ETHICAL LEADERSHIP AND ECO-ETHICAL PROGRAM AS SPECIFIC AND DIRECT WAY TO SUSTAINABILITY COMMUNITY.

Ethical leadership is of significant importance in every organization and the organizational practice in general, because the leaders who encourage ethical behaviour and activity inspire others to follow their example. Ethical leadership and the implementation of ethical programmes in organizations exist as specific, yet direct ways towards sustainable development, sustainable communities, and sustainable regions, if they contain elements of sustainability. However, it is necessary to initiate an expert discourse with the social partners, begin cooperation with top teams, and formulate common strategies regarding competencies of the leaders and experts in ethics. The aim of our article is to clarify the relevant theoretical framework as well as the concept of sustainability, determine ethical principles and goals, and last but not least, justify their relevance in the context of organizational practice, sustainable development, and sustainable communities.

Ethical Leadership for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries

The study was intended to investigate how ethical leadership is a crucial ingredient in achieving sustainable development in third world countries. Sustainability leadership entails mindful actions and behaviours which embrace a global perspective to recognise the link between earth and humanity. Hence, through personal and organisational choices, a leader is expected to affect positive environmental and social change. Sustainable leaders are rare today, and this is the reason why this study focuses on how sustainable leadership will act as a force towards sustainable development more especially for developing countries. This study concentrated purely on secondary sources of information. It described, summarised and discussed information initially presented in other academic publications sources like textbooks, journal articles, book reviews, commentaries, eBooks, etc. The study came into a conclusion that sustainable leadership is essential for sustainable development of a society. Nurturing an ethical leader is essential and will determine the transformation speed in overall development. It is collectively agreeable that resources are numerous, but leadership styles have been a letdown in many societies due to the plundering of public resources. There is a lack of public inclusivity in decision making. What society lacks most is moral leadership. This is the missing link in the sustainable development agenda.

Ethical leadership is rapidly evolving and the concept of sustainable business practice transcending from mere financial metrics to a deep commitment of environmental, social and governance matters. It is gaining much research to creating social value, influencing organizational behavior, employee engagement/commitment, and environmental sustainability. Contemporary organizations face the challenge of maintaining profitability while embedding ethical principles into their core operations. On one hand, balancing economic, social, and environmental dimensions is crucial, yet on the other hand, implementation of consistent ethical leadership across diverse global contexts remains difficult. This often leads to unethical behavior and stakeholder distrust, resulting in legal and financial repercussions. This article aims to evaluate the role of ethical leadership in promoting sustainable business practices based on social learning theory, stakeholders’ theory, and transformational leadership theory. A review of selected papers was employed from 2020 to 2024 to evaluate the role of ethical leadership and sustainability business initiatives. The findings showed pertinent characteristics of ethical leadership in support to sustainable business practices. Further, employee involvement in sustainability initiatives was very important. In conclusion, ethical leadership is a significant part of modern organization in developing sustainable business practices. Hence, this article contributes to knowledge from enhanced resilience of organizations through reputation to compliance according to set regulatory standards.

Ethical Practices and Organizational Sustainability: A Three Dimensional Approach

Ethical practices as viewed on the three ethics approaches can drive leader and employee involvement in sustainability-related behaviors. This study sought to determine the ethical practices of employees and leaders of a state university in the province of Laguna Philippines as well as the institution's sustainability. Descriptive research was conducted through a survey administered to sixty-six (66) faculty members. The study also investigated if there are differences in the ethical practices of the leaders and employees when grouped according to profile factors as well as looked into the relationship between ethical practices and organization sustainability. The study revealed that the leaders and employees highly put into action the ethical practices in relation to Kantian, Virtue, and Care Ethics. Moreover, the level of sustainability exercised by the institution in terms of its contribution to society and the environment is perceived to be highly practiced. Furthermore, it was concluded that there is no significant difference in the ethical practices of the leaders as perceived by the faculty members. A significant relationship between ethical practices and organizational sustainability was established. As such, continuous review of the ethical code of conduct and laying down of procedures in carrying out ethical issues are emphasized by the results.

Ethical Champion towards Business Sustainability: Malaysian Evidence

Creating a sustainable business is not merely environmental protection; an organization needs to ensure a balance between the organization's economic, environmental and social goals. The competitive environment puts a pressure to organizational leaders to meet customer need and stakeholder interest. Since finance accountants are closely involved in planning and coordinating the organizational decision-making process, managers of an organization are commonly the 'customers' of the finance accountants. One of the challenges facing the accounting profession involves developing ethical leadership. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine role of the organizations' leaders including finance accountants in embedding ethical conduct into the organizational strategic management and the contributions of finance accountants towards sustainable success of the organizations. Case study method was employed in this study. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with key personnel from top management in two Malaysian property developers, who are very expert in the finance related matters. This study proved that the organizational leaders including the finance accountants of both organizations play a major role in the integration of ethics in the strategies for sustainability. They are the Ethical Champion, who needs to understand the model for delivering their projects and the risks attached to them.

THE ROLES OF LEADERS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF ORGANIZATION

This article aims at studying the roles of leaders for sustainable development of organization, which include sustainable business development, quality development, merit development, cultural change development, and strategic development. The current paper finds that in order to create sustainable growth of business, profit and benefit of organization must be achieved ethically and legally. Sustainable business development depends on its response to the need of all stakeholders. Quality development is one of the most important factors which can guarantee a sustainable growth of an organization. Leaders should be adherent to merit and ethics, and be a good example of their followers. As change is constant and nothing is going without change, leaders must be able to manage cultural change appropriately with priority on services responded to the needs of customers, consumers, or public. Success of an organization is based on the good understanding of organizational environment and culture, marketing strategy, assessment of market trends, and analysis of competitors as well as social responsibility and social reward.

The head of the organization should be an effective manager and a leader. When it comes to a leadership, the issue of ethics is also worth noting. A leader, who works alongside with and makes an impact on people with different characteristics, must behave ethically. Every single decision made by a leader should be based on ethical standards. A leader must be able to control himself and others, to manage emotions, take responsibility and make fair decisions.
