Community Based Tourism Management at Pinge Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali

The demand of something different has driven tourism destination to make new attractions to accommodate various needs of tourists. The idea of presenting authentic local attraction has given local people something to expect from tourism. Thus the idea of community based tourism emerges. This research was conducted at Pinge Village in Tabanan Regency; focusing on the management of the Pinge Village governing body, which consists of the local people themselves. The purpose of this research is to identify and illustrate the role of the governing body for the benefit of the local people. The data collection is done by observation, interview, and literature review. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative research. The result is that the governing body is responsible for managing the village's attraction, activities, and facilities, namely trekking, performing arts, farming activities, cooking class, and home stay. These attractions, activities and facilities are either owned personally by the villagers or owned by the village. The aim of the governing body is to make the people and village prosperous.

The growth of tourism accommodation (villa) in the district of Kuta Utara, which is so rapid and uncontrolled, tends to have raised some concerns on the impact that may arise (socio-cultural, environmental and economic). The gap between benefit and cost of the phenomenon raises the question of how perception, response, changes the behavior of the culture and mindset of the local community towards the development of their area travel accommodation. Managing Community-based Tourism: A Stakeholder Approach in Bali, Indonesia

This article discusses a model of communitybased tourism management: a stakeholder approach, which is developed based on tourism stakeholder theory of ‘Threefolding’ and Penta Helix. This is a qualitative research conducted in six CBT villages in five regencies in Bali, Indonesia. Data on CBT stakeholder participation is collected from four types of respondents, namely: CBT management, village authority, community-service provider, and community member. The results show that there is overlapped position of stakeholder elements especially the community and the government. It is discovered that the complex nature of CBT stakeholder structure is rooted from the use of public asset by the CBT. The roles of the stakeholder component are highly varied based on the extent of contribution provided by the respective stakeholder element. Village tourism for the benefit of the community in the development of tourism, so that people with culture are not only for tourism purposes, but are able to improve welfare and preservation. The purpose of this research is to study the readiness of the Bongkasa Pertiwi Tourism Village as a tourism village based on Community Based Tourism. There are several aspect to analyze the readiness of tourism village, i.e.: (1) Socio-economic aspects, (2) Socio-cultural aspects, (3) Environmental aspects (4) management aspects. Based on the results of an assessment of the readiness of developing the Bongkasa Pertiwi Tourism Village, the level of community-based tourism development readiness is quite potential. Some aspects that are decisive in the readiness to develop Community Based Tourism are social and environmental aspects with sufficient potential, while the socio-economic and management aspects have potential that is not yet optimal.

The Indonesian government is promoting the development of the potential of villages through the tourism village program, but the formation of a tourism village requires prior study to assess its feasibility as a tourism destination. This study aims to analyze the potential and develop strategies for developing Babahan Village in Tabanan Regency, Bali Province as a culture-based tourism village. This research is a qualitative descriptive study which begins with data collection of tourism potential using SWOT analysis and continued with the IFAS-EFAS method. This study discussed the concept of sustainable tourism development which used participation-based of local communities in northern Bali, especially in Ambengan village in accordance with the concept of community-based tourism (CBT). To achieve the objectives of the research, this study has identified potential Ambengan village as a community-based tourism products, which consists of; attraction, accessibilities, amenities, ancillaries, activity, and community involvement.
