Opening a lock with the use of a PIN adds more flexibility to security system. This thesis describes the design and implementation of a Microcontroller based security system for home and office devices. It provides users with an efficient and reliable security system that supports the use of an Electronic Keypad arranged to send signals to the control unit. This Control Unit either activates the Port to which the LED (the door Latch) is connected when the correct Pin is entered or activates the Port to which the Buzzer Alarm is connected when the wrong Pin is entered. The prototype of the system is successfully implemented according to the proposal giving authorized user the privilege to change the Pin at will. Overall, the design and implementation of the prototype is fully functional and user friendly.
Application of Microcontroller in Door Locking System
Microcontrollers are utilized in different applications. One such application is the utilization of microcontrollers in entryway locking framework. The major utilization of this venture is to give security in houses, ATM and so forth We need to enter a secret phrase at first. The secret key will be saved in the information base of the microcontroller. At whatever point the right secret phrase will be entered with the assistance of keypad. The regulator will send guidance to the DC engine and the entryway will be opened. This electronic innovation can be utilized to make a completely altered and customized entryway locking framework.
Password Protected Lock System Desgined using Microcontroller
— The purpose of this project is to provide security at (house, ATM, office etc.) in this system the user will have to register a unique password. The information will be stored in data base. Whenever the right password will be received, the controller will accordingly give instruction to dc motor. Dc motor will perform the action on door unlocking. We want to utilize the electronic technology to build an integrated and fully customized home security system at a reasonable cost.
Development of a Microcontroller-Controlled Security Door System
2009
Over the years, several security measures have been employed to combat the menace of insecurity of lives and property. This is done by preventing unauthorized entrance into buildings through entrance doors using conventional and electronic locks, discrete access code, and biometric methods such as the finger prints, thumb prints, the iris and facial recognition. In this paper, a prototyped door security system is designed to allow a privileged user to access a secure keyless door where valid smart card authentication guarantees an entry. The model consists of hardware module and software which provides a functionality to allow the door to be controlled through the authentication of smart card by the microcontroller unit.

Microcontroller Based Electronic Digital Lock with Security Notification
Journal of Engineering Research and Reports
Due to the advancement in science and technology all over the world, there is a significant increase in the rate of crime and sophistication in crimes; as a result, it is necessary to ensure the security of one’s self and one’s valuable belongings. The main goal of this paper is aimed at creating an electronic security system capable of detecting an intruder and reporting to security personnel. The design of the microcontroller based electronic digital lock with security notification uses a four-digit pass key for its operation. The operation involves opening the door, closing the door, changing of password and alarm upon wrong password entry. It is important for use in Bank Vaults, Hotels, Offices and can also be used in our homes. The research objectives were achieved with the use of microcontroller which programs the ATMEGA328P microprocessor and interfaces it with all the other components in the circuit. In the end, the circuit was able to activate the relay switches for opening...
Design and Development of a Password-Based Door Lock Security System
This work is a design and development of a micro-controller based, password enabled door lock for home security. The work involved building a working model of a security door lock that is password protected with an AT89C52 microcontroller which operates by sending control signals to a H-bridge that controls the opening and closing of a model door connected to a stepper motor. Accessing and changing various information and settings are done via an electronic system that allows the user to enter secret pass codes via a 4 × 4 keypad and a 16 × 2 LCD display. The design incorporated a serial EEPROM that can retain the information during power outages and runs on available power from the mains supply. Once the circuit is plugged to the mains supply, the LCD displays the different menu functions and waits for data input from the keypad, the illustrative door slides open and close when a valid pass code is entered. The work was designed, developed, and tested and found to perform according to design objectives.
Design of a Programmed AT89C52 Microcontroller Access Door Control System
2022
Biometric systems installed on doors cannot be used by everyone, as it is unhealthy for someone to touch a device that has already been pressed by so many others. Also, people without hands cannot use fingerprint or hand-based systems, while visually impaired people have difficulties using iris or retina based techniques. To overcome these challenges, a programmed AT89C52 microcontroller access door control system that makes use of two multi-factor user authentication with password and smartcard was designed to restrict the entry of unauthorized persons from sensitive or highly secured areas. Unified Modeling Language was used to model the functionality of the system with AT89C52 microcontroller, power supply, keypad, display unit, smartcard, smartcard reader, relay driver and dc motor as hardware. The card reader was designed with a Random Access Memory card reader slot in a computer connected to the port 0 of the AT89C52 microcontroller. While the software program used for the programmable AT89C52 access door control system was successfully programmed with assembly language in order to perform the desired assignment, the source code was developed in an integrated development environment. The entire software which was arranged by integrating all the modules in a main control loop, and tested for conformity with the main control program alongside the hardware, achieved its objective of deterring unauthorized attempt to highly restricted areas.
This paper presents the design and implementation of microcontroller based security door system (using mobile phone and computer set). The security door can either receive command through the mobile phone or through the computer system (configured to output data through the parallel port). Considering the high rate of crime and insecurity, there is an urgent need to design a security door that takes proper measure to prevent intrusion, unwanted and unauthorized user(s). To solve these problems associated with other security doors, the project uses a computer system running on visual basic (6.0), DTMF decoder and microcontroller as its main components to control the door. The result of these processes led to a security door which can be accessed by entering the corresponding keys of the assigned codes on the mobile phone, or by entering the corresponding code in a computer set interfaced with the system. The door opens automatically when the right code is entered and remains open for (10 seconds) before closing back. The designed system has been proven to be a reasonable advancement in access control and door security system technology.
