O Primeiro Atendimento Clinico no Imaginario de Estudantes de Psicologia

2013

Considering the academic development of the psychologist as a complex process which articulates the transmission of scientific knowledge and changes in imaginative activity, we psychoanalytically investigate the collective imaginary of Psychology students regarding the first clinical consultation. We conducted a group interview with 52 undergraduate students, using the Thematic Story-Drawing Procedure as a way to open a dialogical field. The material obtained, through the psychoanalytical method, resulted in the creation/gathering of four affective-emotional meaning fields: “I came, I saw and I conquered”, “I know that I (do not) know”, “I survived and I will save” and “I am and I do”, from which we see an emotionally immature imaginary about the meeting with the patient, since students are more self-centered than concerned with the patient. The overall situation indicates the need for care regarding student academic development, in order to encourage a more mature approach toward t...

É Uma Porta Que Se Abre : Reflexões Sobre Questões Conceituais e De Identidade Profissional Na Construção Do Raciocínio Clínico Em Terapia Ocupacional

Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional, 2019

Introduction: Placing practice in words is an arduous task for occupational therapists by considering the narrative aspects of practice in the complex and multifaceted relationships between human beings and society. Language favors the naming and conceptualization of what is done and opens up space of understanding and deepening of knowledge. Objective: To discuss the need to conceptualize terms to better delineate professional practice. Method: A participatory action research, organized as a community of practice for the development of clinical reasoning, with the participation of novice and experienced occupational therapists, had its data analyzed thematically, highlighting the construction of meanings about care in occupational therapy in mental health (practical, theoretical and conceptual specificities), in the light of the Dynamic Occupational Therapy Method. Results: The reflection on the shared practice favored the identification of dilemmas around the therapeutic activity and, as it gained conceptual clarity, favored the valuation of the context and the actions in occupational therapy. Conclusion: When practice is placed as an object of study, identifying statements capable of representing it, our professional field of knowledge and practice gain clarity and provide visibility to practice and epistemic communities more critical, situated, coherent, meaningful and complex.

A Dimensão Axiológica No Diagnóstico Psiquiátrico

Acta Bioethica, 2009

This paper addresses the need to consider the valoric constitution of patients and therapists in the context of psychiatric encounters and proposes the notion of axiogram, a depiction of values and moral beliefs to incorporate into the clinical history as a proxy to a nosological dimension complementing the traditional multiaxial approach.

Rivista di Psicologia Clinica n°1-2013 4 Re-defining the role of clinical psychologists: from the epistemological in-depth analysis of some starting points 1 to the representation of new proposal elements

This article inserts in the debate-with reference to Salvatore's editorial-in order to offer an epistemological and scientific contribution to be made available to Clinical Psychology with the aim of handling the critical aspects that the discipline is facing. On the one hand, these critical facets are related to current historical contingency regarding the so-called change in intervention requests made by users and, on the other hand, they concerns with structural aspects that refer to Psychology discipline origin and to cognitive, first, and operative, then, approach it acquired in the course of time. Therefore, starting from the exigencies that the Community expresses, it is necessary to draw an epistemological and scientific reflection in order to offer a proposal of guide lines addressed to handling either general critical aspects clinical psychology is facing and the aspects pertaining to and concerning with the clinical psychologist role. The reasoning will develop describing the two cognitive ways available to human species-common sense and scientific sense. The demarcating features that define these two ways of shaping reality will be (re) proposed, with the aim of entering into the merits of elements that allow clinical psychology going along grounding on scientific sense. On the basis of the reflections above mentioned and of epistemological analysis of the operative model that had generated Psychology-the medical model-the article will enter into the merits of implications and repercussions undermining the discipline outliving. In conclusion, in view of what will emerge from the arguments offered as epistemological in-depth analysis, the article will advance a scenario describing other and different "chances" of Clinical Psychology that enable both handling of critical aspects that are currently characterizing it and tracing guide lines of a possible development.

Psychoanalysis and Social Interface: Brazilian Projects

Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society, 2008

The authors present five projects of the Program for Psychoanalysis and Social Interface of the Brazilian Psychoanalytic Society of Rio de Janeiro (PROPIS/SBPRJ-BRAZIL), developed together with several social institutions and outside the classical psychoanalytical setting. Despite the setting, these projects center on sustaining psychoanalytical rigor in technical innovations. The authors believe that projects such as these can contribute to improving mental health and social links in contemporary society.
