectively understanding both fields.
E-Learning: A self-governed learning process of 21st century
Learning is a relatively a permanent change in human behavior. This behavior is result of certain internal processes such as thinking, attitudes, and emotions and educational programs have taken place. With innovations in technology, the traditional methods of learning are transforming from instructor centered to learner-centered. These ubiquitous technologies provide with huge mass of learning resources to meet their diverse needs of all learners. Role of the instructor has been sidelined by these cost effective emerging pedagogies. E learning is the merging result of technological and pedagogical developments. For today generation, technology is an integral part of their life and personal identity. With revolution in Information technology, learning has shifted from classrooms to home and offices. E-learning has widened the learner area of knowledge by providing flexible and personalized way of learning. It has become a vital tool of learning process of 21st century. This paper will focus on e-learning and its new approaches toward learning. It will describe the demand, importance, application and integration of e-learning and classroom learning.
E-Learning and Student’s Achievement: Fulfilling the Needs for Technology Integration
2018
The gap between students’ learning level and their level of writing prompted this classroom action research (CAR). E-learning was chosen as a media for students to enhance their understanding in producing a good piece of writing. The results showed that integrating e-learning in writing class contributed to the improvement of students’ writing. E-learning fulfilled the need of extended activities to accelerate students’ comprehension which resulted in their writing achievement. Students who actively participated in e-learning based teaching and learning activities showed a better writing performance in terms of organizing ideas. They also become more active during the classroom discussion due to their awareness of their writing problems.
E- Learning: An effective pedagogical tool for learning
2011
In the info-tech age E-Methods of learning are becoming the most important vehicle in disseminating knowledge in higher education institutions. This sector is growing and changing at a rapid speed due to developments in technologies. But teaching is an art. Can there be fun learning with raw and dry technology? How can we make the best use of E- Methods, can we make the required information and data available to the students in a flexible manner, at ease all the time? What are the advantages of traditional methods of teaching and learning? Is E-learning a progressive stage incubating all the benefits of the Manual learning or it is only a window dressing on the face of advancement? Can we convert the boring, tedious subjects into interactive, monotony breaking joyous learning? In this paper the researchers have focused on the modernization of E- Pedagogy vis-a-vis the traditional method of learning. They have highlighted the effectiveness of using the E- learning elements and variou...
