This study examined how Javanese students perceiveacademic failure in their life from an indigenous psychology perspective. The perspective intends to give a contextual understanding that is rarely found. This research uses qualitative method with an open-ended questionnaire to carry out a deep understanding of respondent's own experiences. The asked question was "What is the influence of academic failure in your life today?" The participants of this study are 80 undergraduate Javanese students who arestudying in Yogyakarta by the time of data collection. The age range of the participants is 18-22 years old. Then, the obtainedmultiple responds data areanalyzed using thematic content analysis. The categorized data is analyzed using cross-tabulations. The finding of this study shows that students reported academic failure as lesson-learned (41,4%), self-development (35,3%), negative emotion (7,07%), burdensome (6,06%), regretful (5,05%), and others which consisted of shy, material benefit, parents’ disappointment, got some friends (5,05%). Presented in this study is the Coping Mechanism of the HUMSS Senior High School Students of St. Paul University Surigao in the New Normal. The factors that help determine the coping mechanism of the students were emotion-focused and problem-focused. There were 75 Grade 11 and 121 students from the Grade 12, as participants of the study using the purposive random sampling technique. Each participant was sent a link to a researchers-made questionnaire using Google form as a medium of the survey. The data gathered were analyzed by the following descriptive statistical tools: (a) frequency distribution and percentage, (b) mean and standard deviation, (c) analysis of variance (ANOVA).With this, the coping mechanism when it comes to emotion-focused had an average of 3.19 and was described as often. Students who study while working must balance the demands of lectures and jobs at once. Individuals will make various efforts to master unpleasant demands, also known as coping strategies. On the other hand, emotional intelligence can influence the choice of someone's coping strategy, whether it tends to use problem-focused coping or emotion-focused coping. The aims of this study were to prove the relationship between emotional intelligence and coping strategy. The subjects of this study are 105 work-study computer science students of STMIK Mikroskil Medan selected by purposive sampling. Data was collected from scale to measure emotional intelligence and coping strategy. The analysis of data was performed by Pearson Product Moment Correlation with SPSS 19.00 for Windows. Result showed that there was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and coping strategy. Another result showed that there was a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping.

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of problem focused coping strategies on reducing academic stress in grade VIII SMP. This research was quantitative study using quasi experimental design with non-equvalent control group design. The population are 180 students. The sample was obtained using purposive sampling technique and gained 10 students consisting 5 students as experimental group and 5 students as control group. The data collection technique used was the scale of academic stress. The data analysis technique used in this study was the wilcoxon non-parametric statistic. The result of the study show the problem focused coping strategies is influential on reducing academic stress (sig=0,042 <0,05). Therefore problem focused coping strategies is influential on reducing academic stress in grade VIII SMP.

Academic resilience is important for students to have in their academic process. Based on preliminary research conducted by researchers, there was a low academic resilience, while spiritual intelligence tended to be high. This research aims to find out the relationship between spiritual intelligence and academic resilience of vocational school students in North Semarang. The type of research used in this study is quantitative correlational. Sampling using simple random sampling techniques. Academic stress can have a negative effect on a student's cognitive, emotional and behavioural well-being. Furthermore, academic stress could also cause a decline in student’s academic performance. Introduction: In the process of growing, adolescents experience stress and their coping abilities determine the outcome. School training further adds to this stressful situation. It is noteworthy that persistently high stress levels will impair students" academic achievement, personal and professional development. This article describes the prevalence of stress, stressors and coping strategies among secondary school students in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted on secondary school students in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia. Secondary school and participant selections were done via stratified random sampling with a sample size of 505 students. The 12-item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), Secondary School Stressors Questionnaire (3SQ) and Brief COPE inventory were selfadministered to measure stress level, sources of stress and coping strategies respectively among the participants. Results: Out of 505 selected participants, 421 (83.36%) responded to this survey. This study found that the prevalence of distressed secondary school students was 32.8%. The major stressors for all types of schools were academic-related issues. This study showed that the students in technical school were more distressed than students elsewhere. Among the most frequent coping strategies used by the students were religion, positive reinterpretation, use of instrumental support, active coping and planning. There were relationships between intrapersonal and interpersonal related stressor, academic achievements, level of school and academic related stressor, attention from parent, behavioral disengagement, self-blame and planning coping strategies with stress level of the students. Conclusion: This study found that there was a high prevalence of distressed negatively stressed secondary school students, the major stressors were related to academic and contributing factors of stress were related to school training, students and parents. Training students on positive coping strategies, reducing stressor-related school training, and improving parent and teacher supports to the students will help to improve this condition.
Religious and Spiritual Coping Used by Student in Dealing with Stress and Anxiety
World Health Organization (WHO) has described the meaning of total well-being as balanced and functioning of human faculty encompassing physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Student sometime forget this important fact, thus they neglect some of the important elements of wellbeing. Most students can handle the transition to college easily using various coping mechanisms. There are many productive ways that have been suggested as coping strategies for students. This paper seeks to review how spiritual and religious coping strategies are used by Muslim 'Tahfiz' students in dealing with their academic and personal issues. The research used DASS and MRPI questionnaire to measure stress and anxiety level as well as religious and spiritual coping strategies. The results indicated that the student shows mild to low stress and anxiety level with high religious personality.
