Higher Educational Institutions plays a pivotal role in socio economic development of any country. Paradigm shift in knowledge dispersion, dissemination leads to the need of assured quality in higher educational institutions. The paper strives to identify the approaches of TQM that can be implemented through long term planning towards continuous improvement of higher educational institution. TQM is customer focus approach involving management for detecting and eliminating error emphasizing upon process and product sphering around each and every element of an organization. The paper is based on an extensive research conducted on previous work done in the aligning areas of quality improvement in educational institutions. A lot of researcher have been studied (TQM) around the world by educational institution , that's indicators how is very important quality assurance in education sector based on revolution and hyper competition between institution specially university. accordingly this paper focus on TQM as a approach used in organization to enhance managerial method pulse increase the performance at university output. so the main objectives in this paper to concentration on principle of TQM. Also, it studies the core concept of principle and highlight on important part that enhances the quality in university plus that what the distinguish from others papersto achieve academic excellence.
A model for total quality management in higher education
Total quality management (TQM) is widely recognised as a management philosophy for improving customer satisfaction and organisational performance. However, there is no consensus over the critical success factors of TQM, in particular, in higher education (HE) and developing countries. Literature shows mixed results on the success and applicability of TQM principles in education, thus, underlining the need to revisit the application of TQM principles in HE. This paper identifies the critical success factors of TQM in Pakistani universities. Data was collected from faculty members of universities through questionnaires. The findings reveal that 'leadership', 'vision', 'measurement and analysis', 'process control and evaluation', 'programs design and resources allocation' and 'stakeholder focus' emerge as the critical success factors of TQM in HE. The findings have implications at macro, meso, and micro levels of HE.

Higher education can play a crucial role in the economic and cultural reconstruction and development of the nations. For hundreds of years, the universities and effective educational systems are development factors and agents of change in their communities. Jordan is one of the pioneer countries in higher education due to its credibility; so many students from Arab and foreign countries come to study in. Over the last ten years, a lot of innovative experiments are being done to improve the performance and introduced several laws and constitutions for both academic and educational standards aimed to further develop and improve its ability to compete consistently by successive Jordanian governments, realizing the importance of this sector for socioeconomic and cultural development and this requires an ideal governance and service delivery, but the system of higher education in Jordan must be reshaped, the strength must be maintained, but the weaknesses must be addressed and developed, to serve a new social order, to meet the pressing national needs, and to respond to a context of new realities and opportunities. Through this piece of work, this research paper is a theoretical attempt to explain the implementation of TQM in higher education institutions in Jordan, and deals with issues related to quality in higher education, and identify variables influencing quality in this sector.
A STUDY ON TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION
After independence there is a remarkable growth in the higher education system of India. There is a continuous growth in the higher education instead of various challenges like globalization, financing, infrastructure facilities, quality management etc. In order to develop the higher education, the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) cannot be under estimated. There is a great literature about the TQM in the manufacturing sector; health sector etc. but still there is a lack of useful literature regarding application of TQM in the education sector. If institutions really want to improve quality in their higher education system then it is necessary for them to focus on the concept of Total Quality Management. Various innovations in this field are a proof that the educational institutions are now realizing the importance of higher education. In this paper the need of continuous quality improvement, components of TQM, and challenges in TQM in higher education, means and strategies adopted by different educational institutions are discussed. The study has been conducted by consulting existing literature through historical, analytical and empirical approaches. TQM in the educational institutions is the need of hour. Due to this the authorities involved in the management of higher education system in India like UGC, AICTE, QCI, DEC, BCI have made serious efforts to improve the quality education in India and also to match Indian education standards with the international norms

Total Quality Management (TQM) is a way of managing everything in an organization or institution in order to get the level of excellence. The present study is conducted to investigate the implementation of TQM elements in public and private universities, the results achieved by the universities and to compare the implementation of TQM elements and results achieved by public and private universities. Mixed methods research design was used in this study. The population of the study was directors of quality enhancement cell (QEC), teachers and students. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect the data from directors of QECs. Close-ended questionnaires were used to collect data from teachers and students. The overall objective of this thesis work is to highlight the general principles of TQM involved and to point out how this approach has been and can be used to improve the quality of an academic institution. This work has been specified for higher education of University College of Borås, and it will cover the whole of institution, administrative structure, rather than academic area, specific program, department, or services. This objective is conducted towards an evaluation and assessment of the current quality work of this university. In fact, the way in which this university is working with quality issues now, will be compared with a TQM approach and the weaknesses and strengthens of the quality work of this institution will be recognized.

Total Quality Management in Higher Education: A Review
Total Quality Management (TQM) is a perception, which educational institutions can only attain through long period of planning, by the formulation and execution of annual quality program, which substantially moves towards the accomplishment of the vision. Application of TQM concepts is one of such degree, which will go a long way in reviving the higher education system. This study endeavors to analyze TQM in higher education and outline the literature on Critical Success Factors (CSF) and its execution in all areas. The study concludes the CSF and its execution in higher education institutions. Some institutions already enjoyed the advantages of TQM methods in their programs with determination and strict adoption of the system to achieve their goals. The insight of this review is giving feedbacks of the recent studies on how TQM system will be able to utilize different instruments and hypothesis to legitimize employees, create a positive friendly environment and highlight the necessity of the students to bring out the best in them.
