HOME AUTOMATION SYSTEM USING INTERNET OF THINGS
Internet of things is a growing network of everyday object-from industrial machine to consumer home appliances that can share information and complete tasks while you are busy with other activities. The IoT aims to unify everything in our world under a common infrastructure, giving us not only control of things around us, but also keeping us informed of the state of the things. Home automation with the proliferation of IoT is becoming a reality now, and a variety of players like, Apple, Amazon, Google, Samsung, are all converging into this space to provide the platform and solutions for smart homes. In Light of this, present study addresses IoT concepts through systematic review of scholarly research papers, corporate white papers, professional discussions with experts and online databases. The main objective of this paper is to provide an overview of Internet of Things, architectures, and vital technologies and their usages in our daily life.
A Survey on Internet of Things Based Home Automation System
A low cost and user friendly smart home system, which uses an Android application to communicate with the cloud and provides switching functionalities, is presented. The System eliminates the use of Personal Computer (PC) and other Computer Peripherals which leads to overall reduction in the cost of the system. Unlike the similar system which uses either of the Bluetooth module network, the proposed system uses Internet of Things (IoT) for monitoring and controlling the Electrical/Electronic Appliances, remotely. Switches of Electrical/Electronic appliances are integrated to the system in order to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the system.
Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging technology which is covering everyday things from industrial machinery to consumer goods in order to exchange information and complete tasks while involved in other work. IoT based smart home automation system is a system that uses PCs, mobile phones or remote devices to control basic operations for home automatically from anyplace around the world using internet. The proposed intelligent home automation system differs from existing systems as it allows the user to operate the system from anywhere around the world by using internet connection along with intelligent nodes that can take decisions according to the environmental conditions. We implemented a home automation system using sensor nodes that are directly connected to Arduino microcontrollers. Microcontroller is programmed so that it can perform some basic operations on the basis of sensors data. e.g. fan is controlled on basis of temperature value and light is controlled on the basis of occurrence of motion in the room etc. Furthermore Arduino board is connected to the internet using Wi-Fi module. An extra feature this system provides is to monitor power consumption of different home appliances. The designed system provides the user remote control of numerous appliances locally as well as outside the home. This designed system is expandable, allowing multiple devices to be controlled. The objective of the proposed system is to provide a low cost and efficient solution for home automation system by using IoT. Results show that the proposed system is able to handle all controlling and monitoring of home.
A Comparative Study of Internet of Things Based Home Automation System

The functions of a home automation system to computerize bulk of technological along with electrical chores in a household. To control and manage appliances and gadgets inside a home, this requires a combination of hardware and software. The primary goal of using the Internet of Things (IoT) to track electrical gadgets in the current world is to manage them according to situational demands. With the advent of technology, there is a growing demand for efficient monitoring because it improves efficiency and reduces power and resource waste. This method can be used to prevent turning on lights during the day. In the field of home automation, Node MCU is quite popular. Its Wi-Fi capabilities and Arduino IDE support make it ideal for IoT applications.
Home Automation System using Internet of Things (IOT)

The aim is to create a home automation system that performs all basic functions of a virtual assistant like telling the time, date, temperature and also controlling the electrical appliances that it is connected to. The entire system is aimed to be voice operated so that there is no need to type anything at all. Apart from the voice operated commands, the system will also take the help of certain sensors to provide automation to certain appliances. The main objective that has to be kept in mind for this work is that it is developed for making everyday life of a user easy. Getting things done without actually having to make an effort to do it is the main motto. Apart from this, the system also aims to provide for efficient utilization of electricity. This is achieved by the use of IOT technology and appliances like lights turn off without any explicit command by the user.
Controlling of Home Appliances Using Internet of Things
—In this new millennium of modern technology, everything is getting automated. Manual work is replaced by machines which reduced the burden on human beings. Nowadays humans have made internet an integral part of their everyday life without which they are helpless. Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of networks in which each object is identified by a unique identity that allows devices to connect, sensed and controlled remotely across a network infrastructure. In this paper we focus on controlling of home appliances by using internet of things. The devices connected to the cloud server are controlled by admin by giving commands. The controlling can be done by using Arduino. This whole system using Internet of Things (IoT) will be used to control home appliances from anywhere in the world by using internet connection. The system designed is economical and can be expanded as it allows connection and controlling of a number of different devices. Internet of Things (IoT) is an emergingtechnology that is making our world a global village. An IoT based Home automation is also one of such examples. In IoT based home automation various things such as lighting, home appliances, computers etc., all are connected to the Internet and allowing user to monitor and control things regardless of time and location constraint. This paper uses ThingSpeak IoT Platform for controlling home appliances through internet. The proposed system presented in this paper is used for controlling of home appliances through Internet of Things(IoT).

When it comes to automation and smart homes, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a crucial idea in today's world. It has to do with the automation of things through computing, in which all things and physical devices can be connected in order to make them sentient and programmable so that they can interact with humans. IoT is a cloud computing network that allows users to access physical objects or control equipment over a wireless network from any distance, at any time and in any location. One example of IoT technology is smart home automation. The usage of IoT in smart home automation was completely adopted in the twenty-first century, according to this study, by guaranteeing that household appliances and equipment were connected. This sort of IoT design not only controls devices, but also stores sensor data in the cloud and acts on it. The cloud is used to deliver sensor data via Wi-Fi module, and then a decision tree is applied to determine the output of the electronic devices. IoT-based services help to improve the domestic environment and are utilised for a variety of purposes. IoT applications based on home automation are flexible and widely used. This provides access to specific data in the house as well as the ability to control various parameters remotely. This article details the entire architecture of a smart home automation system based on IoT sensing and monitoring. The suggested smart home automation system prototype is constructed and tested on hardware in this project, allowing the user to control a limited number of household appliances using the bylnk application. The NodeMCU (ESP8266) microcontroller is used, and communication between the microcontroller and the application is done using Wi-Fi (Internet).

Home automation has made its way from science fiction movies to forefront of consumer market. It is not just the new buzzword; it is making life simpler and less demanding. This paper presents the design of Home Automation System which uses conventional development board with sensors and also include concepts like deep learning techniques via cloud for provision of idiosyncratic features. This low cost and reliable control and monitoring system runs over internet and is therefore free from physical restrictions. This Smart Home Controller could be fitted inside home without infrastructure changes. The proposed system consists of a Raspberry Pi, a camera, android mobile, Relays, multiple sensors. The feed from the camera will take pictures and match them with households to make sure only authorized people get house access. The computation will be done on cloud using AWS. The user can also control the system using android based application. This System also responds to voice commands to Google Assistant. The system is very flexible and user friendly.

Home automation depends on a multimodal application that can be worked using the client's voice acknowledgment order utilizing the Google Assistant or an online application. Accordingly, the fundamental goal of this work is to make our home automation framework safer and astute.
