The Dyeability of Silk Fabrics with Annatto

Textile Coloration and Finishing, 2008

This study investigated the dyeing properties of silk fabrics with Annatto. The dye stuff was extracted by distilled water at 60℃, 10minutes, 1:100 of bath ratio. Dyeability(K/S) and color fastness of silk fabrics were tested under conditions of various concentrations, time, temperature, repeat-numbers of dyeing, pH, mordants variables and methods of mordanting. The highest absorbance was found in methanol extract of Annatto. The optimum dyeing concentration, time and temperature of silk fabrics with Annatto were 25%(o.w.f.), 60min and 60℃ respectively. The K/S value showed higher in post-mordanting than in pre-mordanting, and especially post-Fe mordant showed highest K/S value. In the case of colorfastness, Cu-mordanted fabrics were good washing fastness. Dry cleaning fastness appeared 4-5 grades and light fastness showed lowest grade.

Material Properties and Structural Characterization of M3Si6O12N2:Eu2+ (M=Ba, Sr)-A Comprehensive Study on a Promising Green Phosphor for pc-LEDs

Chemistry - A European Journal, 2010

This paper concerns the flexural behavior of steel fiber-reinforced ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) beams with compressive strength of 150 MPa. It presents experimental research results of hybrid steel fiber-reinforced UHPC beams with steel fiber content of 1.5% by volume and steel reinforcement ratio of less than 0.02. This study aims at investigating of compressive and tensile behavior of UHPC to perform a reasonable prediction for flexural capacity of UHPC beams. Tensile behavior modeling was performed using load-crack mouth opening displacement relationship obtained from bending test. The experimental results show that steel fiber-reinforced UHPC is in favor of cracking resistance and ductility of beams. The ductility indices range from 1.6 to 3.0, which means high ductility of hybrid steel fiber-reinforced UHPC. Test results and numerical analysis results for the moment-curvature relationship are compared. Though the numerical analysis results for the bending capacity of the UHPC beam without rebar is larger than test result, the overall comparative results show that the bending capacity of steel fiber-reinforced UHPC beams with compressive strength of 150 MPa can be predicted by using the established method in this paper.

Adhesive Property Changes Associated with the Content of Acrylic Acid Monomer and Aziridine Crosslinking Agent

Polymer Korea, 2012

Solution type pressure sensitive acrylic adhesives were synthesized from 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) as a base monomer and acrylic acid as a functional monomer. The surface energy and basic physical properties of synthesized PSA (pressure sensitive adhesives) were investigated as a function of contents of acrylic acid and crosslinking agent. The structures of adhesive were identified by FTIR. Viscosities and molecular weights of PSA were measured by a Brookfield viscometer and GPC, respectively. Consequently, molecular weight and viscosity increased as the contents of acrylic acid increased up to 6 wt% and then decreased at higher contents. Surface energy increased as the contents of acrylic acid increased owing to the increase of COOH groups, which yielded the enhancement of polarity of PSA. On the other hands, their peel strengths were inversely proportional to molecular weight and showed tendencies of decreasing as the contents of acrylic acid and crosslinking agent increased.

1P-429: Carbon Quantum Dots for Photocatalytic Oxidative Coupling Reactions of Amines

한국공업화학회 연구논문 초록집, 2016

209 we have interested in the development of a novel protocol for the synthesis of structurally diverse 2-pyridone derivatives. Herein, we describe the catalyst-and solvent-free thermal reactions for the construction of diverse 2-pyridones. As an application, we also report on the Sun-protection ability of the synthesized compounds.
