Role of Parental Support on Students' Achievement Research Scholar

The main objective of this study is to explore the role of parental support in students' overall achievement. In this study, researchers examined parental support as an independent variable. Considered student achievement as the dependent variable. The researcher has used the questionnaire survey method for quantitative research and interpreted the data obtained through the descriptive method. Altogether 386 students were taken using stratified sampling method. For information collection, researcher use the cross-sectional survey method of students studying at secondary level in 20 schools of Makwanpur district of Bagamati province, Nepal. According to the results of the study, parents (mother and father) who stay at home with their children and regularly help them in their learning and care, helps to improve the results of the students.

The present study aims to explore the relationship as well as difference between academic achievements of high and low parental support groups of male and female secondary school students. The study is hypothesised as there will be no relationship and difference between academic achievements of high and low parental support groups of male and female secondary school students. A sample size of 205 (Male & Female) secondary school students was drawn from four secondary schools of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh (U.P.) India. Non-probability purposive sampling was employed to draw the required sample. Mean. SD, Pearson Correlation and t- test was calculated for the analysis of data. Findings revealed the positive significant relationship as well as no significant difference between academic achievements and parental support of secondary school students. The Influence Of Parental Relationship On Students' Educational Attainment At Secondary Level In Karachi, Pakistan

Educators, researchers, teachers, and parents always give top priority to enhance their students' academic achievements. The present study tries to investigate the influence of parental relationships on students' school attainment at secondary level. The data was collected from 130 respondents' students from four schools of Lyari town Karachi. An adopted research instrument Parental Relation (PR) Scale (Parvin, M., 2003), was used to measuring the parents' relations and its impact on students' academic performance at secondary level.Students' last annual examinations, 2017-2018 were measured through obtained results. The quantitative research study design was used to analyze data through correlation coefficient and simple regression. The study findings revealed that secondary student's academic performance was significantly and positively associated with their parents' relations. Results also explained that parents' relations and its different dimensions were significant predicators of the student's academic achievement at secondary level. Moreover, school heads/schools'authorties should develop good coordination relations between school and parents' to helping student's performance during their school activities, and homework. The parent's active collaboration can support a between students' to enhance their academic performance.

Impact of Parental Support on the Academic Performance and Self Concept of the Student

This study examines the impact of educational support given by the parents on the academic achievement and on the self concept of grade 4 public school students. The aims of this study were (a) to examine the linkage between academic achievement and educational support provided to the child at home and, (b) to determine whether this support directly or indirectly effects child's self concept. The data regarding parental support, its effects on the academic achievement and the self concept were collected from a sample (N =305) of grade 4 students in the urban primary and elementary public schools. The sample students who have or have not parental support were compared on two measures, (a) the annual school result report and, (b) the self concept scale. The self concept was measured twice i.e. before one month of annual school examination and after one month of announcement of annual results. The findings of the study revealed that parents' contribution to their children's education has a consistent and positive effect on academic achievement and on the self-concept.

An Empirical Study on the Role of Parents in Academic Achievement of Children in Private Schools of Karachi

This study examines the parental involvement in the academic achievement of the children in Old Golimar, Karachi. The factors included in the study were parental involvement which is measured with; communicating of parents, decision making of parents, friendly behavior of parents, qualification of parents, parents' schools' association, parent child interaction, parent teachers' meetings, to understand the children, solving children problems, helping the children in school works and academic achievement which is measured with; response of children, potential of children, hesitation of children, outcome of children, academic performance, good marks, participation in activities, school work completion, good attendance, being active in class, understanding the lecture and over all factors of parental involvement in the academic performances of the children in Old Golimar, Karachi. After getting the list of total enrollments of schools then the researcher used Raosoft sample size calculator, and got the sample of 165 out of total population, which was 714. Proportionate stratified sampling technique was used and data collected through a structured questionnaire. The results and findings of the whole research show that there is a significant relationship between the parental involvement and the academic achievement of the children.

A Study of the Impact of Parental Support on the Student’s Academic Achievement in Selected Primary Schools in Indonesia

This study aimed to examine how parents support their children’s learning process. This phenomenological qualitative study was conducted among six parents of selected primary schools. These parents were divided into three categories; non-working mothers, working mothers, and working fathers. Individual interviews were carried out to collect the data for the study. Results revealed that the parents agreed to and lauded the importance of parental support. However, the results indicated that the parent’s knowledge of parental support differed and their experiences also varied. They faced similar challenges in supporting their children’s learning but developed different strategies to overcome them based on their different social backgrounds, genders, and occupations.

Parental Involvement and Academic Achievement; A Study on Secondary School Students of Lahore, Pakistan

The present research aims to explore the effect of parental involvement in the academic achievement of their children. The research was conducted in Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore city. A total of 150 students (boys and girls) of 9 th class of secondary schools (public and private) were taken as respondents. Four schools were selected through simple random sampling which include one boy and one girl from each of the public and private schools categories for equal representation of both boy and girl students in the sample frame of present study. Survey questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. After the analysis of data, it was found that parental involvement has significance effect in better academic performance of their children. The present research has proved that parental involvement enhanced the academic achievements of their children.

School role in improving parenting skills and academic performance of secondary schools students in Pakistan

Background: This research investigated the association between school role in improving parenting skills and the academic performance of secondary school students. And to examine the role of student gender, literacy status of the parents and parental importance to children education in the association between school role in improving parenting skills and students' academic performance. Methods: A multistage stratified random sampling technique was adopted to portray information from 448 students on a Likert scale. Chi-square, Kendall's Tau-c tests were used to determine the direction and strength of association among variables. Results: The results depicted that the association of children's academic performance was found significant (P ¼ 0.000) and positive (Tau-c ¼ 0.215) with school capacitating parents how to monitor and discuss schoolwork at home with children, assisting parents in setting academic goals for children (P ¼ 0.000, Tau-c ¼ 0.225). Moreover, the respondent's gender, parent literacy status and parental importance to children's education explained variation in the association between school role in improving parenting skills and children's academic performance. Conclusions: The school role in improving parenting skills significantly and positively contributed to children's academic performance. Moreover, boys, children of literate parents and children whose parents give more importance to their education with school active role in improving parenting skills were more liable to score higher grades.

This study investigates the impact of parental encouragement on academic achievement. Through surveys and interviews, we explore the connection between parental support and student success, highlighting the importance of a supportive home environment in fostering educational attainment. The findings emphasize the crucial role parents play in their children's academic journey, offering valuable insights for educators and families alike. A survey method was employed, and the investigator used random sampling technique. The sample consist of fifty students of higher secondary school students from five different schools of Jalandhar city.
