Accident Detection and Reporting System Using GPS and GSM Module
With the growing population the use of vehicles has become superfluous.and this has led to the accidents increasing at an alarming rate resulting in a large loss of property and human life.This project aims at finding the occurrence of any accident and reporting the location of accident to the previously coded numbers so that immediate help can be provided by ambulance or the relatives concerned.GSM technology is used to intimate the vehicle position in the form of latitude and longitude coordinates through sms.The location spot is retrieved using Global Positioning System which is a navigational system using a network of satellites orbiting the earth. Sensors such as vibration,alcohol and fire detectors detect signal in case of an accident occurence and send a signal to the connected microcontroller .The controller in turn operates the relay to blow the airbag and automatically lock the brakes.Meanwhile a message reaches to the necessary help.and thus ambulance service and required aid can reach in the shortest time possible. This system can also aid companies in the rental vehicle business to keep a track of the vehicular activity by sending message at regular intervals to the authorised numbers. Index Terms-GPS (Global Positioning System), GSM (Global Service for Mobile Applications), Vibration sensor accelerometers (piezoelectric), SMS (Short Message Service) ,Microcontroller,Alcohol Sensor. I. INTRODUCTION: In today's world there is a severe increase in the use of vehicles.Such heavy automobile usage has increased traffic and thus resulting in a rise in road accidents.This takes a toll on the property as well as causes human life loss because of unavailability of immediate safety facilities.Complete accident prevention is unavoidable but at least repercussions can be reduced. Proposed system makes an effort to provide the emergency facilities to the victims in the shortest time possible.In big organizations the drivers make illegal use of the vehicles thus resulting in financial,time loss of the organisation. Apart from these purposes the system can be used for tracking of stolen vehicles or travelling luggage,fleet management and vehicular sales etc.The system incorporates a single-board embedded system that contains GPS and GSM modems connected with a microcontroller.The entire setup is installed in the vehicle.A vibration sensor is used. It measures the vibration at the location it is placed.The signal is then compared with the standard values which further confers the accident of the car, unnecessary shock or vibration produced by machines,tilt of the car with respect to the earth's axis can be identified with the level of acceleration.Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to identify the location of the vehicle.GSM is used to inform the exact vehicular location to the precoded numbers.Message will give longitude and latitude values. From these values location of accident can be determined.GSM modem provides a two way communication by using a sim card.Such a module works the same as a regular phone. The project aims at intelligent security system providing situational awareness and agile safety .
Accident Alert System using GPS and GSM Module

Nowadays, Over 37,000 people die in road accidents each year because medical aid cannot reach to the location in time. This system aims to alert the nearby medical center and register mobile numbers about the accident to provide immediate medical aid. The vibrator attached in the vehicle senses sudden vibrations in the vehicle, and Accelerometer detects the tilt of the vehicle. Once the accident occurs to the vehicle, with the help of the GPS module, it takes the exact location of the vehicle and sends the accident location to the registered mobile numbers and the ambulance with the support of the GSM module. The main aim of this project is to minimize the time to reach the accident location to provide iSmmediate medical help that saves human lives.

The number of vehicle collisions in India is among the highest in the world. One major factor that leads to these accidents becoming fatal is the response of the emergency services which in most cases are not notified sufficiently within time as the passengers of the vehicle may not be in a state to make calls or raise alarms. Our systems will detect the occurrence of an accident, notify the emergency services with the exact location of this collision and also inform a select number of emergency contacts that have been set by the user. The proposed system will detect the occurrence of the accident using various sensors present in the system, detect the location of the vehicle using the GPS module along with the use of Google Maps data and send the emergency messages and distress signals automatically in case of an accident where the passengers are not in a state to respond/raise an alarm. ACCIDENT DETECTION & ALERTING SYSTEM
Security in travelling is a primary concern for everyone. Rising demand for automobile has increased the traffic, thereby causing more accidents on the road. People often lose their lives because of poor emergency facilities in the case of unattended accidents. Pre-emption of the accidents taking place on the roads is not possible but at least the after effects can be minimized. The proposed system ensures making emergency facilities available to accident victims as early as possible by letting relatives, hospital or a rescue team know the accident spot with the help of this module embedded in the vehicle. Sensors are attached to the microcontroller. In case there is an accident, the sensor gets activated and the GSM system will send notifications to the nearest hospital, police station or kind of the victim with the location coordinates where the accident has occurred. With the help of space navigation system GPS locates the position of the vehicle where accident has occurred.

