USER SATISFACTION OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES: A STUDY WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CHENNAI

The Public Library concept consists of four components such as first the lending of study materials for the reference purposes, secondly public funds from the tax or cess on local or national basis, and the third one is service to public with free of cost, finally making available right library resources to access. The public library changed from traditional to modern and its service by automation. The primary data collected from the selected public libraries in Chennai and secondary data collected peer-reviewed journal, books, conferences etc. The sample size out of 1500 respondents 1237 questionnaire were received back resulting in response rate 82.45 (1235/1500*100) percent. The findings of the survey reveal useful facts about User Satisfaction of Public Libraries: A Study with special reference to Chennai. The analysis of data helps the Chi square test and standard Division to use this study. This study also working the SPSS 20 software for data analysis. The majority (28..5%) of respondents point to their opinion to highly satisfied of Chennai Public libraries resources and services.
USER SATISFACTION OF PUBLIC LIBRARY RESOURCES AND SERVICES IN CHENNAI CITY: A STUDY

Scenario: The Public Libraries backbone of social development and changing tools of economically background and below literate peoples in India, It is one of the parts in resource provider of political, economic and technological changing growths in India to the peoples. In this study convey to development of public libraries users of the satisfaction levels in Chennai. Methodology: The purposive sample from the Chennai Public Libraries and 200 respondents was selected out of distributed 300 samples. The semi-structured interview was used for collection of the data. The data were qualitatively analysed by the using of MS-Excels working sheets. Result: Users of Public libraries were satisfied of the library services, staff attitudes. The special connection with the library Building, hours, furniture, new addition library collections and availability of electronic library services of better Internet access if required. Conclusion: In this study helpful to users' satisfaction with the services of Public Libraries library in Chennai City and it is helpful to libraries in alternative developing various levels for improvement in their services.

This study focuses on user satisfaction towards public library resources and services with special reference to Anna Centenary Library, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The study revealed that the highest number of respondents is male (72.62%) compared to female respondents; the highest number of respondents is Students (39.29%); Private Employees (10.71%) are recorded as least number of respondents and most of respondents are holding UG Degree (38.10%); 3.17.86% of the respondents are visiting the library on the basis of ‘daily’; 51.19% of the respondents spends their time in library ‘less than one hour’; 40.48% of respondents are coming to the library to ‘read the books’; 63.09% of the respondents are very satisfied with ‘Children Books’ and 09.52% of the respondents are dissatisfied with ‘Non-Book Materials’; the over-all satisfaction of users of Anna Centenary Library is high about its library infrastructure than library collections, library services and library staff support.

The study carried out to find the user satisfaction level of the library services and resources provided by IIT Guwahati Central library. Therefore the study focused on the services and library and resource provide by the library. For the collection data a well-structured questionnaire has been designed and distributed among the students. From the analyzed data it is found that majority of the users are satisfied with the library services like lending service, photocopying service, opening hours, physical facility, OPAC and also satisfied with the book and e-resource collections. A few suggestions have been made on the basis of the results.

The present study examines the user satisfaction of library resources and services in Krishnadas Shama Goa state central Library. Structured questionnaires were distributed among 200 users to collect their opinions regarding the frequency and purpose of their visit to the library. 160 questionnaires were received and analyzed. The study highlights the opinion of respondents about the available resources, facilities, and services in the library. In this study, it was found that the majority of the respondents are satisfied with the resources and services in the library. The study concludes that the library needs to integrate training program for library users as well as staff for effective utilization of resources and services. There is also need to take Regular feedback from visitors and library members.
User Satisfaction with Library Resources, Services and Facilities: A Study

This study is an investigation of use of user’s satisfaction in library facilities, resources and services of the students of C. S. Bembalagi Arts, SHA. M. R. Palaresha Science and G. L. Rathi Commerce College Library, Ramdurg. 200 questionnaires were distributed among students to collect relevant data and 170 received back. The findings of the study shows that 70 (41.18%) of respondents have the habit to visit to the library daily, majority 95 (55.88%) of respondents are highly satisfied with the collection of general books, majority 90 (52.94%) are satisfied with collection of text books 95 (53.3%) respondents considered circulation services as excellent. The study suggested that college library should carry out user studies at regular intervals and user guidance is necessary to help library users to meet their information needs and make users aware of the available library resources and services.
Reinventing Academic Libraries for New Education System in Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities, 2020
The present study aims to assess the user satisfaction on library resources and services of Sri Krishnadevaraya University in Ananthapuramu. The investigator has distributed 200 questionnaires to the users out of which 178 (89%) questionnaires were received back. The finding of the study shows that 83% of the respondents to borrow books for purpose of visit to library followed by to refer books. 50.5% of the respondents were satisfied, 15% of the respondents were dissatisfied with regard to over all facilities and services.
A SURVEY OF USERS PERCEPTION WITH PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES IN CHENNAI DISTRICT-A STUDY

User Satisfaction Level: A case study of Delhi Public Library
The purpose of present paper is to identify the level of satisfaction among the users of Delhi Public Library (DPL) towards its services, collection, staff, building and environment. To conduct fruitful study a survey method was adopted in which structured questionnaire was distributed randomly among the group of users. The data were analysed and interpreted with the help of Ms-Excel. It was found that majority of the users are satisfied with the different facets of the library and are of the view that other non-users may be encouraged to become the users of this library. So many studies have been conducted on Public library, there does not seem to be anyone covering the user's satisfaction level among the users of DPL, which works on imparting information and as local culture centre of the society.
User Satisfaction with Library Services of Bai Ratanbai Gharda Memorial Library: A Study
Abstract : This paper reveals the results of user satisfaction with library services of Bai Ratanbai Gharda Memorial Library, Mumbai by different age groups. The satisfaction of user needs and future growth of the library in aspects of infrastructure facilities, ICT, document delivery, current awareness services etc. Among all types of user groups, the study narrated that providing all necessary services of library was excellent. The survey undoubtedly enumerated that the effectiveness of existing services such as current awareness service, selective dissemination of information, photocopying services and other print material were quite improved and met the user‟s hopes. The results of the study leave ample of possibility for expansion in library activities.
