This paper aims to evaluate the use of Electronic resources (E-resources) by the library users of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India, with a view to examine the exposure of users to e-resources. Besides, it aims to highlight the alert services offered by the library, most preferred format of the journals, awareness of E-resources, helpfulness of e-resources and efforts made by the library for better E-services to their users. This study is based on a structured questionnaire; for the purpose of this study, total 822 questionnaires were distributed among the post graduate students, research scholars and faculty members. Of all distributed questionnaires, 412 questionnaires received back duly filled by the respondents. Various statistical methods have been used for analysis of data. The result of this study is presented and discussed in this paper.

E-Resource is a media to help the information seeker to find all e-published information. Among them some of the e-resources are freely available and some are priced. E-resource is the digital medium for communication of information. The benefits of e-resorces are --- online avialability, 24X7 easy access and simultanious use. A good number of Universities have been discharging higher education in North East Region with good library support. It is utmost important to acquinted with e-resources in addition to traditional collection for updated knowledge and information. The Universities are the centres of higher education and research. The speed and scale of electronic revolution can be expected to have impact on research collection with a force not felt since the arrival of printing press. It undoubtly bring new opportunities for information provisions to users/researchers. So the collection will change to the truely hybrid resource which technology makes possible. The use of electronic resources is growing more rapidly than expected and the use of old journals in electronic format is increasing even more rapidly than use of electronic resources overall. This article will help to get a clear picture of the use of e-resources in University Libraries of seven North Eastern states of India.

Purpose: Electronic resources have become vital in the 21st century. The paper aims to comprehensively examine the electronic resources used by research scholars of faculty of Social Science, Karnatak University, Dharwad. This paper further emphasizes the awareness level, usage, purposes, frequency, difficulties, benefits, and search techniques used when using electronic resources. Design/Methodology/Approach: A systematic questionnaire was used in the investigation. The questionnaire was issued to 100 researchers from the Faculty of Social Science, Karnatak University, Dharwad. Out of 100, 84 completed responses were received, yielding an overall response rate of 84%. The study indicates that the majority of users are aware of various types of E-resources and that these resources may impact their academic activities at the institution. Conclusion: The study should assist university libraries in better-educating faculty, researchers, and students about e-resources. It will also help them organize more proactive end-user training programs that will raise awareness of using e-resources effectively.
Use of E-Resources by the Faculty Members: a Case Study
This paper is an attempt to study the issues like use of electronic information resources, its impact on the collection of print and electronic sources its awareness among the users, and the places where the users are accessing these resources. A survey was conducted in the academic year 2010-11 at the Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri (M.S). A total number of 108 faculty members were selected and their response was obtained with the help of questionnaire. The findings show that users were using e-resources; the awareness about eresources encourages users to use such resources to the maximum; and the users are using Department and home more for accessing the information. The impact of e-resources was visible from the decrease in number of printed documents in comparison to the increase in number of electronic resources. The use of e-resources has increased manifold. The printed material is being quickly replaced by the electronic resources.

Now days we are living in an era of great technology and today's academic Libraries have accepted modern forms of library techniques. The digital resources are readily available from many sources and those content are available by the teachers and learners through the internet A digital Library is also known as a distributed text based computer raised in form system and services. In the modern digital era most of the library collecton will be E-resources so all collection of electronic resources is to provide specific pin pointed exhaustive expeditious of information services to their users The efficiency of library services largly by the quality and quantity of its collection
Use of E-resources in Universities A Study with Special Reference to Kannur University- Kerala
E- Resources, especially in higher education and research, are getting a prime place in academic activities. The academic community is slowly switching over from using print resources to e- resources. Changing priority of the academic community for e-resources create a new challenge to library management at Colleges and Universities. Studies are conducted to know about the priority and use of e-resources for academic purposes. This study is aimed at assessing the extend of use of e-resources by postgraduate students, research scholars and the faculty of Kannur University, Kerala State. It is generally observed that the academic community is well aware of e-resources and interested in using it to the maximum, but at the same time feels that the facilities provided are inadequate to promote and strengthen the use of e-resources in academic institutions.

Student perception of electronic resources use in Rajshahi University Library: A case study

The growing use of electronic resources in and outside the libraries has become a major issue of discussion all over the world. Information seekers, particularly students and teachers are becoming key proponents of e-resource use. Against this backdrop, this paper explores the pattern of e-resource use by undergraduate and postgraduate students of Rajshahi Universityone of the oldest and largest universities in Bangladesh. Based on a questionnaire based survey, the paper comes up with some key findings on the e-resource use pattern by the students as well as some recommendations for increasing the use of e-resources in the coming days.
