Abstract: Music has unlimited powers, is a well established fact. It has soothing and healing power. Just as the application of balm relieves our brain of its ache and tension, so musician relax the tense muscles of our body. The melodious notes of music have the capacity to cure the mental or physical fatigue of a weary person. Music has magical power. This is testified by the fact that Orpheus a legendary Greek Musician could make stones dance to his music. The stories of Tansen and Baiju Bawra are not unknown to us. They could light lamps, melt stones, blossom flowers in autumn, cause rain just by the accurate use of the accurate tune. There is no doubt about the various powers of music, but the aspect of music which is of the greatest value to the human being is its emotional aspect. At present music has spread in all the directions. Every one is fond of listening music and his fan of an artist of his choice and he like to listen his songs. If we see any part of life we can hear and the feel lyrics of the music. Door bell in the house or in telephone ring we can hear different type of music. Wall clocks also spread musical tune the whole universe is under the impact of music. Music can be heard in temples, mosque, Gurudwara's and church early in the morning and evening. In cars buses, tractors, etc. songs can be heard through tape recorder. Music has become popular now a days but in its fame important role is played by the radio and T.V. Today we can see and listen every singer and instrument players while sitting at home. Every work begins with the lyrics and ends also with the lyrics.
The Effect of Background Music on Academic Performance

Many people claim that music has a significant effect on behavior and development. Only limited research has been conducted to verify the effect of music on academic performance. We studied the effects of background music on performance of students from Biostatistics class and Computer Information Technology (CIT) class. Among total of 40 students, 20 from Biostatistics class and 20 from CIT class were used for research. Quizzes were given to both classes with music and without music. An ANOVA test was done to analyze the results. In both classes, music had no effect either positively or negatively. Music did not show any effect in our research does not mean that music can be played in class. More research is needed to understand the effects of music on academic performance. Grouping students based on their choice of music and increasing the number of students might help to understand the relation of music on academic
The Role of Music in the Education of Youth

The effect of music on human behaviour is a case having been known for centuries. There have been various studies into the source of stress, aggressive behaviours and depression dominating over the youth of university in recent years. In this study, we tried to enlighten the reasons of strains on the youth, taking the issue of the effect of music on the education of the youth. We presented the effect of various music on human behaviour with examples. We tried to explain how mysterious effect of music affected the youth, their physical and spiritual developments. We supported the issue with historical and current events. The problem is not merely Turkish-Islamic youth. In this study, we aimed the training of the youth universally by taking the whole youth in the world into consideration.

Music is a remarkable part of human society. The fact that music has been part of our cultures for so long shows how much of an integral part it plays in what makes us human beings. The aim of this report is to understand the various ways that music can influence society. This research attempts to explain the way that music can affect human behaviour through focus on the ‘self’, Space and place, and Social community. Music can have a profound effect on the lives of human being, enriching their everyday experiences and changing the way that they view the world. As far back as ancient Greece, the importance of music has been noted and studied, which has led to modern research uncovering just how important it can be. This dissertation investigates the links between music and the formation of identities; including emotional effects of music and the creation of subcultures, whilst looking at research which links music taste with social structures such as class and ethnicity. It examines the way that music can improve intellect, physical activity and create trends within consumerist activity. Finally, it seeks to examine how music can be employed towards specific goals; from media usage all the way to its influences on social change. There is no doubt that music effects society, influencing the human race from the smallest areas of social behaviour to the largest. Thus, the following dissertation aims to uncover the various ways that music influences society and just how important these influences are to our way of life.

Recent advances in the study of the brain have enhanced our understanding of the way that active engagement with music may influence other activities. The cerebral cortex selforganises as we engage with different musical activities, skills in these areas may then transfer to other activities if the processes involved are similar. Some skills transfer automatically without our conscious awareness, others require reflection on how they might be utilised in a new situation.
Music as a means of society development
This research paper will focus on how radio stations should do away with the traditional form of news reading and resort to a lively interaction with the masses through music and developed projects in that field. Based on an assumption that music has the power to ease frustration and channel energy into a productive project, community radios should work towards unifying the sentiments of their people through music and lyrics that are meaningful, and can at least try to eradicate a few negative habits like drug abuse, alcohol overdose and gang membership.
Ignore it at your own Peril: Using Music to Enhance the Quality of Education
Music is an integral part of culture and is crucial in the development of an all round individual. Its influence begins before birth and continues after death. Education, on the other hand, ought to develop the whole person from birth and throughout life. Therefore music and education play a complementary role and cannot be divorced-there is education in music and music in education. Without music, education becomes diluted and degraded. This paper highlights research on music and holistic education of the learner. Holistic education involves the cognitive, physical, spiritual and socio-emotional development. The review revealed that music is indispensable in quality education. The paper concludes by recommending that music be included at all levels to improve quality of education.
