Finding information about tourist places to visit is a challenging problem that people face while visiting different countries. This problem is accentuated when people are coming from different countries, speak different languages, and are from all segments of society. In this context, visitors and pilgrims face important problems to find the appropriate doaas when visiting holy places. In this paper, we propose a mobile application that helps the user find the appropriate doaas for a given holy place in an easy and intuitive manner. Three different options are developed to achieve this goal: 1) manual search, 2) GPS location to identify the holy places and therefore their corresponding doaas, and 3) deep learning (DL) based method to determine the holy place by analyzing an image taken by the visitor. Experiments show good performance of the proposed mobile application in providing the appropriate doaas for visited holy places.
An innovative mobile electronic tourist guide application
Personal and ubiquitous …, 2009
Mobile tourism'' represents a relatively new trend in the field of tourism and involves the use of mobile devices as electronic tourist guides. While much of the underlying technology is already available, there are still open challenges with respect to design, usability, portability, functionality and implementation aspects. Most existing ''mobile tourism'' solutions either represent of-theshelf applications with rigidly defined content or involve portable devices with networking capabilities that access tourist content with the requirement of constant airtime, i.e., continuous wireless network coverage. This paper presents the design and implementation issues of a ''mobile tourism'' research prototype, which brings together the main assets of the two aforementioned approaches. Namely, it enables the creation of portable tourist applications with rich content that matches user preferences. The users may download these personalized applications (optimized for their specific device's model) either directly to their mobile device or first to a PC and then to a mobile terminal (through infrared or bluetooth). Thereafter, network coverage is not further required as the applications execute in standalone mode and may be updated when the user returns online. The dynamically created tourist applications also incorporate a ''push model'', wherein new tourist content is forwarded to the mobile terminal with minimal user intervention as soon as it is added or updated by the administrator. Our prototype has been developed on the top of Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) which offers an ideal platform for the development of full-fledged, interactive and portable applications tailored for resourceconstrained mobile devices. The paper presents our development experiences with J2ME and highlights its main advantages and shortcomings in relation to the implementation of such kind of applications. Finally, an empirical evaluation of user experience with the mobile application prototype is presented.
IRJET- RFID based E-Tourist Guide
IRJET, 2021
This project presents design and application of an autonomous E-tourist guide system with provision of multi-language (English and Marathi) to help tourist in new geographical region with their mother language or wellknown language. RFID tags are provided for login purpose and then tourist can autonomously carry the handheld, portable device in the region and submit the device while leaving the area hence no human power is required and autonomously runs the system. Voice module is use for storing the audio notes. At every new place roamed tourist notify with the text message by system with help of GSM module. Message contains information of that place. In build facilities of latest ARM 32 Cortex processor stm32 are used for developing features and is operated at very low power consumption with very latest graphics because OLED is use as display device. Thereafter, network coverage is not further required as the applications execute in standalone mode. Hence system enhances guiding systems and improving tourists experience in their touring.
Electronic mobile guides: a survey
Personal and Ubiquitous …, 2011
Mobile tourist guides have been in the spot light for the past decade and are becoming increasingly available in various forms to tourists visiting places. The majority of these mobile tourist guides are to be used via a constant network connection and some as proprietary standalone mobile applications installed on-device. Some are solely navigational assistants using positioning technologies for large cities offering exploratory services and others are used indoors, for example as museum guides. This research paper attempts to categorize these mobile guides using a detailed set of evaluation criteria in order to extract design principles which can be used by application designers and developers.

Android App Based Tourist Guide
Asian Journal For Convergence In Technology (AJCT) ISSN -2350-1146, 2016
In a society undergoing rapid changes, future museums will contribute to human culture by means of smartphone technology that promotes active interaction with the public. As the electronic techniques advance, computing machines have been miniaturized and smart phones are equipped with powerful processors, large memories, sensor, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. Since android based smart phone is a personal belonging, it is an excellent candidate device on which a context-aware service is provided. This paper introduces our Android application that recognizes the tourist place in which a user is interested and displays useful information like historical importance in the form of text, photo gallery and video clips. The goal of proposed work is to provide correct and easy information to the tourist, to make tourism attractive.
RFID based Intelligent Guide for Tourist
2021
Tourist guides are available at specific times alone and that too for few gangs of visitors. A great guide exhibit remarkabledistinctionamong anaverage and memorable museum experience. A skilled guide can easilyfascinate the audience with their narration. One issue is that there might be an absence of qualified guides. RFID supported tour assistant is expected to be an alternative for tourist guides to a certaindegree. RFID based intelligent traveller guide is an electronic hand-held device, that helps to switch traveller from one place to another. This can be a voice enabled system in which the voice board speaks out when the person travels from one place to a different place and also gives relevant data about this place. Once the traveller is standing close to significant tourist spots, itnotices RFID tag and can tune associate degree audio filepertinent to respectivespot. Itcan beaccomplished via putting a RFID receiver along traveler’s palm device. The data about the objects/pla...
