Smart house Concept

Nowadays automation has entered our homes. Smart houses can be a new level of comfort and safety of the house. It can help people in daily life as well as the security that its people need.This Project is designed to bring our concept into the reality of Smart House to make our life easy and comfortable. Electrical Appliances such as lights, fans, Night Lamp etc. can be controlled through a remote-control system. The Smart house can monitor the house and some part of it can be automated with the help of sensors. The Automation of garage door, window and Door security system will be used as the security measures of the house. This system will bring the smart house into reality.Following things will be the details about our progress on this Project in order to complete this project, Plan for Project-2, outline and workflow.

Development of a Prototype of the Smart Home System

This work reflects the results of the research of so-called “smart home” systems, and the analysis of the components necessary for building of such systems. It also includes the evaluation of a possible prototype of a “smart home” system based on the current trends in the IT industry. The paper discusses advantages and disadvantages of the key solutions and components best suited for the “smart home” systems. The draft of the example prototype of a “smart home” is based on evaluation of prospective components.

Literature Review on Home Automation System

One of the topics which is gaining popularity is Home Automation System because of itsinnumerous advantages. Home automation refers to the monitoring and controlling of home appliances remotely. with the never-ending growth of the Internet and its applications, there is much potential and scope for remote access and control and monitoring of such network enabled appliances. This paper deals with discussion of different intelligent home automation systems and technologies from a various features standpoint. The effort targeted on the home automation concept of where the controlling and monitoring operations are expediting through smart devices. Wide-ranging home automation systems and technologies considered in review with central controller based (Arduino or Raspberry pi), cloud-based, Bluetooth-based, SMS based, ZigBee based, mobile-based, RF Module based, web based and the Internet with performance.

Smart Home Automation Technique using IoT

The designed module presents a system, which is-designed to aid, and it provides support to carry out the needs of illness and ancient people in home. It gives the design of Home Automation System (HAS) with wireless system and inexpensive. It provides the smart home notion, which is in sequence to boost the level of wealth at home. The switch mode (ON/OFF) is used to control the home appliances. This controls system device wireless technology to provide remote access from smart phone. The design consists of existing electrical switches and it provides safety control on the switches with low voltage operating method. The system controls the electrical appliance and devices in home with low cost design, user-friendly interface and easy way of installation.

Design and Fabrication of Smart Home with Internet of Things Enabled Automation System

Home automation systems have attracted considerable attention with the advancement of communications technology. A smart home (SH) is an Internet of Things (IoT) application that utilizes the Internet to monitor and control appliances using a home automation system. Lack of IoT technology usage, unfriendly user interface, limited wireless transmission range, and high costs are the limitations of existing home automation systems. Therefore, this study presents a cost-effective and hybrid (local and remote) IoTbased home automation system with a user-friendly interface for smartphones and laptops. A prototype called IoT@HoMe is developed with an algorithm to enable the monitoring of home conditions and automate the control of home appliances over the Internet anytime and anywhere. This system utilizes a node microcontroller unit (NodeMCU) as a Wi-Fi-based gateway to connect different sensors and updates their data to Adafruit IO cloud server. The collected data from several sensors (radio-frequency identification, ultrasonic, temperature, humidity, gas, and motion sensors) can be accessed via If This Then That (IFTTT) on users' devices (smartphones and/or laptops) over the Internet regardless of their location. A set of relays is used to connect the NodeMCU to homes under controlled appliances. The designed system is structured in a portable manner as a control box that can be attached for monitoring and controlling a real house. The proposed IoT-based system for home automation can easily and efficiently control appliances over the Internet and support home safety with autonomous operation. IoT@HoMe is a low cost and reliable automation system that reduces energy consumption and can notably provide convenience, safety, and security for SH residents.

Controlling Mechanical Processes in a Modern House (Smart House

Comfort, Security and safety are very important factors to consider during design of a modern house. In fact, automated houses (smart houses) have great impact in maintaining healthy lifestyle and minimize energy usages. Maintaining all house processes in preciseness, accurately, and repeatedly manner are very crucial to achieve our goal. Human comforts and safety require monitoring each sub-dynamic system that is in a daily routine and during 24hours. As an example of common domestic controlled processes are watering garden, opening/closing doors, lighting, fire-alarms, safety-alarms, and air-condition. Without automation these processes that will require a responsible person to accomplish each task in a reputable schedule-time. The fact is that rarely one has time to do all of his/her house work or maybe another case where a disable resident needs help to maintain these mentioned processes. This research paper covers an available and easy way for everyone to automate his/her house using an affordable technique which makes use of small microcontroller called Arduino. The development of smart house, which can automatically open/close doors, watering garden, maintain security (alarm from dangerous), lighting during dark-time, controlling air-condition and display the results in an LCD screen. Feedback signals from each of the mentioned five close-loop control system are collected by the corresponding sensing methods. Soil-wetness, Ultrasonic-distance, Photocells, electronic thermometer are used as feedback measurement instruments, which were used to control each of the home-process. All the controlling processes and steps were coded and uploaded to Arduino-UNO.