Our daily tasks are now simpler due to technological advances and infrastructure technological advances and infrastructures that are developing quickly. Road collisions, which incur significant destruction of life and assets, are on the rise daily as the number of vehicles grows. The World Health Organization's (WHO) study estimates that fifty million individuals are harmed and a total of 1.35 million individuals die each year in the world. The absence of medical help at the scene of an incident or the long response time during the rescue effort is the main causes of mortality. The majority of fatal accidents result from the lack of an appropriate medical facility at the scene. Most businesses now use various preinstalled smart sensing systems to monitor their cars' mechanical health and of already installed intelligent sensing systems to monitor their cars' mechanical health and to provide more individualized services to their valued clients. These systems also give clients access to vital smart recommendations enabling them to safely operate their cars them to operate their cars safely. We increase the security of the person by assessing their position while they are moving and keeping track of the cars by sending SMS by utilizing all of this preloaded smart monitoring equipment. With the help of the GSM module, our system would transmit the accident's precise location to the registered mobile numbers as well as the ambulance, the passengers' families, and the closest police station. The system that we propose in the automobile would first detect the accident using vibration detectors, and then detect the axial and latitudinal location of the site of the collision using GPS. Finally, it would determine the precise position of the car. In this study, an acceleration sensor can be employed as a vehicle rollover or crash detector both during and after a collision. A serious accident can be identified by keeping an eye on data collected by the accelerometer and vibration sensor. The major goal of this initiative is to reduce the amount of time it takes to get to the accident scene and deliver emergency medical care that can save lives. When an accident occurs in a remote place and no one is available to report it, this technique may prove to have been a lifeline. By responding quickly, emergency services can prevent an accident from happening and save a life. In this study, we looked at a number of articles about accidents detection devices and the effects of their use.
Accident Sensor with Google Map Locator
According to statistics " road to safety " , in a highly populated country like India, the usage of vehicles are rapidly increasing and at the same time people lose their lives because of accidents and poor emergency facilities. Hence, the value of human life is ignored. These lives could have been saved if medical facilities were provided at the right time. This paper proposes a system which can be installed in any car on the road at a minimal cost, acting as a solution to the mentioned drawback. An accelerometer sensor is used to sense the vibrations and tilt generated by the vehicle when it meets with an accident. This digital output from the sensor is used by the Arduino Uno controller, which is the heart of the system, to trigger the GSM module to deliver an SMS to preprogramed numbers such as ambulance, police station, family member of the victim etc. indicating that an accident has occurred. The accident location is provided by the global positioning system (GPS), which provides the latitude and longitude of the location, and with this information a link is sent in the SMS depicting the accident spot via Google map service provider.
Accident Detection and Messaging System Using GPS and GSM Techniques
Human life is something which is considered as the most valuable asset. The rapid growth of technology has made our lives easier and much faster. But this has made human life suffer in various aspects. This paper is useful in detecting the accident with the help of proximity sensor. In previous systems only the buzzer will raise during accidents and hence the patrol cannot locate the accident spot. Sometimes the alarm siren does not even attract the attention of the public because of the mentality of people nowadays to ignore such alarms considering them as false alarms. Nowadays we are able to track vehicles using many applications which help in securing personal vehicles, public vehicles, feet units and others. Furthermore there is a rapid increase in the occurrence of the Road accident. This project is about a system which is developed to automatically detect an accident and alert the nearest hospitals and medical services about it. This system can also locate the place of the accident so that the medical services can be directed immediately towards it. The goal of this paper is to build up a Vehicle accidental monitoring system using MEMS, GPS and GSM Technology. The system comprises of accelerometer, MCU, GPS & GSM Module support in sending message. The accelerometer is used to detect fall and Threshold Algorithm are used to detect accident. Short Message will contain GPS [Latitude, Longitude] which helps in locating the vehicles.
