The pandemic caused by the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus had a significant impact on the nursing profession. It is known that nurses are one of the professions that are required to be ready to work, even to be at the forefront. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a more in-depth analysis of the factors related to the performance of nurses, with the pandemic not causing the performance of nurses to decrease. This study aims to analyze the effect of meaningful work and work engagement on work performance, either partially or simultaneously. This research is a quantitative study using primary data from distributing questionnaires to 326 nurses on duty at hospitals that are referrals for patients exposed to Covid-19, in Malang Raya, East Java, Indonesia. Furthermore, the data in this study were analyzed using the regression method with Minitab software. The results of this study indicate that both partially and simultaneously meaningful work and work engagement affect the work performance of nurses.
A Study on Employee Engagement and Their Impact on Employee Performance

Employee Engagement refers the level of commitment and involvement of the employees towards their organization and its values. The aim of this study is to study the impact of employee engagement on employee performance and also to study the factors affecting employee engagement. The factors are pay and benefits, Health and safety, Performance appraisal, performance of the company, communication, training, leadership, grievance procedure, career development and other benefits. The research design of the study is causal and descriptive in nature. The data are collected through structured questionnaire and the sample size is 100 employees. For the analysis of the data descriptive statistic, Kolmogorav-simirnov test and cross tabulation. The result of the study discovered that employees are satisfied with overall performance of the company. All the factors of Employee engagement are affecting the employee performance in the positive way at the organization.

Competitive environment provides an opportunity to grow for banks. Whereas in Pakistan banks are unable to create work engagement environment which, results in low job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The aim of this study was to investigate the determinants of employee engagement in Pakistan's banking sector. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from banking sector employees. The results clearly indicate that core self-evaluation and service environment of organization are positively and significantly related with employee engagement. This indicates the optimism of the employees which reflects that they invest more power, energy and engage their selves in the best way to utilize resources and time on work floor.
Effect of Work Engagement on Employee Performance

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of work engagement on RRI Kupang employees based on three dimensions: vigor, dedication, and absorption. A simple linear regression model was used as the analytical method in this study. The data processing technique was carried out with the help of a computer program (Software) called SPSS. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics with a continuum line to describe the condition of the unit of analysis based on the respondents' responses to the research variables. Thirty-eight employees participated in the study. According to the Alpha Cronbach validity test, 18 valid items were obtained. The descriptive results show that Work Engagement has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance at RRI Kupang, supported by the coefficient of determination analysis results, which show that Work Engagement affects Employee Performance at RRI Kupang. This means that the higher the Work Engagement of RRI Kupang employees, the higher the employee performance; conversely, the lower the Work Engagement, the lower the employee performance. According to the results of hypothesis testing, work engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance at RRI Kupang. According to the findings of this study, the coefficient of determination (R 2) on employee performance is 61.3 percent, with the remaining 38 percent influenced by other factors.

It is evident that high performance work practices are bringing competitive advantage to the organizations. On the other hand, employee engagement is all about employee's cognitive, emotional and behavioral involvement of his/her job as well as with the organization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the intervening role or the mediating role of employee engagement on the relationship between high performance work practices and employee job performance. Methodology. Data gathered from 135 managerial level employees in the Sri Lankan public listed banks. Hypothesis was developed based on the theoretical assertions and empirical evidence. Three hypotheses were tested in a non-contrive study setting as a cross sectional study. After the reliability is ensured the correlation, regression and sobel test used to examine the hypothesized relationships. Results. The findings of this study reveals that significant mediating effect of employee engagement on the relationship between High Performance. Work practices and employee job performance. Practical іmplications. This study is beneficial for the banks to improve their job performance by adopting high performance work practices including realistic job preview, pay for performance, staff attitude surveys, selfdirected teams, regular appraisals, extensive training and symbolic egalitarianism. Originality. This study makes two theoretical contributions. A novel theoretical framework built on the foundation of system theory is presented first, laying the groundwork for further investigation. Secondly, this study adds new knowledge to signaling theory by ensuring the high-performance work practices such as symbolic egalitarianism signals the employee that the organization recognize their worth and enhance and their job performance.
A Comparative Analysis of Employee Engagement
The current research study explores employee engagement in public and private sector. The study explores and enumerates the factors which would lead to employee engagement in public and private sector, in banks and insurance companies focusing on front line and managerial level of employees. The objective of the research study was also to investigate how public and private sectors influence employee engagement, in two types of organizations (Banks & Insurance) and at two levels of organizational hierarchy. Sample consisted of 280 employees working in public and private sector organizations. Employee engagement scale was developed by Gallup organization. The data were analyzed with the help of ANOVA and t-test in order to see the significance of difference among various groups. Employee Engagement was found to be better in case of private sector, and when Motivation was compared in two types of organizations within public and private i.e Bank and Insurance, it was found that the employees of Insurance had better motivation than Bank employees. Positive Feedback was better in case of private sector than public sector. The difference between the two was also found to be significant. This study aimed to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender and length of service in the university; to determine the level of work engagement in terms of vigor, dedication and absorption; to test the differences on the level of respondents' work engagement when they are grouped according to profile; to determine the overall employee performance of Colleges and support services and to analyze the relationship between work engagement and work unit's performance. Descriptive type of research method was utilized in the study. The standardized instrument of Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) was used to measure work engagement. Results showed that the school employees have high work engagement in terms of vigor, dedication and absorption with highly satisfied performance evaluation rating. Married employees are more dedicated to work due to their matured role and responsibilities over their families. Employees belong to age bracket with more than 40 years have higher engagement towards work due to the level of their expertise in carrying out various tasks everyday compared to those young and middle age employees. There are also employees with high level of dedication towards work which is not being translated or rated to high performance.
The Relationship Between Antecedents of Employee Engagement & Employee Engagement in Banking Sector

This study aims to find the precursors that influence employees engagement, as the organizational performance becomes progressively worse due to high turnover and related matters such as high absenteeism, low loyalty and productivity. This exploratory research was conducted among employees working in the banking sector to test the relationship between the antecedents comprising of employee communication, employee development, reward and recognition and extended employee care. Structured questionnaire was the best method to collect data. The researcher used statistical inference & Multiple Regression to test the relationship between variables. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between antecedents comprising of employee communication, employee development, reward and recognition and extended employee care. Among the antecedents, employee development forms the most significant contributor. The data was collected directly from employees working in various banking sector across Aqaba, Jordan. It provides first hand information on relationship between Antecedents and employee engagement.
